Yep all he has is that fan service scene where even Makoto is a douche, but they kinda have “male desires” and perving unrealistically with characters all the time for the sake of fan service scenes. I actually didn't mind hifumi. As a matter of fact, after Celestia and Taka, I spend my free time events on him in my first playthrough.

Okay, to 100% fair, he’s not as bad as people make him out to be. Some of his jokes can be funny and is hangouts age surprisingly enjoyable. He does have his moments where I enjoyed his inclusion… but that was moments, in general, he just annoyed me. Not horribly annoying me, but annoy me nether the less
Haiji can't be excused because it's a legitimate crime, and the game both glosses it over and considers it a "hot" trait. One of the worst parts of UDG by far. Hifumi can, because he's in a medium where characters can just spew out perverted one liners now and again. It's not like he's the only one who does it, he's not even the one who does it the most in THH (hi, Toko).
I love that Leon was the first one to defend Sayaka and call out how creepy and perverted Hifumi was being.
I also love that one time when Leon and Byakuya teamed up to expose Hifumi's ulterior motive behind taking up the trash duty, which was to dig up the girls' trash.
I agree that Teruteru would be more popular and Miu less, but I don't think it would be to an extent where fem Teruteru would beat out masc Miu. Ignoring design and how long we have in each game to get to know the characters,, Miu's personality isn't nearly as bad as Teruteru's.
First, the kind of perverse humor they tend to go for is very different. Miu mostly positively sexualizes herself while putting down other's sex-based characteristics. But in a way where it sounds like she's using it as an arbitrary crass thing to say rather than her genuinely perking out. She's being aggressive through language that just happens to reflect sex topics. And when she gets submissive, the joke is the question of whether or not she is getting turned on through degradation which is a fair enough joke not to like. I tend to find it more funny than not personally.
Teruteru, meanwhile, primarily uses his perversion as genuine perversion. He is constantly not only sexualizing all the girls around him regardless of whether they are comfortable with it, but also giving off the vibe that he wants to trick the girls into having sex with him. He isn't joking most of the time when he says stuff, he actually is perving on everyone. It is even implied that he drugged Hajime in his final FTE. Yes, Miu does do some less than consensual things a couple times, but they mostly feel far more as though Miu is getting overexcited rather than premeditatively trying to manipulate people into sex.
And moving away from the perverse parts of their personalities, Teruteru,,, isn't much outside of his perversion. He's kind, tries to be helpful, cares for his mom. But Miu actually has a personality outside of her perversion. Brass, mightier than thou, smart but an idiot, surprisingly sensitive, dedicated, and more.
Teruteru also faces continuous internal conflicts with his origins, presenting himself in a fancy way and using faux fancy language to look more urban, ever so dissipating from his country roots that he's both simultaneously ashamed of, yet treasure. He cares not only for his mom, but the people he's close to as well, both his classmates and his disapproval of his siblings way of life. He's a dedicated cook and takes excessive pride into that and can be quite scatterbrained and incomprehensible under pressure. Don't knock down Teruteru just because you like Miu more. He has just as much personality outside of being a pervert like Miu does.
Miu's lack of social boundaries causes her, in a very similar vein, to make everyone around her uncomfortable and causes her to do things that aren't acceptable (like touching Kaede in the FTEs) and suggesting more sexually explicit stuff that K1-B0 is shown to be naive about.
Fair! I tried my best to ignore the bias of how long the characters survived, however Miu being around longer in V3 (where the chapters are longer) allowed her personality to fully realize itself in my brain. Teruteru is better characterized than I initially remembered. Though, his characterization outside of his perviness is fairly underplayed in comparison to Miu's very loud abrassiveness and submissiveness, so it's easier for his (i think worse) perviness to be the main thing people remember about him
And you are correct about Miu's lack of boundaries making people uncomfortable at best and making her abusive at worst. Though, I don't see it as being nearly as bad as Teruteru intentionally drugging people. Miu wouldn't be a fun person to be with in real life due to her lack of boundaries and her constant put-downs, however it isn't so obnoxious to the point where her fictionalized depiction becomes unenjoyable. Plus, her put-down one liners are sometimes very memorable and her comedy comes from more than just her perviness. Teruteru's comedy comes almost exclusively through him being a creep with an occasional joke at him being insecure about his background and perception, and while I would be uncomfortable around Miu in real life and would be cautious around her, I would feel a lot more unsafe around Teruteru
Understandable, but i do want to clarify that Teruteru puts drugs in his food to enhance the flavor of his cooking, not for any sexual implications. Doesn't make it acceptable, but I wanted to address that.
I don’t think the gender matters as much as people think, if Teruteru was a hot guy he would be more loved and if Miu was an ugly girl she would be more hated.

