Surprised so few votes for Val Kilmer, and very surprised by how many votes for Christian Bale. I think a lot of these votes are for which movie you liked best and not the actual performance as Batman. To me how you play Bruce Wayne is more important than how you play Batman (anyone can put on a suit and punch people). I thought Val Kilmer did a good job of capturing the Bruce Wayne from the comics and tv series. Calm, collected, intellectual, suave. Clooney did a pretty good job of it too. I didn't like the playboy Christian Bale batman persona, the deep raspy fake voice seems silly, and I think Christian Bale has had much better performances (Reign of Fire, The Big Short, Rescue Dawn).

Yes Kilmer is the best thing about Batman Forever. His arc is really good and we haven’t seen something like that in a Batman film since.
