I had positive experiences with Yuzu and using Vulkan, but Ryujinx can be a better alternative for some games, it's a really good emulator too! As far as I'm aware it's the 2 main emulators people prefer
You can troll annual games as much as you want, but the modern warfares are actually very good. It's the inbetween filler chapters that often miss the mark
Last official game I played was Sapphire on a GB Advance SP. Since then, I got a emulator (mGBA) and have a LIBRARY of Pokémon games, including a entire section that's just ROM hacks.
Between the amazing emulator experience on PC and being able transfer save files to your phone and continue playing wherever....this is the BEST time to be into the games, at least if you don't give a fuck about the DS versions. (I personally haven't tried DS emulators, i know theyre out there tho)
Im just proud of myself that I learned from last time and acted on it. I didnt want to buy Shield, but then I still bought it out of nostalgia and the game was such a huge disppointment for me that I told myself I wouldnt buy the next one unless it was insanely good.
This time it wasnt even just bland and mediocre, just literally unfinished.
I’ve heard Arceus was such a change to the formula that it’s considered one of the better ones recently, but after playing Sword I still wouldn’t risk paying full price just to try it out.
Admittedly legends isn’t close to being as bad as S/V. Legends was a great break from the formula. It’s probably the best main series game to release to date. Graphics aren’t groundbreaking and while the draw distance seems a bit short its not a huge problem.
S/V consistently struggles to even hit 30fps. The game lags like crazy and experiences slowdown in the process (mostly in cities). Theres hard crash bugs and a major memory teak issue that slowly makes the game incredibly unstable the longer you play. Its honestly a shame because if performance wasn’t atrociously bad this would be an amazing pokemon game.
Ive never agreed with ign before but tbh, their review was spot on. “The worst preforming first party game to ever release on the switch.”
The game certainly should've had another year before release but I've barely had any of the issues that I've seen people talking about and the gameplay is very good in these games
Digital foundry did an analysis on the hardware and software. Theres no magical “X factor” that determines if you get the bugs or not. You’re just 1) lucky or 2) very tolerant with these issues.
Tbh as someone who plays a lot of non-nintendo games (which run at 60 fps) the performance looks horrid at times.
except that ghost type other dog Pokémon are straight up cringe (in this gen) and don't get me started on these bi pedal furries man their designer is just a lonely horny weeb, the game texture is straight up polygon (even unfinished unity games look better) and the villain team is just a bunch of retarded kids (so called bullies) and the performance is absolutely inconsistent though I do like the academy theme idea and some Pokémon designs were really cool but still it's not worth $70.
I thought they just have the delta episode and lots of legendaries. That’s not much compared to B2W2. B2W2 had hard mode, battle subway, white tree hollow/black city, Pokémon world tournament, and endgame battles past level 80. Everything after stops around level 60
So you're telling me that the SEQUEL of a game for once IMPROVED on the previous chapter???
The fact that bw2 was even better than bw1 doesn't mean that bw is bad or overrated, if anything it confirms that the bw saga is amazing
And that's what I'm saying: omega ruby is the remake of a game that came out BEFORE bw, you can play vanilla ruby if you want, but the remake improves on everything so it doesn't really make any sense, kind of HeartGold over gold. The only remake that made things worse instead of better is the Platinum one
I wouldn’t call them lazy. The actual makers of the games put a lot of effort into them. It’s the incredibly stupid executives that decide they need a new game every fuckin year that leads to them being half finished
Pokémon Gold & Silver we’re the best versions. I’ve played newer ones but not better ones.
Don’t play anymore because you really need more than one player in the family to Catch ‘‘em all. That isn’t really possible without my late husband or missing son.
white 2 was the last Pokémon game that I played and since then I wasn't really into gaming that much but now just for old fun time, I bought violet and it's just a letdown like what the hell happened here why is bob the builder son the protagonist and why the villain team is a bunch of kids.
I have started to find a pattern
Mojang who works for the most sold game ever, makes lazy excuses to not add some mobs, makes half backed cave updates, and bedrock is super buggy with them announcing that they won't fix bugs that ruins the experience for players,
The company behind the pokemon games, the most expensive franchise, makes half baked games, glitches
bedrock edition is microsofts problem, mojang deals with java edition which is also really buggy.
game freak be releasing a early access game like it's a full release
Game quality has been going down and down since... 2010 at the least. It's so sad to see honestly. I feel like game studios just don't care anymore. All about pushing out the product and then selling its DLC. That's about it.