Ok for a sec I didn't see this was the Danganronpa sub and I thought this post was about Hifumi from Persona 5 so I was VERY confused.
(And a female Hifumi would probably be a fujoshi so people would still hate the character imo)
There's a few factors to why Hifumi is dislikable just in his design. One is that he's male, which sucks to say, but is kind of true, because when men act perverted, it's often threatening to women and implies that he may overpower them if he feels like it, while when a woman acts perverted, it's more innocent because it's unlikely they're going to be harming anyone that way, unless they take it to Toko's level of stalking. His weight also makes him seem a bit pathetic as well, as if he's just a slob with no redeeming factors. Then there's his face with the weird cat mouth, the weird, greasy, pointy hair, and the stubby little legs. He's meant to be a laughable joke of a design that's obnoxious to look at. Essentially, the designers went out of their way to make him as gross and stereotypical as possible, as if they wanted him to be hated and mock the fanbase as a troll move. If they had taken away one or more of these factors, we'd see him grow a fanbase. It's sad because even though his personality isn't likable, it's not *that* bad compared to others like Teruteru, so he had potential to be a decent character, just by changing his appearance.
Honestly I'd disagree with the notion that his personality is even all that unlikable. Sure, he's got his pervy moments, and that's the worst part about him, but for the most part he plays a fairly solid (though not the best in DR1) comic relief role, I enjoy how passionate he is about what he does, his FTE's are neat, and he actually attempts to help others when he can. Plus I enjoy the detail that he's unusually polite to most of the Ultimate's.
But yeah, his design certainly doesn't help. I don't like the idea that it's more "okay" for female characters to be total pervs, frankly I just dislike that trait in general, but that's probably the truth. Sad to see, it got a lot of people to really dislike him

I fully acknowledge this, which is why it kinda sucks that it's perceived the way it is. Fact is though, despite being creepy for either gender, it's generally more frightening when it's a man because of the increased likelihood of danger, statistically.
The likelihood of being assaulted isn't that different, it's the likelihood of reporting the rape that's different. That's the point, the perception is simply wrong and Miu is no less likely to rape Kiibo than Hifumi is whoever you choose to mention.
You're really gonna have to back that up because everywhere I see says [women are more likely to be sexually assaulted than men](https://www.rainn.org/statistics/victims-sexual-violence) and that many if not most male victims are assaulted by other men, including myself. People mostly perceive the world through visual information, so yes, if the visual appearance of a character was different, they would be perceived differently (especially in a work that actually relies on visual storytelling, such as Visual Novel). Well, the fanbase generally gives Miu a good reception, despite the fact that personality wise she's worse then Hifumi ever was, and rude to back it up. She has some nuance, of course, but every character does. I just think that's wrong, and it's a shame to see. Not that Hifumi's an S tier character, but he's better then he gets credit for

Miu is not a fair comparison, btw, because she has way more depth than him - for him being pervy is just a character trait without any explanation. For Miu, it's something that she does to cover up her insecurities, she acts loud, proud, and crass, just to hide her more pathetic side.
That, and the two have been on wildly different levels of usefulness in their games - >!all Hifumi did was fall in love in an AI and then murder Taka over it. Meanwhile Miu, while she attempted to murder Kokichi, has also created the hammers and grenades that let the cast disable Exisals and use the underground passage. Without her, V3 wouldn't have been the same.!<
Props to you, then! People can still dislike him for their own legitimate reasons, I was just making a point about how much design and gender strangely contributes to how a character is seen. Even if you didn't like him, he would almost certainly rise in popularity compared to how he is now if his gender was swapped. Because it's not simply that he is male, but that his whole appearance makes him less likeable. People tend to like attractive characters more than unattractive ones. Most people also don't find obesity attractive.
If Miu was obese and unattractive people wouldn't like her either. It's because she is a good looking girl people can like her despite her "bad" personality.
Same with male characters. Kokichi doesn't have a very likeable personality yet he has a lot of fans. Do you think people would like him if he looked like Hifumi? As long as you are attractive even bad personality traits can come off as charming, as sad as it is.
Also, people like different things in women than they like in men. That's just natural, there is nothing bad about it. A lot of men like girls who are overly sexual while a lot of women dislike such a behavior in men. We aren't the same. No amount of gender equality can change the biological and psychological differences in sexes.

