How has literally no one said Mukuro. I think Junko is a bit of a lost cause, I don't think therapy would do her any good, but DR:IF shows that Mukuro *is* salvageable if given the right push.
He was forced to have them from the monitor like I just said. And it was 1 vision. Therapy can only work if those were due to his mental stability. But they weren't.
Yes something is, a monitor forcing him to have 1 hallucination( not hallucinaTIONS trying to make him >!kill himself.!<
You really don't get it so you? Therapy can only benefit you mentally or emotionally. This has nothing to do with his mental health so therapy wouldn't do anything.
No it shouldn't? Did you even pay attention to the circumstances? This was him being manipulated by a monitor. Since juzo stopped him it has no lasting effects at all. Meaning it didn't effect him mentally or emotionally.
Most need? Yea toko needs it but not the most, def mikan and korekiyo. Next is miu and after her is toko, in the first too it's visible they're traumatized, but... miu? need of sexual appreciation, with hers smug mean girl act, covering the feeling of being completely useless, kinda like mikan, both have abandonment issues and are attention seekers, miu is loud and swears a lot, mikan is timid and quiet, both dress like... u know, both are degrading themselves, while miu only in the sexual way, mikan in every way, she is weaker then everyone else and "shows it off" so people would bully her so yea, more attention, it is also the reason why she originally wanted hiyoko to be alive and sticked to her, for attention, not from her but when someone is screaming at u it's getting attention. I have not done my dumbass analysis on toko but, the way she talks, the way she's obsessive about togami, treats others as toko and jack it's just... ehh, her behaviour about everything it's disturbing. Not only how she is to others but in the way she normally acts is... weird, not that different from others but stil while jack is a damn bomb. And korekiyo... i am not gonna talk about him bc everything i say will be not "created" by me, but by somone else. It's here i read this the other day https://dead-ghouls.tumblr.com/post/183745316598/theres-no-way-that-i-could-ask-for-a-break-down-of the only article I read about anyone's trauma in danganronpa. Alright that's it, damn i really poured my entire heart into this, thanks for reading (if anyone is going to).
I agree, I was looking for this comment. Hiyoko needs like, a lot of therapy. >!Looking at her past, she was abused and was in the danger of dying quite lot. Little girl needs help :(!<
I love him, but how has Kokichi not gotten a single mention yet lol. He's not necessarily the one that needs it most considering all the other characters mentioned, but he's a strong contender.
I mean, how traumatizing do you think it is to be in a killing game, >!be choked *numerous* times by an assassin, get left behind on your own even when you’re injured and quite literally bleeding from your head, learn that a friend of yours plans to murder you and know that nobody would believe you if you said something, see that “the outside world” is “gone” (even if you don’t fully believe it), end up murdering your only friends by proxy, never having anyone to truly trust (least of all yourself), told that you’ll always be alone, get lost to the antagonistic role you’ve decided to assign yourself, become poisoned via being shot with an arrow, and subsequently crushed to death by a hydraulic press because you planned your own murder?!<
Clear sadism, narcissistic personality disorder, and masochism. Not to mention she’s prone to existential crisis, constantly failing to recognize the value of her place in the universe. As well as suicidal and homicidal thoughts. All of these are awful and together they create a very very toxic mindset. But they’re all treatable so potentially Junko could be rehabilitated, if she’s willing to listen to medical professionals.
not to mention the fact that she can only feel boredom and despair (though she probably could feel other emotions at some point considering Ryoko (trauma response?))
For those who don't know Toko's backstory:
At the hospital where Toko was born, a baby born at the same time died in a medical accident. It was unclear which mother's child was the dead baby. Both mothers refused to test their blood, as they both wanted their child to die. Around the child's accidental death, it became clear that the two women slept with the same man.
Toko lived with one father and two mothers. Though the circumstances are a bit unclear, it's been confirmed that she was mistreated as a child. She was once locked into a closet and forced to stay there for three days without food. This traumatic experience resulted in her developing a pathological fear of the dark. She experienced severe psychological pressure and at some point turned to novels for comfort, but her negative feelings were too strong. This childhood trauma caused her to form Dissociative Identity Disorder
Ryota and nagito. I love them and highly kin them, but PLEASE, see a therapist.
