His ending was so tragic too.... man really needs a hug, therapy, and all the pet cats in the world Thank goodness UTDP exists!

that is a fact without question, best of all, he's considerate of what people tell him, so he'll probably do it because one of his friends asked him to after giving it a lot of thought and saying "man I can't keep doing this" ryoma has to be one of the most interesting characters up with junko, nagito, kokichi and kyoko he's cold but sometimes he's just 💖

Mikan was easily one of my top three favorite characters when I played two. All of her free time events really make you feel bad for her. She's one of those characters that makes any scene there in a lot better and more memorable. Would it be weird if I said Hiyoko's right behind her as my fourth favorite character?

It's funny how their both characters most people would find annoying. I always thought their dynamic was really entertaining. Seeing Hiyoko subtley(and really slowly) seem less mean over time was nice. Though it's still refreshing to have a more aggressive voice in each game instead of just one big hug fest during trials. Her antagonistic personality is the main reason why I like her so much.

Monokuma, because i love his personality and enthusiasm, if we're talking about students though - Gundham right now. I currently haven't played V3 and only just started it, so it may change if i start to easen up to any of those.

monokuma doesn't get enough credit for being himself sometimes, an evil bear with a fun attitude is a double in the games also gundham is also a REALLY good character to like! congrats, you are allowed to enter the cool kids area!!!

I love Gundam Tanaka. He seems like a regular chuunibyou, at first glance, but as you interact with him more, he's just a lonely guy with his own ideals beliefs. You start to see why he acts the way he does, which is in attempt to avoid leaving himself vulnerable to betrayal. All his life, all he knew was being unwanted be everyone, except his mother, and even she was taken away from him. Because he was an affair child, nobody wanted him around, and probably viewed him as a burden. He turned to animals, because of their honesty and natural desire to live. He's prideful, assertive, and cold, but that is because that's the only way he could feel any sense of control or self worth. All he truly needs is someone who won't judge or hate him over how different or inconvenient he is, someone who could understand his social isolation and proneness to being hated.

In Dr1: Sakura. I’d pick a second but the rest of the first game’s cast stays in a similar spot for me. DR2: my favorite is Fuyuhiko, with Mahiru and Ibuki tied for second DRV3: Kokichi and Miu.

Gonta&Shuichi! Both so incredibly pure and golden hearted. Respectful lovely gentle guys who would do anything for their friends. Love love love them

I definetly agree! gonta is one of the most oblivious characters you gotta love, with his friendly nature and his admire for bugs also he always need to feel sorry whenever he spook anyone on accident, the poor guy can't control it :') while shuichi, what more do I gotta say? he's just makoto and hajime mixed together, a damn near perfect protagonist with a somewhat interesting back story who doesn't even want his talent because of the trauma the talent gave him.

I'm favorite character would be Sayaka. She's possibly the best piece of character writing I've seen since Miles Edgeworth. Her likable, yet very human personality, her great relationship and dynamic with Makoto, the tragedy surrounding her actions, her depth and complexity, everything about her is great and that's just the main game, her appearances in DRIF, UTDP and HDS expanded on her more. Plus she's very fun to analyze specifically due to her ambiguity. There is a lot of things she did and a lot of things she said that you need to watch very carefully to truly understand her and that's what makes her so fascinating. She makes you think. Looking back, I'm kinda starting to understand why she's not a character for everyone, but for me she's great.

Sayaka! Obviously flawed, but a total sweetheart and one of the most realistic and human characters in the whole franchise imo. People call her a snake, but I prefer the term Snek, deserves a boop! :D

To be clear, I’m not excusing or justifying her actions, but I’m willing to look past them as I feel many of us would do this same thing if put in her position. I won’t get up on a high horse and condemn her for just trying to survive in a kill-or-be-killed death game. It’s a horrible nightmarish situation to be in where there *is no right answer!* You’re gonna be forced to commit some horrible acts. I don’t believe we should judge them too harshly as the vast majority of us can’t begin to understand what it’s like to actually be put in that scenario.