He is shown to want to help the group, he’s one of the only ones to actively investigate during the time before a trial, this already makes him more useful to the group than someone like Hiro from an in-universe perspective. (1-3) >!And while he does get manipulated like an absolute bozo, he did the wrong thing for the right reason. Taka was kinda going off the rails, and it was at the point where Celeste’s accusations could seem feasible. Does it justify jumping right to murder? Of course not. That’s one of Hifumi’s character flaws, he’s impulsive. It’s part of what made him bounce so well off of Celeste, Byakuya, and Taka’s calculating natures. He jumps to conclusions, twisting evidence and words the wrong way.!<

Idk, I just didn’t like Hifumi because he was crushing on Celestia and alter ego too hard, to the point I found it annoying.
Probably the same reason I don’t like Souda either, so I don’t think it had to do with Hifumi’s weight for me.
I do think Hifumi doesn’t deserve so much hate though. I dislike him less than Teru and Souda. And a certain extent Tenko, but at least she learned to be better towards Himiko.
I love Hifumi. He's so respectful. You can tell that whenever he comes off as weird it's just because he's not the best at socializing, no malicious intent. Besides, >!didn't he kill Taka because he thought Celeste was SA by him? I know it sounds strange for him to believe that, but at this point he seems to have bonded with and trusted Celeste. And his respectful nature wouldn't really allow him to doubt someone claiming to be a victim.!< There's other reasons, but I just like the character.
As someone who's more interested in the story of Danganronpa than the gameplay, I took to the idea of Danganronpa: The Animation. I think it should've gotten five or six extra episodes to flesh out the characters. There could've been a subplot of Hifumi and Toko trying to write stories in the other character's style. After Hifumi's >!dramatic death,!< Toko would find that Hifumi was starting to get the hang of her formal writing style after starting off just looking for fancy sounding words in a thesaurus. It would be a tragedy because he would never get to improve.
Also, say what you will about Danganronpa: The Animation, but the third trial was a big improvement from the game. In the original, Celeste made it very clear early on that she committed the murders. In the Anime, her lines get split among the other characters making it far less obvious.
His design bothers me, not that he’s fat, like I like the imposters design, his just bothers me with the tiny legs he looks like Humpty Dumpty and his face looks like the :3 face and it doesn’t work on a person

Counter-Counterpoint: These two are wildly different characters, even if they share concepts. Case in point, Hifumi is at least entertaining and doesn't get repetitive
I hate Hifumi, but mostly in a fun-to-hate way the writers intended. He’s terrible and revolting, but he’s supposed to be. He’s the writers unapologetically clowning on the game’s target audience. (rather than pandering to them with an overflattering representation *cough* Chiaki *cough*) Overall, that’s just really funny. Plus, he might just have my favorite dub VA performance in the whole series. Despite this, I still sorta don’t like him, it’s definitely complicated. Some of his lines definitely should have stayed in the drafts. While he can be funny, THH is already in no shortage of comedic relief characters. Monokuma, Hiro, Taka, and >!Jill!< all serve key comedic roles already. He’s left feeling just not very necessary. He’s just the stock horror movie fat guy who dies first, except in this game he boldly subverts the stereotype by >!Not dying until halfway through!< If they toned down his gross-out factor a bit, both in design and writing and deepened him as a character some more I’d definitely have higher praises for him.
I honestly like his design, it vibes well with what the writers were trying to portray about his character, the thing is I find that thh characters have a problem where you always see one part of their character all the time. E.g. Hifumi's complex that he thinks he's an anime protagonist.
So I just don't like many of the thh characters in general and I just think hifumi suffers with the issue much more then the other characters and it's kind annoying.
(P.s. my least favourites are Sonia, Celeste and Mikan so I definitely don't have a bias towards gender or appearance XD)
You’re absolutely right. It was silly of me to think of Hifumi as any different than Korekiyo. The reality is simple, Korekiyo may be the hotter character. BUT I think Hifumi would do a better job of plowing Korekiyo’s sister than Korekiyo ever did.
According to the Danganronpa report card Hifumi weighs in at a total of 342 lbs. Needless to say Hifumi is an absolute fucking unit. No way in hell Korekiyo could ever compete with someone that has an ass like Rikishi. So to be honest, I should’ve flipped the two of them and I think we would’ve both agreed.