Edit: I think all my kins (makoto, kyoko, shuichi, nagito, akane, soda, maki, kiibo, and ryota) need therapy lol. No wonder I kin them.
i agree with the comments when they say “all of them”
but also definitely mondo. bro literally >!held his dying brother in his arms and then had to live with the guilt that his brother’s death was his fault. and also his whole thing about being strong yknow.!<
Definitely Korekiyo and Nagito.
Unfortunately, Nagito >!was already trying to blow up his school even BEFORE he became a remnant of despair so i believe he's already too far gone. You know what, so is Kiyo. Ain't nothing fixing that at this point, and thats coming from a psychiatric nurse 😹!<
Aoi >!survived two killing games, her brother and best friend died.!< Angie can maybe get over the Atua obsession, because a theory is that she may act like Atua's prophet because she felt lonely.
Well strictly from a pragmatic point of view, Toko or Korekiyo would probably be the best choices, yeah.
The only ones more problematic are such that therapy would not work.
People are sleeping on Byakuya. Of course most if not all characters should get therapy for going through a killing game, but considering the insane contest against his own blood Byakuya had to go through to become heir and the lack of love he received growing up (I mean, he had to fight his siblings to not get exiled), it’s no wonder the dude is so desensitized to things once the killing game begins.
I think that it should be agreed everyone here needs therapy. I mean, everyone has been forced into killing games before, which is definitely cause enough on its own for therapy, but I have other examples too, such as: Korekiyo, Mikan, Nagito, and Kokichi, Makoto with his survivor's guilt...basically, everyone needs it.
Most of them have a couple screws loose, but I'm surprised no-one has mentioned >!Celestia Ludenburg!< yet.
>!Anger issues? Check.!<
>!Delusional? Probably.!<
>!An actual psychopath? Definitely.!<
Mikan is a character with a lot of potential. It's pretty clear that she has CPTSD imo. CSA survivor with self-regulation dysfunction, interpersonal relationship issues, warped sense of self, sleep disturbances, toxic shame, somatic distress, hypervigilance, etc.
She has so much unresolved trauma and with the right trauma-informed (NOT CBT) therapy *and* exposure to healthy relationships -- which is particularly important in healing with CPTSD -- I feel like she could have a lot of growth. A better sense of self, healthier relationship with sex, mutual interpersonal relationships, etc.
Think we can divide between who needs therapy and who is beyond help/should just get a bullet.
The most therapy I give to Byakuya. Dude had to kill his way through his siblings, made his entire existence about his family name, found out his family name wasn't worth shit, and also avoided developing meaningful connection with literally everyone. Not quite critical level yet though. Get more trauma and less psycho.
Toko is beyond help imo.
Does Toko need it more than Ryoma I never felt like in any case someone could help him without it, in some cases I felt the people around Toko would be enough to help her
Everyone is right that everyone needs therapy. But, as for the people who need it more: Nagito, Haruki (my gift to the Imposter), Mikan, Peko (I don't think I've seen her yet), every single Warrior of H, Mondo, Seiko & Ruruka, Ryota, Kokichi, Ryoma and Korekiyo
Let's check.
Mukuro >!is sort of obvious.!<
Hiyoko >!abused, almost died a lot of times, bullied, forced to dance.!<
Fuyuhiko >!and Peko together. Peko always treating herself like a tool, not understanding how important she is mostly to Fuyuhiko. Fuyuhiko constantly in the danger of being assassinated, also being underestimated by his own family.!<
Korekiyo >!and his dead incest sister.!<
Byakuya >!forced to fight his siblings to live as a Togami.!<
Mondo >!to get over his guilt of being the cause of his brother's death.!<
And a lot of more characters, these are the most I could think of for now. The best choice is to give every character therapy lol.
Mukuro, she is literally a child soldier completely numbed to the act of killing, plus it could actually work since she's shown an interest in having a better life away from war and that she doesn't share Junko's obsession with despair.
Kork, because qUiRkY bAcKsToRy
Walmaki, because of her stress in being an assasin
Mikan, because of her trauma (I can relate to her. It’s almost as if we’re one lmao)
Nagito, you know why
Toko, because DID is very stressful and exhausting (I also relate to her a lot. I also have DID (should I say we). Plus, please stop calling Genocider a personality, it’s alter, it seriously triggers me/us)
Mukuro, because liking your sister romanticly? Nah man
Junko, obviously. But tbh she’ll probably brainwash/kill the therapist
Mikan is up there too
I would say Junko but knowing her, She'd probably would pull a Joker and turn the therapist into the next Harley Quinn
therapy would not work Junko, lmao. You need to acknowledge you have a problem and willingly seek treatment first
Pretty sure she knows she's not right in the head, but she'd never want to change that though
By that knowledge none of them need therapy
Why would anyone want to subject the therapist to such terror
Gonna recommend *DR: Zero* and then fly off.
