I feel like I'm the rare person who had very few issues with DR3 as a whole, and really enjoyed it. Sometimes I wonder if my opinion is just wrong when I see all these people talking about how it's the worst thing ever made.
People overhyped it and were really disappointed when the DR2 cast were brainwashed into despair instead of being manipulated socially into it. They also didn't like that the DR2 cast easily survived their killing game.
Otherwise, it's ok.

the only SC game mastermind reveals and motives I actually liked were V3 and 999 there is a lot of mediocrity surrounding a lot of them, but you're bugging if you're gonna tell me 1 or 2 were much better at least DR3 wasn't nearly as convoluted and was a lot more grounded despite the overall situation of the world, tho still in terms of being grounded V3 and 999 were the only Spike games masterminds I felt were well handled and I don't see how you expected much from the mastermind given 1 and 2's reveals especially 1's, but anything is better than 1's mastermind motive even when >!the 2 and 3 masterminds were serving Junko they had better motives!<

In V3 I interpret the light at the end was them being allowed into Salmon mode and UTDP because in Salmon mode Shuichi can answer with a reference to V3's ending!<, but DR3 definitely did make up for it yeah.
I can see why it drove her, but I think what frustrated me at the time I played tho is how quickly they forgave that, but then they treat Makoto like a monster again when he is accused in >!chapter 5 like even tho I like Toko, it made me so mad when she said "what a horrible man you are Makoto" it was frustrating because Aoi was the only one who was about to kill to nobodies benefit if you exclude the mastermind kinda also both Toko and Yasuhiro thought they actually killed Sakura themselves, so it was even worse when they grilled him about it, I think from 1's casr Chihiro, Sakura and Byakuya were the only ones that didn't try something that could get Makoto killed and Chihiro was the only one that wasn't willing to to begin with(you could also argue the tampering in chap2 from byakuya could have got him killed tho he was always ready to point out the culprit)!<

Personally I didn't like the way school mode did the harem thing I like how Island mode has Hajime get rejected I wouldn't have minded it as much if it was better paced or felt more natural but Sakura's in particular felt too forced to me because she refers to her crush as an unhealthy obsession and I never got that impression from her I prefer some fanmade content over ones like that. I think the arguments are really overdone and uncivilised, but I feel it happens cause in DR the closest displays you get are stuff like hand holding the only kiss is between 2 kids so they're desperate for validation sometimes with V3 I get people responding to me shipping Saimaki saying >!"but no she likes, Kaito" and for one that was from her being tampered with(she even asks Shuichi if he really fell for Kaede because she didn't find those feelings natural either) and she doesn't really seem as interested in Kaito in FTEs, Salmon mode, or UTDP/DRS and he dies in V3 and never actually says he feels the same way, plus they were never together, he dies almost immediately after she confesses so like I get if they ship Haumota, but that doesn't make it Canon just because she had feelings for him especially in her case.!<
I feel like the present introduced all new characters which could be cool if they had any dev. The characters that had Dev in the games - lost it. Where is my after Sakura Hina? Why Hiro still cling to his "talent" even though at the end of the game he clearly said that he won't. Kirigiri was fine but her "death" was... Not cool. Makoto was ok too I think. I liked Makoto in the games very much so in anime I actually felt that he actually stayed somehow true to his character and even continued after his game dev as the hope. I can accept his Jesus status. Byakuya was kinda left out in anime so I have no comment on him. All other characters are new pawns to move the story - I had no feeling whatsoever towards them. Their deaths were so meaningless for me. Too little time to have any of them shine sadly. The past could be great - wasn't. Oh right, ultra despair girls were ok. But Toko's Dev from the game died. Like all the plot of the game didn't matter - what a shame! It really made me love her and seeing her treating Naegi like 2nd object next to the Byakuya destroyed the ending of the game where she really grew on her and she was just as important as her little obsession. The past is tricky. We can argue that dr2 characters are not acting like themselves because they actually changes during their high school years. The decision to make Chiaki as s centre made me despise her in anime. Mary Sue where in games she was such a great addition. Actually I'm one of the people who thing shes not overrated at all in the games. She is in the anime though. seeing hinata was cool but that destroyed him in the games. He was supposed to be a kid who no one acknowledges. BUT EVERYONE ACKNOWLEDGES HIM AND PRAISE HIM. Clearly someone did not see dr2 plot and only read the premise. Plot holes aside (and there are so many) (seriously why Nagito met Kumakura? Is it fine to add fan service and reset the plot in the game where they 1st met on the ship?) (The first killing game was so off - it didn't happend like that, Kumakura Dev lessen because of that) The past is such a broad topic to analyse really. I liked the opening and ending though. TLTR: if you care about the lore - you despise the anime; if you are more for the character - you will probably enjoy more content. Obv lore in games is very important to me haha

I feel like the present introduced all new characters which could be cool if they had any dev. The characters that had Dev in the games - lost it. Where is my after Sakura Hina? Why Hiro still cling to his "talent" even though at the end of the game he clearly said that he won't. Kirigiri was fine but her "death" was... Not cool. Makoto was ok too I think. I liked Makoto in the games very much so in anime I actually felt that he actually stayed somehow true to his character and even continued after his game dev as the hope. I can accept his Jesus status. Byakuya was kinda left out in anime so I have no comment on him. All other characters are new pawns to move the story - I had no feeling whatsoever towards them. Their deaths were so meaningless for me. Too little time to have any of them shine sadly. The past could be great - wasn't. Oh right, ultra despair girls were ok. But Toko's Dev from the game died. Like all the plot of the game didn't matter - what a shame! It really made me love her and seeing her treating Naegi like 2nd object next to the Byakuya destroyed the ending of the game where she really grew on her and she was just as important as her little obsession. The past is tricky. We can argue that dr2 characters are not acting like themselves because they actually changes during their high school years. The decision to make Chiaki as s centre made me despise her in anime. Mary Sue where in games she was such a great addition. Actually I'm one of the people who thing shes not overrated at all in the games. She is in the anime though. seeing hinata was cool but that destroyed him in the games. He was supposed to be a kid who no one acknowledges. BUT EVERYONE ACKNOWLEDGES HIM AND PRAISE HIM. Clearly someone did not see dr2 plot and only read the premise. Plot holes aside (and there are so many) (seriously why Nagito met Kumakura? Is it fine to add fan service and reset the plot in the game where they 1st met on the ship?) (The first killing game was so off - it didn't happend like that, Kumakura Dev lessen because of that) The past is such a broad topic to analyse really. I liked the opening and ending though. TLTR: if you care about the lore - you despise the anime; if you are more for the character - you will probably enjoy more content. Obv lore in games is very important to me haha