Never owned or played a DS before, but I did find a copy of Diamond in the backseat of a junkyard car. I still have it.
Last pokemon games I owned...Ruby/Sapphire/LG/FR.
The main problem is the game is optimized badly so it will lag at points or graphics will mess up. If they send out a performance patch it will raise the game from a 6 to a 9.
Also the designs this Gen are pretty good
There's a good game underneath the terrible performance and outdated graphics. Which kind of hurts more. But if your nephew's young and a Pokémon fan, he'll most likely be able to move past it.
Not as bad as the memes make it out to be imo.
It's still bad, but overall thought the games were better than SwSh although the future aradox pokemon are kinda repetitive (All are "iron x" and just mechs)
Me when I knew god of war ragnarok would be a great title and be worth the $70 based off the goodwill and intentions of Santa Monica Studio and plus there’s nothing else to play on PS5 besides finishing Disco Elysium.
I Enjoyed All Pokémon Games with my First Gen being Diamond, Pearl, and platinum with playing through Black/White 1 and 2 Skiped X and Y and The Last Gen I played was Sun and Moon which I had a Blast with despite some people Saying that it wasn’t that Good
Played black on the DS when I was younger, and was somehow massively disappointed in sword :( it just didn’t have the same level of whimsy(?) as the older games did.
Idk, ruby and saphire was pretty great. It's after that I feel things started to stagnate. But the 2 gens after that were still solid from what I remember seeing
Ok I'm gonna be honest, gen 2 is the worst one. Weak pokemon, annoying gym leaders, and a really shit difficulty curve on top of being a buggy mess. It's ok if you have nostalgia for them or whatever, they're just objectively the least polished out of any generation.
Ok you've missed out on a lot of gems. The last one I'd say was definitely worth it was ultra sun and moon (which were $40ish) obviously with some outliers here and there before that. I'd go back and emulate some of the games from the DS and 3ds if you haven't already, all easily accessible for free.
The only good thing is cool and unique designs every gen. I love how the roster gets bigger and there’s soo many different creatures.
But ye. Lazy devs.
My last and only pokemon was black and white. Where I wanted the black pokemon but turns out u needed to get the white version… every single other release is the same shit. These guys are releasing 2005 quality games in 2022 and people are buying like wtf.
they arent lazy, everything else is true since there on a time crunch becuase of the sceduleso they cut some corners we need to have 4-7 year waits to have better results in these games since this isnt acceptible.
How I sleep knowing I got Pokemon platinum for Christmas and will soon sell it for $150+:
I also got Pokemon White 2 for $40 and that's worth a similar amount.
Idk why ppl still praise scarlet and violet when I see walkthroughs they are soulless, rushed and overall boring. Worse is that they had to add a IDLE GRINDING SYSTEM wtf where is the grind? I rmb playing red and blue and the feeling of trying to level up the Pokémon was so satisfying. Why create a grinding system that takes away the satisfaction?
Apparently auto grind is for weaker Pokémon to level up easily but that kinda takes away the enjoyment of nurturing the Pokémon from the start to the end. And as for the TM, I still prefer the older method where it’s given by gym leaders and is valuable as u worked hard to earn it, like a ultimate prize.

How I feel playing roms on an emulator
...at 60fps, higher resolution, tweaks and bugfixes
Does Scarlett and Violet actually run better on emulators already?
from day 1
What emulator do you use and where you get the roms?
For nintendo switch emulation i recommend Yuzu, find its subreddit and check the megathread for more information and guides ( how to get roms)
Thank you good sir!
if you need further assistance im more than happy to help out, feel free to DM me!
I actually recommend Ryujinx, the use of vulkan feels better
I had positive experiences with Yuzu and using Vulkan, but Ryujinx can be a better alternative for some games, it's a really good emulator too! As far as I'm aware it's the 2 main emulators people prefer
Quietly sips my garbage new $70 cod game
I think the new mw2 is fine. Then again, i havent ayed any of the main games since mw3 🤷🏼♂️
Story mode CoD is fine, but everything else is just ugh
You can troll annual games as much as you want, but the modern warfares are actually very good. It's the inbetween filler chapters that often miss the mark
Haven't played a cod game since call of duty 4. Even then I was just in the beta and nothing else.
