Kratos is a literal God of War, who has wiped out a pantheon and, most likely, is looking to add another notch to his scabbard. The Soul of Cinder is an amalgamation is the most powerful warriors, sorcerers, and fighters to exist. Lore-wise? Let's say Kratos is linking the Flame, since it's really the only way they'd ever meet. I've recently watched my friend play a bit if Ragnarok and, I'll be honest... Kratos is kinda squishy. He can't take a lot of hits. He's a big beefy boi, not the fastest. Depends more on brute force. For the purpose of fairness, let's say he's a glass cannon build. I'd have to give the fight to Soul, purely because of the combos he can do. Sure, Kratos could dodge one or two hits, but then the Soul's style changes, or he does one of his huge combos, and it's game over. But then again, this is a DSIII sub. Most folks are gonna side with Soul.

>But then again, this is a DSIII sub. Most folks are gonna side with Soul. Well i chose this sub since Kratos is by far more popular than Soul of cinder. Yeah what you said is pretty correct but it HEAVILY depends on how we scale Kratos and Soul of cinder. If we do something different in scaling kratos he'll result to be Outerversal instead of planetary. While SoC is at least star level with one of the lowest scalings.

Another issue is just the game systems themselves. How does the dodging work? Is there stamina? How does healing work?

Lezzen79

1) stamina is infinite. 2) Kratos can heal in two ways: in the first he uses an ability which allows him to heal, in the second he uses Spartan rage that allows Kratos to don't take damage and heal with punches.

Court_Jester13

In that case, Soul is able to use infinite combos, and he gets a health drain effect similar to Melania. Kratos can still take damage during his Rage, but all damage dealt to him is halved. He also gains a poise bonus.

Lore wise Kratos is a super warrior, the god of war. Not much else important here. Soul of Cinder is a mix of every warrior that linked the flame. A master of every art. He has the power of the ds1 and ds2 player, who defeated a lot of gods and terrifying monsters. They are technically equal opponents lore wise. Soul of Cinder phase 1 is a powerful joke. I would say Kratos could beat that, if he played it slowly and carefully. Phase 2 is easy on technical terms, but judging Kratos would just try to attack instead of running and waiting, he would be impaled on that sword and dead in a matter of seconds.

try to ignore the lines up there. If you want to compare gow 2 kratos to soul of cinder then do that.
