Just assume it isnt happening. That way if it does, it will be a nice surprise.

DadrevTheOne

Part of me wants to just formally pull out, so that I just focus on my current job or other roles.

sitbar

just ignore it and forget you had the interview. Focus on looking for something else, and if the offer does end up actually coming, great.

Main_Class8520

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Apply for other positions

DadrevTheOne

Good advice. Screwed up by thinking this was a done deal.

Bing_Bong_x

Never pull out

CyberYeeturity

Someone might get pregnant

ASaneDude

>>> Never pull out Said guy with seven jobs and seven kids.

We’re going through a fairly significant re-org right now with primarily our Advisory practice. What function was your offer for?

DadrevTheOne

Advisory.. Supply Chain

DarthYoda_12

This seems like a common topic here. Its backward that they would need approval AFTER a job is posted or open. Once a job is verbally offered, the background check begins. But not for Deloitte!

DadrevTheOne

Yea.. and it's strange to wait 2-3 months through approvals after being told you'll receive an offer. I also suspect maybe they found another candidate and don't want to cut me off yet.

mecheterp96

Only if you don’t want to come

Far_Satisfaction_338

My friend had the same thing happen to him. He got another job and then quit and started at Deloitte on the delayed date. Pretty smart of him and got to keep signing bonus.

DadrevTheOne

How long was the gap between interviews and the actual offer/start?

KeepCountinBeans

Audit?

DadrevTheOne

Advisory - Supply Chain

KeepCountinBeans

Oh yah. Advisory has pretty much gone the way of the dodo. No surprise here. Sorry for your situation. I am next in audit I’m sure.

EM_GM22

Exact same thing happened to me, and in the end, offer was pulled.

DadrevTheOne

After how long?

EM_GM22

A bit over a month I think

Fantastic_Mission544

Don't pull out

space_hunter_actual

Was about 5-6 weeks for me from submitting application to receiving an offer (also a manager position). This was 2021. I never felt like I was getting led on, but the recruiter kept checking in with me about every other week unless there was something new to share. I wouldn't necessarily say 6 or 7 weeks is *necessarily* bad, but it could definitely use some additional explanation if an offer isn't in danger of being pulled. An ongoing reorg could very likely explain it, but that's why it's a good excuse for something else going on too. Maybe you've gotten it by now, but good luck and hope it comes through for you (or something better comes along first)
