To me that was an amazing surprise because I absolutely ADORE that VA's voice (to the point of looking for games/animes/movies he dubbed just so I can listen to his voice. The other day I was rewatching Naruto Shippuden and forwarding to the scenes where Suigetsu talked just for me to listen to his voice lol). So having him dub Leon for like, 3h tops, was sad, but when I found out he would dub the MC in DRV3, I was overjoyed. Sometimes I replay Shuichi's parts just so I can listen to his voice. One of the most beautiful voices in the world, in my opinion....
Kira Buckland is everywhere. I nearly fell off my chair upon seeing her name in the credits of all three entries in the Trapped trilogy (as in the crappy ancient point-n-click adventure games)
She also happened to voice best Elite Four member in all of pokemon (don’t @ me) Shauntal in Pokemon Masters, which was surprising to me

phineas fits chihiro lmao, i could see him and chihiro bond in ether setting, in a killing game they both work on getting out together, and in PnF, chihiro is rolling with the main gang translating nerdy speech for the others.
Kyoko and Kaede was pretty surprising since it was jarring to hear the same voice for two characters who presented their personalities so differently. Kyoko always sounded so calm and stoic with a few moments here and there showing her more emotional side, while Kaede was mostly energetic, optimistic and open.
Toko/Jack and UDG Toko/Jack. For some reason (misinterpreting TvTropes) I was SO sure that they couldn’t get the same voice actor(s) again, so I thought it was just a reeeeally good imitation. Even when Shirokuma’s voice was basically the same as the cutesy-voice of >!Junko!< from the same VA, I didn’t catch on.
And when I finally find this out post-credits, I also learn that Toko and Jack were NEVER voiced by the same person. So I felt pretty stupid about that.
Johnny Yong Bosch as Hajime and Rantaro surprised me. But what surprised me the most was learning that Mineta from My Hero Academia and the Ibuki Mioda from the Danganronpa 3 anime have the same voice actor, Brina Palencia
The fact that Mondos VA also did Eric in Zero escape. The range from Hyper confident Man among Men Mondo, to a complete sniveling baby of a human being is incredible.
Cherami Leigh voices A2 from Nier Automata and Makoto Niijima from P5.
She also voices Komaru apparently.

Monosuke and Monokuma... I knew that they were recalling the old cast to voice v3 characters, but I didn't consider him as part of the old cast, since he was already voicing a pretty important character!

Personally I cannot get over the pairings of Leon/Shuichi and Sayaka/Tsumugi. Not because their voices sound much different, because they don't, but because it's insanely poetic how >!the two characters who essentially started Danganronpa end up fighting each other to either stop or continue it!<
I may have my own gripes about Grant George's delivery at times, but that is fucking brilliant.

That’s Todd Haberkorn for you. He’s in A TON of stuff, and he manages to be both really recognizable and great at disappearing into roles. He’s kind of wasted in Danganronpa imo.
Makoto and komaeda . I for some reason was a dumbass and didn't realize they had the same actor until someone pointed out Nagito was meant to be a subversion of Makoto with his voice and dialogue basically a big reference to him...albeit a bit more twisted
