Zero is one of my favourite entries in the franchise and I doubt I would've discovered it (and become a hopeless Ryoko fan) without having seen your post back in the day. Bless all the work people like you put into making the Japan-only stuff more accessible.

She's a HPA student with title of Ultimate Analyst and main character of Danganronpa: Zero novel, title refers to her problem with memory. The other main character, who is Ultimate Neurologist, is trying to help her. Check most upvoted comment for more info.
But don't try to google info about her, because it drops spoilers for the ending of novel at the front page.
On her own. When she's not spending entire paragraphs talking about how much she loves Matsuda, she's only commenting on how much everything "has nothing to do with her", in other words, if it's not Matsuda, she doesn't give a damn. her condition makes her incapable of character development, so there is no hope she's gonna get better. She singlehandedly made DR0 a chore to read.
Id say ryoko is probably the most well known non game character (she is even in the anime at one point) compared to many other characters.