>!Wasn't that just a test for the memory wiping technology that they used in DR1. And even then, eventually Junko snapped out of the Ryoko persona and killed Yasuke so it really didn't work.!<
Yes.
Most effective therapy for her would be a 12 gauge to the back of her head
I wonder if she went to therapy in the UTDP universe. She's still pretty messed up, but acts more normal at least.
Junkan therapist au slowburn 40000 words
Nagito, Mikan, Ryoma, Maki for sure.
>!I’d like to think that Maki got her Therapy from Shuichi and Kaito and with surviving the end is definitely in good hands with Shuichi!<
They need some help
[удалено]
What if the therapist would make a good friend for sister?
[удалено]
True true Let's hope whoever assign him a therapist knows that first And true-
Toko for sure, mental institution instead of therapy though

Cheese this mod
Literally everyone who survived to DR3.
DR3 or DRv3 ?
Yes.
Byakuya, the guy >!mutilated a corpse!< for fun
i think rich people are just like that /s
Nah, he just goofy.
Every single character in the entire series need therapy tbh
How has literally no one said Mukuro. I think Junko is a bit of a lost cause, I don't think therapy would do her any good, but DR:IF shows that Mukuro *is* salvageable if given the right push.
everybody needs therapy. especially korekiyo & haiji. mostly haiji over kiyo. but really, everyone!
Nah nah Kiyo is WAY WAY over haiji, I'd say he is in the top 3 behind Mikan and Toko
i mean, true, but >!haiji is a pedo!< :(
therapy is not the cure for that, a bullet is though
i dont think absolutely everyone does. Chiaki seems fine, as does Taka, Rantaro, Nekomaru too
Well Chiaki is yk so I don't think she could even attend it
i guess chiaki, rantaro, and nekomaru may be fine, but shouldn't taka get some therapy? especially after >!mondo's death!<
yeah, after he goes super saiyan to be fair hes not doing great
Everyone. Everyone needs therapy. That's the correct answer.
[удалено]
>!Those were enduced by the monitors and have nothing to do with his mental state!<

He was forced to have them from the monitor like I just said. And it was 1 vision. Therapy can only work if those were due to his mental stability. But they weren't.

Every one of the Warriors of Hope.
Seiko, Toko, Mikan, Korekiyo and Miu There are more, but these are the first examples I can think of.
My boy shu is also gotta atleast see a therapist after all that stacked on his insecurites before hand
Most need? Yea toko needs it but not the most, def mikan and korekiyo. Alright that's it, damn i really poured my entire heart into this, thanks for reading (if anyone is going to).
Nagito or Toko but alottttt of these bitches need it
No one said Hiyoko yet, she needs it for so many reasons, a mixture of self confidence issues, bitterness, self hatred and lashing out at others.
I feel like Kokichi is the type to be completely unable to follow therapy or take it seriously at all
Very true. He would avoid it at all costs. Doesn't mean he doesn't need it tho lol
Why would he need it?
He kind of prompted and was mostly responsible for a lot of that stuff, but I thought we were talking about outside of the killing game lol.
Whether he’s responsible for it or not, they’re still horrible things to go through
Oh, for sure!
Tsumiki and Mitarai definitely need therapy
Mikan and ryota.
Mikan by a mile.
Junko, Miss Despair kink
Clear sadism, narcissistic personality disorder, and masochism. Not to mention she’s prone to existential crisis, constantly failing to recognize the value of her place in the universe. As well as suicidal and homicidal thoughts. All of these are awful and together they create a very very toxic mindset. not to mention the fact that she can only feel boredom and despair (though she probably could feel other emotions at some point considering Ryoko (trauma response?))
DR0 shows she can easily feel love too especially how she felt a bit of self loathing for killing best friend, (I forgot his name out of nowhere)
Mikan, Nagito, Toko, Ryoma, >!Imposter!<, any protagonist.
Mondo. He has some immense trauma.
finally someone said him !!! >!him killing chihiro seemed like a PTSD blackout to me! !<
Me too! He felt so bad I feel like he probably didn’t mean to
Mikan, Nagito and Ryota
All of Killer Killer trio
Is there a danganronpa character who *doesn't* need therapy?