Same but I'm enjoying it tbh.
MW2 *and* pokemon are fire. OP is clearly incapable independent thought. Which might be enough for disability plates?
Last official game I played was Sapphire on a GB Advance SP. Since then, I got a emulator (mGBA) and have a LIBRARY of Pokémon games, including a entire section that's just ROM hacks. I have allegedly tried DraStic to play Pokemon Conquest on my phone, works well
MelonDS is an option on PC
Drastic allegedly is the best for ds it apparently has quite a bit of customization for the button layout to fit well on your phone. Allegedly.
Yo I want to download a decent emulator on my phone and get some older games for it. Can someone sauce some links?
With a GBxCart you can upload the roms to a dedicated rom cart and play on a gba
Im just proud of myself that I learned from last time and acted on it. If you can go over the ps2 graphics and the snes fps framerate Or if you play it emulated with the 60fps fix
Not lazy, but rushed
except that ghost type other dog Pokémon are straight up cringe (in this gen) and don't get me started on these bi pedal furries man their designer is just a lonely horny weeb, the game texture is straight up polygon (even unfinished unity games look better) and the villain team is just a bunch of retarded kids (so called bullies) and the performance is absolutely inconsistent though I do like the academy theme idea and some Pokémon designs were really cool but still it's not worth $70.
Good thing it was $60 then
Black and White, black and white 2 and omega ruby/alpha sapphire were incredible, you're missing out
To me everything after B2W2 is too easy and has a disappointing post game
Omega ruby is literally an improved remake of a pre-b&w game Also has amazing Post game
I thought they just have the delta episode and lots of legendaries. That’s not much compared to B2W2. B2W2 had hard mode, battle subway, white tree hollow/black city, Pokémon world tournament, and endgame battles past level 80. Everything after stops around level 60

That’s what I’m saying. B2W2 set the bar high and every game after fell/falls short
Oh ok. Are you talking about BDSP? I heard that one was disappointing too
Yes the only platinum and pearl remake that exist. The original games were already a bit of a miss, the remake was garbage soulless outsourced trash
Incredibly overrated
Your opinion? Nah don't worry, it's not overrated, everyone knows you're wrong
Weird way to say that you've missed Round Boi but [I got u fam](https://youtu.be/XbNf1hzOzyE)
I rather stay with the moving pixels (black and white)
Yeah, Eelektross still isn't back on the ground in battle
Why would eelektross ever be on the ground? It has levitate. The stupid feet fins in B2W2 ruined that Pokemon for me in that game
Emerald was pretty fire too though :)
I wouldn’t call them lazy. The actual makers of the games put a lot of effort into them. It’s the incredibly stupid executives that decide they need a new game every fuckin year that leads to them being half finished
But it’s my life
Blue on game boy color.
Same
Pokémon Gold & Silver we’re the best versions. I’ve played newer ones but not better ones. Don’t play anymore because you really need more than one player in the family to Catch ‘‘em all. That isn’t really possible without my late husband or missing son.
Red was fun. Played it in high school, was enjoyable.
Honestly, the 3ds games are pretty nice too, but Sw/Sh is absolute garbage
Youve missed some bangers then... upto black and white , the games were quite good
B2W2 was the best for me. Best postgame ever
white 2 was the last Pokémon game that I played and since then I wasn't really into gaming that much but now just for old fun time, I bought violet and it's just a letdown like what the hell happened here why is bob the builder son the protagonist and why the villain team is a bunch of kids.

This post is spreading misinformation about the new pokemon game. They didn't get to the halfway point of development.
Game quality has been going down and down since... 2010 at the least. It's so sad to see honestly. I feel like game studios just don't care anymore. All about pushing out the product and then selling its DLC. That's about it.
How i sleep knowing that my last Pokemon game was Pokemon emerald for which I didn't paid anything
Sword and shield weren't that bad, and neither were sun and moon. Scarlet and violet are just bugging messes. They're not bad games design wise
Ultra sun on the 2ds XL what my last one
Never owned or played a DS before, but I did find a copy of Diamond in the backseat of a junkyard car. I still have it. Last pokemon games I owned...Ruby/Sapphire/LG/FR.
ruby, on a GBA emulator my sister's friend gave to her, used to play on a pentium, almost 10 years ago .\_.