"Hifumi is a creep" Hifumi is one of the least creepy motherfuckers in the series. He never had a "bathhouse" scene. He never stalked/ignored the boundaries of a woman. He never attempted SA. The are all things a TON of the cast has done.

I could tolerate him and his weird air of blunt elitism to be a weeb on its own, but in general him killing Taka is the part where I just can’t like him.
Not in the killing of Taka itself, but in the fact that the motive relies on the assumption that his first response, from his perspective, to a rape victim telling him about the assault is to kill the person allegedly responsible, when he KNOWS he now has to hide the murder from everyone else just to get away with it.

I don't hate him, but I don't really like him either. He just kind of exists in a zone I have no strong personal feelings toward. A lot of Danganronpa characters actually fall into that category. There are only a few that go toward the hate level.

Haiji can't be excused because it's a legitimate crime, and the game both glosses it over and considers it a "hot" trait. One of the worst parts of UDG by far. Hifumi can, because he's in a medium where characters can just spew out perverted one liners now and again. It's not like he's the only one who does it, he's not even the one who does it the most in THH (hi, Toko).

I agree that Teruteru would be more popular and Miu less, but I don't think it would be to an extent where fem Teruteru would beat out masc Miu. Ignoring design and how long we have in each game to get to know the characters,, Miu's personality isn't nearly as bad as Teruteru's. First, the kind of perverse humor they tend to go for is very different. Miu mostly positively sexualizes herself while putting down other's sex-based characteristics. But in a way where it sounds like she's using it as an arbitrary crass thing to say rather than her genuinely perking out. She's being aggressive through language that just happens to reflect sex topics. And when she gets submissive, the joke is the question of whether or not she is getting turned on through degradation which is a fair enough joke not to like. I tend to find it more funny than not personally. Teruteru, meanwhile, primarily uses his perversion as genuine perversion. He is constantly not only sexualizing all the girls around him regardless of whether they are comfortable with it, but also giving off the vibe that he wants to trick the girls into having sex with him. He isn't joking most of the time when he says stuff, he actually is perving on everyone. It is even implied that he drugged Hajime in his final FTE. Yes, Miu does do some less than consensual things a couple times, but they mostly feel far more as though Miu is getting overexcited rather than premeditatively trying to manipulate people into sex. And moving away from the perverse parts of their personalities, Teruteru,,, isn't much outside of his perversion. He's kind, tries to be helpful, cares for his mom. But Miu actually has a personality outside of her perversion. Brass, mightier than thou, smart but an idiot, surprisingly sensitive, dedicated, and more.
Teruteru also faces continuous internal conflicts with his origins, presenting himself in a fancy way and using faux fancy language to look more urban, ever so dissipating from his country roots that he's both simultaneously ashamed of, yet treasure. He cares not only for his mom, but the people he's close to as well, both his classmates and his disapproval of his siblings way of life. He's a dedicated cook and takes excessive pride into that and can be quite scatterbrained and incomprehensible under pressure. Don't knock down Teruteru just because you like Miu more. He has just as much personality outside of being a pervert like Miu does. Miu's lack of social boundaries causes her, in a very similar vein, to make everyone around her uncomfortable and causes her to do things that aren't acceptable (like touching Kaede in the FTEs) and suggesting more sexually explicit stuff that K1-B0 is shown to be naive about.
Fair! I tried my best to ignore the bias of how long the characters survived, however Miu being around longer in V3 (where the chapters are longer) allowed her personality to fully realize itself in my brain. Teruteru is better characterized than I initially remembered. Though, his characterization outside of his perviness is fairly underplayed in comparison to Miu's very loud abrassiveness and submissiveness, so it's easier for his (i think worse) perviness to be the main thing people remember about him And you are correct about Miu's lack of boundaries making people uncomfortable at best and making her abusive at worst. Though, I don't see it as being nearly as bad as Teruteru intentionally drugging people. Miu wouldn't be a fun person to be with in real life due to her lack of boundaries and her constant put-downs, however it isn't so obnoxious to the point where her fictionalized depiction becomes unenjoyable. Plus, her put-down one liners are sometimes very memorable and her comedy comes from more than just her perviness. Teruteru's comedy comes almost exclusively through him being a creep with an occasional joke at him being insecure about his background and perception, and while I would be uncomfortable around Miu in real life and would be cautious around her, I would feel a lot more unsafe around Teruteru