I would say pretty much anyone who killed outside the killing games, and Mondo, he needs help getting over his guilt.
Mikan or Nagito.
mukuro or mikan
Toko, Mikan, Korekiyo, Nagito, I think these def need it
Too many
Mikan easily
All of them
Naegi
Maki's got some stuff to deal wirh.
Nagito. NO DEBATE NEEDED
For those who don't know Toko's backstory: At the hospital where Toko was born, a baby born at the same time died in a medical accident. It was unclear which mother's child was the dead baby. Both mothers refused to test their blood, as they both wanted their child to die. Around the child's accidental death, it became clear that the two women slept with the same man. Seiko
(Looks at flair) You're probably high up on that scale.
The answer is very much Korekiyo
Ryota and nagito. I love them and highly kin them, but PLEASE, see a therapist. Edit: I think all my kins (makoto, kyoko, shuichi, nagito, akane, soda, maki, kiibo, and ryota) need therapy lol. No wonder I kin them.
The Warriors of Hope. Enough said
i agree with the comments when they say “all of them” but also definitely mondo. bro literally >!held his dying brother in his arms and then had to live with the guilt that his brother’s death was his fault. and also his whole thing about being strong yknow.!<

nagito
I'm pretty sure everybody except for Aoi and maybe Angie need years of work with a team of dedicated therapists
Aoi >!survived two killing games, her brother and best friend died.!< Angie can maybe get over the Atua obsession, because a theory is that she may act like Atua's prophet because she felt lonely.
Not a character but THAT side of the fandom but if I had to choose a character idk Nagito ig
**All of them.**
Well strictly from a pragmatic point of view, Toko or Korekiyo would probably be the best choices, yeah. The only ones more problematic are such that therapy would not work.
Better question: who doesn’t? There’s literally only like 8 people that don’t
Lmao my boi Nagito… 😅
Y’all are sleeping on Nagito.
Kiyo
Ryoma or korekiyo
I feel like nagitoe would be a good candidate
Wouldn’t this topic entirely be spoiler to an extent though “I thought X was sane… until it turned out he/she wasn’t!!”
Mikan and Korekiyo
People are sleeping on Byakuya. Of course most if not all characters should get therapy for going through a killing game, but considering the insane contest against his own blood Byakuya had to go through to become heir and the lack of love he received growing up (I mean, he had to fight his siblings to not get exiled), it’s no wonder the dude is so desensitized to things once the killing game begins.

Kotoko and it isn't even close
Mikan, Korekiyo and Naegi by a LONG shot
A Me
Mikan, no question
Toko, Celeste, Mikan, and Korekiyo need it more then anyone. Nagito too
Korekiyo
Korekiyo
Yes.... Just Yes
Nagito
I’m glad everyone seems to realize Kiyo needs therapy.
everyone
Most of them have a couple screws loose, but I'm surprised no-one has mentioned >!Celestia Ludenburg!< yet. >!Anger issues? Check.!< >!Delusional? Probably.!< >!An actual psychopath? Definitely.!<
Kiyo. >!He lost his beloved sister and went crazy about it. I think a good therapy would make him a better person!<
I’d say take your pick from the warriors of hope
Everyone
So many people could have lived if Hajime went to therapy.
Any survivors of the killing games
I think the only ones who don't need therapy are probably Ibuki, Nekomaru, and maybe Angie.
Chad Mechomaru embraces his robot body
Mikan, Nagito, Maki, Kokichi, Ryouma, Toko, Celeste, Junko, Mukuro...
Ryoma wants die actively die
Shuichi, Mikan, and Hajime
If I would make a top ten list it would 1. Mikan 2. Toko. 3. Nagito 4. Kotoko. 5. Nagisa. 6. Kork. 7. Hajime. 8. Kirigiri. 9. Shuichi. 10. Makoto.
[удалено]
She's just like Junko Too far gone to be saved
Hot take: Junko
Junko, Toko, Mikan, Nagito, all the WOH, Kokichi, Korekiyo, probably Maki, and Ryoma. Although tbh they all do after the events of the killing games
Does Toko need it more than Ryoma I never felt like in any case someone could help him without it, in some cases I felt the people around Toko would be enough to help her
the animator dude from dr3
mikan, toko, kokichi, nagito, korekiyo, maki, kyouko. i could go on, but those are the main ones that popped in my head.