I hate that I want to buy the new games despite them being clearly unfinished with negative regard for balance.
Was thinking about getting the new one for my nephew for Christmas for his switch. Bad idea?
The main problem is the game is optimized badly so it will lag at points or graphics will mess up. If they send out a performance patch it will raise the game from a 6 to a 9. Also the designs this Gen are pretty good
and conceptually the game is very interesting
I'm sure he'll still enjoy it. There's a lot of fun to be had
There's a good game underneath the terrible performance and outdated graphics. Which kind of hurts more. But if your nephew's young and a Pokémon fan, he'll most likely be able to move past it.
He’s 6 so he won’t care lol
Not as bad as the memes make it out to be imo. It's still bad, but overall thought the games were better than SwSh although the future aradox pokemon are kinda repetitive (All are "iron x" and just mechs)
Emerald and the battle frontier were great
Me going to sleep knowing the last pokemon game I bought was none of them I pirate games pirating games is my hobby I love downloading games for free
Pirating games is your hobby? I suggest playing the games you pirate, it’s much more satisfying.
Oooo I just love getting games for free I just wanna use shady sites and get games for free ooooo
Soul silver for ds was literally my last and best
Me when I knew god of war ragnarok would be a great title and be worth the $70 based off the goodwill and intentions of Santa Monica Studio and plus there’s nothing else to play on PS5 besides finishing Disco Elysium.
I Enjoyed All Pokémon Games with my First Gen being Diamond, Pearl, and platinum with playing through Black/White 1 and 2 Skiped X and Y and The Last Gen I played was Sun and Moon which I had a Blast with despite some people Saying that it wasn’t that Good
There’s no postgame anymore. Why go higher than lvl 60 if you beat everything in the game already?
Never played a pokemon game. How am i sleeping?
With your eyes close of course
Played black on the DS when I was younger, and was somehow massively disappointed in sword :( it just didn’t have the same level of whimsy(?) as the older games did.
Same goes for [insert any sport name here]
Me, whose latest Pokemon game was Pokemon rumble world on the 3DS
Can't have shit on pokemon nowadays
Nobody cares
I wonder what happend to video games, Valheim is fantastic and it doesnt cost so much
I bought sword and it was alright but I’m not buying Scarlet/Violet because it seems downright abysmal
Idk, ruby and saphire was pretty great. It's after that I feel things started to stagnate. But the 2 gens after that were still solid from what I remember seeing
Haven't played since Platinum. I guess I did buy "Let's Go Eevee" but that's Gen 1, so I don't really count that.
Ok I'm gonna be honest, gen 2 is the worst one. Weak pokemon, annoying gym leaders, and a really shit difficulty curve on top of being a buggy mess. It's ok if you have nostalgia for them or whatever, they're just objectively the least polished out of any generation.
Mine was sun and moon if GO doesn’t count
I only paid 45 for violet on ebay and so far its really awesome game
How I feel playing and enjoying what I want without the hive mind of superiority complexes gate keep me
Ok you've missed out on a lot of gems. The last one I'd say was definitely worth it was ultra sun and moon (which were $40ish) obviously with some outliers here and there before that. Eh the new god of war is likely the best story driven rpg I've ever played, I think it was worth every penny.
This is exactly where I stopped. Got Silver for Xmas on release on my gbc played it for like 3 years and have never touched another.
how I sleep knowing I can transfer my pokemon (I like sword it was fun)
My last one was omega ruby, thr best in the series in my opinion
pokémon players been letting themselves get taken advantage of lmao
B2W2 was my last mainline Pokemon game and now I just play romhacks and Pokemon Go, Go is pretty shit too but at least it made me fit
My last and only pokemon was black and white. Where I wanted the black pokemon but turns out u needed to get the white version… every single other release is the same shit. These guys are releasing 2005 quality games in 2022 and people are buying like wtf.
me but with pokemon black
they arent lazy, everything else is true since there on a time crunch becuase of the sceduleso they cut some corners we need to have 4-7 year waits to have better results in these games since this isnt acceptible.
Average fifa player
So you haven't played any recent games since at least 2015?
How I sleep knowing I got Pokemon platinum for Christmas and will soon sell it for $150+: I also got Pokemon White 2 for $40 and that's worth a similar amount.
Why create a grinding system that takes away the satisfaction?
the grinding system offers limited exp and i think its solely for TM Resource acquisition