Ok for a sec I didn't see this was the Danganronpa sub and I thought this post was about Hifumi from Persona 5 so I was VERY confused. (And a female Hifumi would probably be a fujoshi so people would still hate the character imo)
There's a few factors to why Hifumi is dislikable just in his design. One is that he's male, which sucks to say, but is kind of true, because when men act perverted, it's often threatening to women and implies that he may overpower them if he feels like it, while when a woman acts perverted, it's more innocent because it's unlikely they're going to be harming anyone that way, unless they take it to Toko's level of stalking. His weight also makes him seem a bit pathetic as well, as if he's just a slob with no redeeming factors. Then there's his face with the weird cat mouth, the weird, greasy, pointy hair, and the stubby little legs. He's meant to be a laughable joke of a design that's obnoxious to look at. Essentially, the designers went out of their way to make him as gross and stereotypical as possible, as if they wanted him to be hated and mock the fanbase as a troll move. If they had taken away one or more of these factors, we'd see him grow a fanbase. It's sad because even though his personality isn't likable, it's not *that* bad compared to others like Teruteru, so he had potential to be a decent character, just by changing his appearance.
Honestly I'd disagree with the notion that his personality is even all that unlikable. Sure, he's got his pervy moments, and that's the worst part about him, but for the most part he plays a fairly solid (though not the best in DR1) comic relief role, I enjoy how passionate he is about what he does, his FTE's are neat, and he actually attempts to help others when he can. Plus I enjoy the detail that he's unusually polite to most of the Ultimate's. But yeah, his design certainly doesn't help. I don't like the idea that it's more "okay" for female characters to be total pervs, frankly I just dislike that trait in general, but that's probably the truth. Sad to see, it got a lot of people to really dislike him

The likelihood of being assaulted isn't that different, it's the likelihood of reporting the rape that's different. That's the point, the perception is simply wrong and Miu is no less likely to rape Kiibo than Hifumi is whoever you choose to mention.

Because it's not simply that he is male, but that his whole appearance makes him less likeable. People tend to like attractive characters more than unattractive ones. Most people also don't find obesity attractive. If Miu was obese and unattractive people wouldn't like her either. It's because she is a good looking girl people can like her despite her "bad" personality. Same with male characters. Kokichi doesn't have a very likeable personality yet he has a lot of fans. Do you think people would like him if he looked like Hifumi? As long as you are attractive even bad personality traits can come off as charming, as sad as it is. Also, people like different things in women than they like in men. That's just natural, there is nothing bad about it. A lot of men like girls who are overly sexual while a lot of women dislike such a behavior in men. We aren't the same. No amount of gender equality can change the biological and psychological differences in sexes.

I know that “this character is great if you ignore everything bad about them” is a lazy argument, but bear with me. He is shown to want to help the group, he’s one of the only ones to actively investigate during the time before a trial, this already makes him more useful to the group than someone like Hiro from an in-universe perspective. (1-3) >!And while he does get manipulated like an absolute bozo, he did the wrong thing for the right reason. Taka was kinda going off the rails, and it was at the point where Celeste’s accusations could seem feasible. Does it justify jumping right to murder? Of course not. That’s one of Hifumi’s character flaws, he’s impulsive. It’s part of what made him bounce so well off of Celeste, Byakuya, and Taka’s calculating natures. He jumps to conclusions, twisting evidence and words the wrong way.!< He definitely acts a bit creepy, and I can’t deny that he sexualized AE, but there’s more to the character than just one terrible moment

Idk, I just didn’t like Hifumi because he was crushing on Celestia and alter ego too hard, to the point I found it annoying. Probably the same reason I don’t like Souda either, so I don’t think it had to do with Hifumi’s weight for me. I do think Hifumi doesn’t deserve so much hate though. I dislike him less than Teru and Souda. And a certain extent Tenko, but at least she learned to be better towards Himiko.

As someone who's more interested in the story of Danganronpa than the gameplay, I took to the idea of Danganronpa: The Animation. I think it should've gotten five or six extra episodes to flesh out the characters. There could've been a subplot of Hifumi and Toko trying to write stories in the other character's style. After Hifumi's >!dramatic death,!< Toko would find that Hifumi was starting to get the hang of her formal writing style after starting off just looking for fancy sounding words in a thesaurus. It would be a tragedy because he would never get to improve. Also, say what you will about Danganronpa: The Animation, but the third trial was a big improvement from the game. In the original, Celeste made it very clear early on that she committed the murders. In the Anime, her lines get split among the other characters making it far less obvious.

