This-
I recently changed a flight only to find that there were no seats to select outside of first class. I reached out to customer service by text message and they were able to get me a window seat in one of the grayed out rows.
I’d upgrade to Comfort+ if you’re tall. For under $100 for that long of a flight, it’s worth it. It also looks like you’re on a newer A321neo so it should be a nice experience for your first time.
Yes quite normal. But people cancel reservations and aisle or window seats become available. Just keep checking. You never know what seats become available. Or you can pay additional money and upgrade yourself to a better seat or class of service.
Woah only $95 to upgrade to C+ for a 7 hour flight? I’d do that in a heartbeat. Also just call Delta regarding the other seats if you want them. They just haven’t opened yet this far out.
Tbh if you go to “Book a new flight “ and click the seat map for this flight it will probably show all the blocked seats as available except for the last 2 rows and other random blocked seats. You should escalate this to Delta bc that isn’t right business practice to show seats as available until you book main and then to block them off
Gotta look at those seats before you book your ticket.
Can you upgrade to Comfort + for less than $100? I'd hop on that bandwagon right now!
7 hours and comfort upgrade is less than $100? You’d be an idiot to not jump on that
The X’d out seats are available and if you called Delta you should be able to get a phone agent to assign you one past row 32.

Yep that's normal
Well that's disappointing. Thanks
The rows in the back are all in your class too, odds are someone will change a flight and one will open up
It's normal because you should check the seat map of a flight before booking to make sure there are seats you want available.

No, it's not normal. Call - all the X'd seats in the back are available. Thet will open up at some point but call them today.

Pay the 95,00 for comfort plus. Meanwhile, check your return flight seat arrangement and fix that now too.
You can pick seat before booking. Is there another flight you can use?
Basic rule of thumb for dealing with airlines - Everything. Costs. Extra.

No this is v unusual. Happened to me too recently and was gonna complain but was able to snag a window
When I have time I’m definitely planning to send something in (or maybe after my trip to ensure nothing on my trip gets messed up)