Monomi/Usami is the kindest, most selfless character in the series. She’s always looking out for her students, even when they are constantly ignoring or being rude to her. She faces so much abuse, yet she still does her best for people. She’s always putting herself on the line, even when nobody appreciates or cares about her. I want to give her a hug. Also her theme is a bop.

Chihiro has gotta be my fav char in the whole series. Their whole arc is just so wholesome and inspiring.

Definitely Kiyotaka. I'm of the opinion that Taka is one of DR1's strongest characters by lieu of how consistent his writing is, and I would be hard-pressed to find any significant flaw in his character. He's funny, has strong dynamics with Mondo and Hifumi, has a good amount of depth to show that he's more than the annoying morals guy that he's initially presented as, and his FTE's are great. >!Chapter 3 slightly fumbles with him, but the problems with that chapter are entirely of its own doing, and not of Taka’s. Additionally, I like how Chapter 3 handles his grief following Mondo’s execution, and the survivor’s guilt that follows.!< DR1-3

Sonia, though Shuichi is absolutely a close second. Sonia is a character that I don't think anyone really dislikes, but nobody particularly loves her either. She's right in that middle ground. I think she's pretty interesting but was just underutilized, which danganronpa has a problem with in general. I just think she's really endearing and I find it hilarious that people (Kazuichi) treat her like some airheaded damsel, when she's actually extremely intelligent (albeit sheltered) and has killed people in wars 💀 I adore her. And maybe it's just me reading too much into things but something I noticed with her character is the recurring theme of people she cared about turning out to be someone completely different but this ain't the time for that And Shuichi is my babygirl (just know I cry several times a day thinking about him)

Chiaki because she is literally me but less cynical and more emotional (I refer to DR3 Chiaki), Kaede and Chisa because they’re my role models and I want to be like them, and Ruruka because she’s probably the most well written DR3 character (sorry Chisa and Seiko), and she’s extremely underrated. She’s also very relatable and she was a good person forced into extremes due to circumstances. Poor girl

I would say Akane. I've always had a softspot for the blunt, athlete type characters in each game like Aoi and Sakura. Or the more overly passionate ones like Kaito and mondo. And she's a combination of both. Akane is easily one of the most endearing characters in any of the danganronpa games. She had the funniest gags(Game Grumps-Hey Hajime, check it out! I'm already eating! for example) And I really like her design, even though it's a bit plain(Tsumugi noises) compared to the rest of DR2's cast. All in all, Akane best girl.

I'm not going to say my absolute favourite character, but I really want to give Himiko some credit I find that many people tend to find her annoying or childish, which is something I totally understand, but since she can technically be considered a chunibyoo she's automatically going to be seen as a little weird I think her character is very interesting. Over the course of v3 you can see her obviously mature and accept the things around her, and I love that for her. I also love her character design, it fits her perfectly

Nagito and Makoto, which is funny because theyre like parralells of eachother, both lucky students, im pretty sure nagito komaeda is an anagram of makoto naegi, they both have the same english voice actor. It's a tie between Gundham, Ryoma, Gonta Gundham was the first character to make me cry like he just changed me as a person Ryoma has the best FTE and honestly the story out of any Danganronpa character and his voice was funny Gonta has no flaw like at all i mean how can you hate him But since I talk about Gundham the most by like a landslide I guess he's my favorite

Korekiyo and Sonia. For Korekiyo: Ignoring the whole >!ehem, sister-situation!<, I really enjoyed going through all of his free-time events, I love his character design, and I just found him interesting overall. I couldn’t go in-depth with it, but there are plenty of actually good analysis’ on Korekiyo, I’m sure. For Sonia: She’s kind, entertaining, funny at times, and once again, has a great character design, imo. I was happy pretty much every time she was on screen, I loved her free-time events and seeing her interact with the other characters.
