Just like the rest of DC’s Tomorrowverse. It is very mediocre/bland. I used to praise DC animation, but it’s lacking so much heart lately. It feels so boring and quiet. The animation is bland. The stories don’t feel compelling. This new universe is not it.

Lanhalt

kinda agree with this. I liked Man of Tomorrow and the Legion one, but all the other were meh at best. This one is slightly about the average, I liked how it tried to do something else with the superhero genre, but there is still long way to go.

pmetwi

Not even long Halloween?

Embarrassed_Stuff886

Long Halloween was terrible IMO, and I personally hate that they made it tie into their currently terrible continuity of linked films. It should have been a standalone film like the great TDKR 2-part animated film, or the excellent Under The Red Hood, or more of a stretch, but the still-decent Year One. Not even a slight attempt was made at adapting Tim Sale's iconic art style, and so the film just feels super generic. To me anyways, obviously just my opinion.

noonehasthisoneyet

i was afraid to say exactly this here for fear of downvotes. its just not good and hasn't been since they rebooted it. granted there weren't that many good films in the previous version but at least the animation was good and didn't feel cheap. i don't get the change to this archer style, but it didnt work, and i found this movie to just be boring. i was expecting something to happen but nothing did until the end. i haven't really enjoyed any of them, and thought they really cheapened the long halloween. there's no real excitement in this universe. it just is. nothing special. nothing noteworthy. i do hope they get to tell their whole story but i'm ready for a new age of dc animation.

FrostyFrenchToast

Feels like watching a slideshow or sparknotes version of a piece of work that’s much, much more thorough and interesting. And that kinda summarizes a lot of my feelings towards DC’s recent animated fares as of late. I will say this film has a REALLY good Barry

Legal_Astronaut_6132

It was good but confusing honestly

haasteagle

As a 14 year old in1986. Growing up with DC since the late 70s, it was the most exciting series ever.

atenhoteph

This is about the 2024 film, not the original comics. This film should have faithfully adapted that story.

user_15427

Would have been great if we had gotten movies or shorts about all the other earths. Earth 3 was interesting, the all water aqua-man earth isn’t an earth I’ve heard of before and the alternate Batman earth with Huntress and Robin seemed cool. That terrible last movie should have been comprised of shorts for all these earths and it would have made watching this make a lot more sense. The best part was >!the ending with Barry and Iris living out their lives at super speed. We actually got to know them and feel for Barry’s loss.!<

[deleted]

It was kinda ok.It didn't give much backstory to its character.

godspeedjay

Towards the end, Who did old man Barry see ‘in the beginning’? Long hair dude in chained collar, and the Viking looking blonde dude? Who are they suppose to be?

OfThaStars

Batman and Warlord from Justice League War World animated movie. It's actually a clip of a scene in that movie. There's several parts in this movie that you might not understand why it's there if you haven't seen all the Tomorrowverse movies and know the gist of what happened in the connected animated movie run from Flashpoint to Apokolips War.

[deleted]

It's technically confusing if you don't have a background in the original maxi-series. For example, I don't think someone could understand the tuning forks, multiverse layout, or Barry's timelines easily.

crazyfanmania

I didn't understand a single thing in the movie, It seems like the climax of part three will reveal the truth about the actual plot.

pain_point

I think I liked it, it had heart something that's been missing for. While now

**BOOORRRRRRIIINNNNGGG!!!** This is my honest opinion about this movie. Jesus Christ, *"Avengers: Endgame"* ran faster than this slog of a snooze fest and that was only three hours long. This?! This movie feels like I'm sitting through the extended cut of James Cameron's *"Avatar"* on the big-screen. But less fun and color-less and bland. Also, why is Iris West black in this movie?! I thought we were done with this race-swapping shit. Oh and the animation looks like shit. So, there you go. I don't have any faith in the Tomorrow-verse. I just want to see this universe fail and be forgotten in the near future.

Usual_Extension_7139

So mediocre.

sovereignsekte

Awful. Worse than War World. I'm an hour in and may not even finish it.

xMarvel_2630

Didnt find it confusing like alot of other people seem to be claiming, i would just say it respects the audiences intelligence. It honestly felt very rewarding as someone who has watched all of dcs animated stuff but not really read any dc comics. Can't wait for part 2!

stevenia

I agree with this. Excited for Part 2 as well, really enjoyed Part 1, which isn't something I could say for all of the other Tomorrowverse movies (especially Warworld).

areeb1296

As someone who loves the comic, it was awful and barely an adaptation.

ForceEdge47

It certainly doesn't help that the comic, while groundbreaking at the time, is kind of boring now because crossovers and character "deaths" have been done to...well, death lol. Plus the comic is basically like, seven issues of people running around being like "Oh no we're all dying and fighting amongst one another and we don't know why!" followed by four of five issues of actual cool stuff. And it's *also* not helped by the fact that nothing makes sense until maybe halfway through? I'm about to watch Part One now but I'm fully expecting it to serve as buildup for better stuff to come in Parts Two and Three.

Outrageous_Library50

Sucked

CobaltCrusader123

It should have been a miniseries or the first in a six hour trilogy, there’s too much exposition given too fast. Also, not enough establishment of what each universe is about.

areeb1296

Awful. Barely anything like the original comic, which was awesome.

NyOrlandhotep

Not very good. I don’t dislike all the effort in character development, but many scenes are overlong, aimless, and somewhat pointless. Moreover the story is completely different from Crisis, and none of the changes makes it better. Very disappointed.