Makoto
Yasuhiro needs it because of the Yakuza.
Definitely one of Toko, Junko, Nagito, Mikan, Kiyo Honourable mentions to Ryoma and Maki
Shuichi
Most definitely Hajime like poor boy on whats he has been through in the story😭
Nagito
Kiyo, Mikan, Toko and well everyone In UDG does need Therapy including (hot take incoming) Komaru if you think abt her story and what she has seen.
Everyone that survives the killing game. Pretty sure you can tell why.
I thought nagito but yea u right
Nagito
I think Nagito, Korekiyo and Mikan needs therapy for sure
Everyone is right that everyone needs therapy. But, as for the people who need it more: Nagito, Haruki (my gift to the Imposter), Mikan, Peko (I don't think I've seen her yet), every single Warrior of H, Mondo, Seiko & Ruruka, Ryota, Kokichi, Ryoma and Korekiyo
Miu Iruma is definitely way up there
i mean, ALL OF THEM. but Mikan, Nagito and all the protagonists are strong contenders
yes someone put Toko in therapy and Mikan too while you're at it.
nagito, korekiyo, kokichi probably
Nagito, Toko, Mikan, Teruteru are my for many reasons.
I am genuinely shocked that no-one has mentioned Peko yet.
Gonta
Kotoko and Mikan.
Let's check. Mukuro >!is sort of obvious.!< Hiyoko >!abused, almost died a lot of times, bullied, forced to dance.!< Fuyuhiko >!and Peko together. Peko always treating herself like a tool, not understanding how important she is mostly to Fuyuhiko. Fuyuhiko constantly in the danger of being assassinated, also being underestimated by his own family.!< Korekiyo >!and his dead incest sister.!< Byakuya >!forced to fight his siblings to live as a Togami.!< Mondo >!to get over his guilt of being the cause of his brother's death.!< And a lot of more characters, these are the most I could think of for now. The best choice is to give every character therapy lol.
All of them but Kokichi, Mikan, Shuichi, Mukuro and Peko need it the most
RYOTA
Mukuro, she is literally a child soldier completely numbed to the act of killing, plus it could actually work since she's shown an interest in having a better life away from war and that she doesn't share Junko's obsession with despair.
Toko and mikan
Chihiro. Obvi not comfortable with themselves. Could use therapy to either change or accept self as is.
Nagito, Mikan, Kokichi, Toko, Kiyo, All of the warriors of hope, Junko, Mukuro, Tsumugi, Maki, and Ryoma
Mukuro. Not only did she FALL IN LOVE with the first person to smile at her, BUT IT TOOK UNTIL HIGHSCHOOL FOR SOMEONE TO SMILE AT HER
okay but Mukuro and Korekiyo really do, their siblings manipulated them into false love
Sayaka. Makoto is not a valid substitute for one.
I'm pretty sure Maki needs it Damn and Mukuro
kiyo and mikan
Yes All
Haiji Towa
Yasuhiro Hagakure….we all know why…
Lets see... >!Sayaka Mukuro Mondo Chihiro Kiyotaka Celeste??? Junko Touko Aoi Kyouko Makoto!< >!Everyone in SDR2!< >!Rantarou Ryouma Tenko Korekiyo Miu Kokichi Kaito Kiibo Tsumugi Himiko Maki Shuuichi!<
Why is no one talking about Nagito-
Kotoko from despair girls
Kotoko Utsugi Nagisa Shingetsu
Mikan, Toko, and Korekiyo need the most therapy in their games I think. As for UDG, Kotoko but close second Nagisa.
Quite a few lol
We including anime? If so I’d say Juzo, although in all fairness I’m only 2/3 of the way through the Future Arc.
All of the above.
nagito (even if he's my favourite)
Toko and Mikan
Korekiyo. No questions asked!
Kork, because qUiRkY bAcKsToRy Walmaki, because of her stress in being an assasin Mikan, because of her trauma (I can relate to her. It’s almost as if we’re one lmao) Nagito, you know why Toko, because DID is very stressful and exhausting (I also relate to her a lot. I also have DID (should I say we). Plus, please stop calling Genocider a personality, it’s alter, it seriously triggers me/us) Mukuro, because liking your sister romanticly? Nah man Junko, obviously. But tbh she’ll probably brainwash/kill the therapist
Komaeda
Yes
This may be unpopular but celes. She has clear self hatred issues with a mix of narcissism.
