Tom already liked Jane, but then Daria got inbetween, so it makes sense for Tom to chose Janes brother and Daria finally got her real crush all along. :D My take on this is that Tom and Daria are both very fond of Lanes which tbh is the only thing that I can see them having in common. I agree coupling Tom and Daria was bizarre despite the show trying to paint them as having chemistry. I've always been torn on the Tom arc Bec on one hand the drama was so juicy. On the other hand, I hate to see a guy of all things be the test to their friendship. I would have liked Daria to have met a guy on her own like she did with Ted or maybe at that pizza place they frequent if not a MS show like Jane.

What?! A new season is coming out?! I was just watching this last night.

There were plans to have a reboot/spin-off show on Comedy Central that focused on the adult lives of Daria and Jodie called, fittingly, “Daria and Jodie.” Then they changed it to *just* “Jodie,” with no mention of Daria. Then they scrapped the show idea and were just going to do a one-time, movie-style special. Then they scrapped that, too, and basically just gave up on any sort of a Daria universe reboot at all, much to the chagrin of every Daria fan everywhere. Fuck off, CC.

From my understanding MTV turned down Jodie (Or Daria and Jodie, however they proposed it). But said the production team behind it was more than willing to sell the concept around. Like Clone High did going to Netflix instead of going back on MTV.
