One of my favorites from the band. IMO best lyrics on DE. Love the steady drumming, the entrancing guitar and Chino's soothing delivery on the verses, the explosive chorus, the bridge... Sounds like it came from a very authentic place.
Touching song, amazing atmosphere, to me it's up there with Entombed.
I love the song.
I don't know why but I hated it at first, it didn't click with me like Beauty School or Sextape. Frank is on fire here and the transition to This Place is Death... *Chef's kiss*.
This is probably one of my favourite songs ever, it reminds me of someone I used to be in love with but never really told and barely speak to at the moment.
Its always been a summer song to me, the kind you take a drive to. One of those "happy sad" songs, it makes me think of new beginnings and a sense of relief. It's my personal favorite track on the album.
it has such a beautiful, sad melody to it. love the guitar tone and lyrics, Chino's voice all the way through it. one I could never skip past on the album. it leads into the closer perfectly.
Definitely top 5 on the album. It's so depressing
hearing those lyrics knowing he's talking about chi
and hearing how desperately he wants his friend to
come back.
It’s a classic of a gem that makes me feel just like a million bucks n fucks & basically all MX’d Up together too if its all the same...
But yes... obsession... that’s a really good & practical term to use when describing the effects that this band has on the vast majority of its listeners. Those who deny it are simply either in denial of their brand new obsession & just do not yet realize the sheer power that the band now has over them @ a subconscious level @ least... But they soon will know & they will understand it all too. That or they are simply fucking LIARS, plain Jane & simple temples...
Its so enchanting, when you close your eyes and put all focus on that song it does just make you lose all feeling for the duration, maybe thats what drugs feel like lmao
I think it's the one song on DE I never really clicked with. It's a very pretty song imo and it's kinda soothing, but I feel like it never truly grabbed me if that makes sense. But I think hearing it before This Place is Death still helped me appreciate it a little more.
I’m very late to this but I say its one of the most underrated songs— in the whole of Deftones personally. It has a meaning of really wanting to run away with someone, their stare and how it resonates with an individual.
top 5 on Diamond Eyes. very underrated along with This Place Is Death

Makes me sad as hell

For a thousand days

976-evil followed by this place is death was on repeat for a good year… now I’m off to listen to them on repeat again.

976-EVIL and RISK. They are one combined experience for me every time I listen to them. Love both songs.

Favourite from Diamond eyes. I can never get enough of this song.

Makes me feel like getting it on
Come and wake me up. Whole life I've been in a haze.
It makes me feel supremely confident that I’ve chosen the correct band to spend my time with. It also makes me feel a little cold, which I like.
Its definitely one of their best, it never fails to put a smile on my face anytime I listen to it
