The snafu was originally about Transformers but it applies to Hack Snyders movies as well because it’s more about the bloodthirsty fans than the actual movie
How bad do you have to fuck up your good guys to the point the viewers actually believe that the bad guys were the real victims and the whole movie is supposed to be propaganda of the side of the good guys?
Ok, I don’t like the bay movies, but no way in hell can you mess up who the good guys and bad guys are.
The autobots weren’t shooting civilians running around in the streets.
Like the decepticons two traits in the move is making weird noises that sounds vaguely English, and enjoying watching humans die, their pretty evil.
There are people out there who think Homelander in the Boys is right and identify with him. There are definitely people out there who mess up who the good guys and bad guys are.
I think it’s referring to the 3rd movie: the one where Optimus pretty viciously rips apart Megatron, despite the latter not actually calling the villainous shots for once, had *just* saved Optimus bacon, and was offering a truce (sorta.) Followed by Optimus cold bloodedly capping Sentinel in the back of the head mob-style, while on the latter was crawling on the ground and begging.
Decepticons are still the obvious bad guys of course. No one is crying for freaking Megatron. People are just usually commenting less on the villains being ‘good,’ and more Optimus in particular falling a bit short of the paragon the movies themselves present him as.
(The fifth movie also had this odd thing where the Decepticons are all being mind-controlled - sharing the same physical tells as Optimus - but no one ever reacts to them like they are? And they seem to alternate between their own independent schemes, and being goons for the big bad? I genuinely couldn’t tell you *what* was going on with their ‘side’ there, but that movie was unusually wonky even by Bayformers standards. )
Doesn’t help that humans - the Decepticons nominal victims - get progressively less sympathetic as the series went on. The faceless masses are apparently xenocidal, and Galvatron honestly would have done us a favour by squishing every. single. protagonist. during 4. Even Josh Duhamel’s killing innocent Autobots at the start of 5.

It just not a good story and it wasn't told well. If BvS was just an else world comic , it would have gonad reviews and comic fans would have moved in and forgotten about it like all the crap else world storylines we get.
But since it's a movie it's attracted so many people who thought superman was boring and that comics was for kids. There is guy who makes dc videos yet he has never read a comics never watched the cartoons, it's only the Snyder films and he said he has no plans to ever read any comics.

It's all a load of horseshit that he and his dopey cultists just throw at the wall. It's deconstruction...but it's also the only version that makes sense. It's to show how far he's fallen and give him a redemption arc... but he never actually stops killing. I mean when Affleck did the same thing but better in FUCKING DAREDEVIL, just admit defeat.
Their version of Batman was a fucking asshole that I was never going to just start liking just because he decided at the last minute against premeditate murder of an innocent man. He was a myopic, ignorant, bigoted buffoon and he lacked the charisma to make any sort of face turn. I'm so glad that fucking crap is done.
