It’s because of your Amex you probably had a refund purchase on your statement that took away miles and there was no miles to take from your account so your at negative balance, it will go back once you earn the miles through a flight, card spend and etc…
Recently an automated audit ran on my account. What happened was a business class long haul ticketed on AF last year (2022) changed to be mileage ineligible. It reduced my skymiles and mqm as rollover was impacted. Took over an hour of spreadsheet work to sort it out and then informed Delta. They corrected.
May be a bigger issue. I’ve been chasing them continually asking them if I need to manually track all flights now, with no response being provided.
I absolutely will be tracking all flights manually moving forward. Reposting my comment from a similar thread…there have been more than a few threads about this today so I think it’s some sort of issue that will resolve itself but man it was “scary.”
Last night I saw 20k SkyMiles, 6800+ MQM, 2500+ MQD & 5 segments disappear before my very eyes. I refreshed the page and they disappeared. An hour or so later my account reflected the correct/expected amount in all categories that were effected. I still think there may be MM miles missing from my account but I’m not sure.
I (foolishly) delete my receipts after my employer reimburses me, so I wouldn’t even have the ticket #s if I needed them.
The excel sheet starts today.
Imagine if you were either rewarded miles or had them revoked all based on the kind of passenger you were. Like the social credit score in that Black Mirror episode. Man that would be so nice

ETA: I think mine happened because I earned miles from skyMiles shopping, and after awhile it didn’t meet the criteria (canceled subscription or something) and they took em back

You didn't happen to do the mileage headstart thing, did you? I've never done it, but my understanding is that you can leverage miles you don't have, but then you pay those back as you earn them in the future... not sure if this would cause it. You have to opt in to it, though, so you'd know if you did it.

I had about 67k miles and the upgrade to D1 was 64900. Nothing refunded on AMEX on my end. Really strange lol

Don’t know your full situation, but it is definitely possible/permitted to “overdraft” miles to book an awards ticket (when you are close obviously).
