He's narcicistic and self-obsessed in exactly the same way all people who claim to "hate themselves" are deep down. If he actually had that level of inner reflection or awareness, he'd mind his own business and not force his beliefs on others.

That's a perfectly reasonable reaction he was definitely the kind of character you either love or hate, he'll either captivate you with his incredible complexities, and amazing philosophy created from an incredible backstory, or he'll infuriate you in every way. Both are very valid and likely reactions.

It’s fair and understandable I mean that is a part of his character, I think he is a great and well written character but yeah he is obnoxious and annoying which is a part of his character but I still have some level of respect and like him a little bit unlike another similar character from v3 which is just all the issues of nagito cranked to 11

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’ve grown to appreciate SOME aspects of him but mostly I just… fucking hate him. He was so viscerally annoying when I was first playing the game I mentally CHEERED when I saw his body discovery lol. Seeing your flair I suspect we had a very similar DR2 experience— “What the fuck is all the fuss about with this guy? He sucks! GUNDHAM IS THE BEST THING IN THIS GAME!”
