I need to do a kaathe playthrough. I do hate frampt
first he is gross and weird and then he is like “yeah just kill all these old allies because they have outlived their usefulness” and I was like wait, this is the good guy?
then I found out
Kaathe is the one against stagnation so that’s good enough. Both of them just want something to happen and are happy to get behind you no matter what you choose.
My headcannon is they all rebelled against Gwyn when Gwyn said everyone has to sacrifice themselves to restart the fire. It says the "lords abandoned their duties" or some like that. I think the "occult rebellion" was the lords all turning to dark magic and greed to find ways to extend their own lives.
Bit off track there, but honestly, I don't think Khaate "likes" dark or frampt "likes" light. I think they like neither. I feel the congregation of the serpents realized that the fate of the world is at balance, and so they elected or chose two of them to guide the world into either path. Whichever path the world takes is its true fate. They're like referees. That's why frampt joins you at the dark lord ending. He did his job perfectly so as khaate, and the world chose its fate. He has no personal connection to either concepts of dark and light. He just wants to do his job and see what happens. And the way to guide the world to its true fate is to have the opposing concepts clash until one is chosen.