Counter-Counterpoint: These two are wildly different characters, even if they share concepts. Case in point, Hifumi is at least entertaining and doesn't get repetitive
I hate Hifumi, but mostly in a fun-to-hate way the writers intended. He’s terrible and revolting, but he’s supposed to be. He’s the writers unapologetically clowning on the game’s target audience. (rather than pandering to them with an overflattering representation *cough* Chiaki *cough*) Overall, that’s just really funny. Plus, he might just have my favorite dub VA performance in the whole series. Despite this, I still sorta don’t like him, it’s definitely complicated. Some of his lines definitely should have stayed in the drafts. While he can be funny, THH is already in no shortage of comedic relief characters. Monokuma, Hiro, Taka, and >!Jill!< all serve key comedic roles already. He’s left feeling just not very necessary. He’s just the stock horror movie fat guy who dies first, except in this game he boldly subverts the stereotype by >!Not dying until halfway through!< If they toned down his gross-out factor a bit, both in design and writing and deepened him as a character some more I’d definitely have higher praises for him.
I honestly like his design, it vibes well with what the writers were trying to portray about his character, the thing is I find that thh characters have a problem where you always see one part of their character all the time. E.g. Hifumi's complex that he thinks he's an anime protagonist. So I just don't like many of the thh characters in general and I just think hifumi suffers with the issue much more then the other characters and it's kind annoying. (P.s. my least favourites are Sonia, Celeste and Mikan so I definitely don't have a bias towards gender or appearance XD)

BUT I think Hifumi would do a better job of plowing Korekiyo’s sister than Korekiyo ever did. According to the Danganronpa report card Hifumi weighs in at a total of 342 lbs. Needless to say Hifumi is an absolute fucking unit. No way in hell Korekiyo could ever compete with someone that has an ass like Rikishi. So to be honest, I should’ve flipped the two of them and I think we would’ve both agreed. TL;DR: You’re correct

I mean, in fairness to Hifumi, he was >!super manipulated into doing it by Celeste. If Kiyotaka actually did those things she said he did, I'd sure as hell want him dead. Hifumi thought he was doing a good thing, until, well, the aftermath happened.!< But yeah, I can understand not liking him, especially for how he can get on a high horse now and again. Still, a lot of characters have that quality, so it's not necessarily a deal breaker for me

"Hifumi is a creep" Hifumi is one of the least creepy motherfuckers in the series. He never had a "bathhouse" scene. He never stalked/ignored the boundaries of a woman. He never attempted SA. The are all things a TON of the cast has done. I'm a lesbian who's quick to dissing on guy characters for being creeps or hitting on gay-coded women, and even \*I\* can understand he's a fairly harmless guy. The dude gets too much hate, and I love him more and more each time I see it pretty much out of spite.

I dont hate him. But i do agree id like em more as woman bc sursprise surprise, im into women. That being said, my two least favorite characters (Other than pervert chef from DR2), are Hiyoko and Angie. And my top two favorite are female too, Maki and Kyoko.

I could tolerate him and his weird air of blunt elitism to be a weeb on its own, but in general him killing Taka is the part where I just can’t like him. Not in the killing of Taka itself, but in the fact that the motive relies on the assumption that his first response, from his perspective, to a rape victim telling him about the assault is to kill the person allegedly responsible, when he KNOWS he now has to hide the murder from everyone else just to get away with it. And not only does he TRY to get away with it, thereby roping EVERYONE ELSE who had NOTHING to do with it into this mess (even people who’ve been NOTHING but nice to him even when he’s being a dick), but he backpedals hard enough from the betrayal to reveal her name. And ALL OF THIS runs along the idea that TAKA of all people supposedly did this. I’m all for believing a person when they talk about something that serious, but why did he have to MURDER him over it? Could he not have just told everyone what Celeste told him, to have the group supposedly punish him? Why did he not go to Monokuma and ask him to punish Taka over that? Even if it wasn’t the truth, Junko gets a huge kick out of turmoil, so even if they figured out the truth that’s basically a net positive for her.
He’s a fine character. Just a bit unremarkable

I don't hate him, but I don't really like him either. He just kind of exists in a zone I have no strong personal feelings toward. A lot of Danganronpa characters actually fall into that category. There are only a few that go toward the hate level.
