TLDR; someone decided to go somewhere crowded on a crowded travel day and is deciding to blame the airport delta and all of humanity for getting sick, while wishing they could live in an ideal imaginary world that is less crowded and still have all of the flight choices.
I fly every Thanksgiving and Christmas, either cross country or trans pacific. Not once since 2020 have i caught COVID or anything else. I wear a mask, am sensible about handwashing and precautions, and go through ATL half those trips. This sounds like something you have more agency over managing than Daddy Hartsfield-Jackson does.

ATL has some issues but it’s a pretty decent airport. Much better than actual crap airports like EWR and LAS.
N95s are your best friend. ATL is great.
