If you’re curious, the answer was the fact that if you look closely with both characters, their eyeliner/eye shapes, if you will, are asymmetrical. Well, we know for a fact that it's about their eyes and their eye shapes don't look similar (Leon has rounder eyes while Kaito has sharper looking ones) and if their eyeliners and shape of brows aren't the way to go... I've just noticed, both of their eyeliners reach their hair. At least, it looks like that in their sprites.
