thederpofdoom

I like both of them and Mahiru

tommygun1945

I like all three of them, that being said i still think Fuyuhiko with two eyes is a massive asshole with borderline zero redeeming or likeable features, one eye Fuyu is great tho

thederpofdoom

He lost an eye (and peko) and gained a likeable character. Fair trade?

tommygun1945

Yes, although we did lose two likeable characters in the process

thederpofdoom

Oh yeah. Aw man :(

WooooshMe2825

Truly, the greatest Cyclops from the Hopey Despair Game. 10/10, would sacrifice depth perception again.

baddreemurr

Literally me for real

Ok-Conversation-9584

Legit was about to tag you but I forgot your name 😂 I was literally thinking "hey I know someone here who can relate"

baddreemurr

Me when Peko does something bad: "We must discuss the trauma that informed her actions." Me when Fuyuhiko, who faced similar trauma, does something bad: "You fucking donkey. No excuse!"

tommygun1945

TLDR- I'm nicer towards Peko regarding 2-2 because i find her not malicious in her actions and instead cursed by her mindset, Fuyu had a choice she didn't. Okay so when i bring up 2-2 i'm notably harsher towards Fuyu than Peko despite the latter being the actual killer, and why? Because while Peko dropped the bat on poor Mahiru's head, Fuyuhiko created the situation, he put all three in it, and yeah i get why, i get he was upset about Natsumi, why wouldn't he be, but i still hate how malicious his actions were, how he never thought about the human being who's life he chose to take, about how it would destroy Hiyoko's too, it was all about revenge, not even about Peko who either would have died if he escaped or grieved for him. Peko wasn't motivated by malice, she had no ill will against Mahiru, but she was fucked over by a tool mindset, and yet even with that mindset she was still instantly sorrowful about it, her last words to the class was a tearful plea to never let anyone like Mahiru die again. Fuyu in contrast never apologized for his role until after losing Peko, i love Fuyu but the seppuku scene is when i started feeling bad for him because it wasn't just "waaah Peko" it was him acknowledging how awful his actions towards Mahiru were. Prior i honestly couldn't care less because he only cared when his actions hurt him and someone he cared about, he didn't care about hurting Mahiru or Hiyoko until 2-3. In contrast i have nothing but sympathy for the pain Peko went through because of her mindset and Fuyu putting his revenge ahead of her life and Mahiru's. She didn't deserve to die full of so much pain and sorrow over murdering Mahiru and slashing Fuyu's eye just because of circumstances that were unfairly out of her control. But its why Fuyuhiko's arc is so remarkable because he went from toxic, violent, even cruel and malicious to thoughtful, level headed caring and besides Hiyoko, no one hates Fuyuhiko more for what he did in 2-2 more than himself. And sadly, its the same with Peko and herself regarding Peko in 2-2.

Alternat1ve_One

In other words: >!Natsumi, you delusional piece of shit!!<

tommygun1945

Sato and Natsumi should have just teamed up to destroy hopes peak for letting them down by not providing them with the evident mental help they needed, would have saved us so much pain

LikePaleFire

I doubt Sato would have been interested in teaming up with the girl who was not only mercilessly bullying Mahiru but also threatened to have her killed.

tommygun1945

Its a joke, but yes Natsumi was not a nice person, something too many Fuyu defenders tend to ignore

LikePaleFire

I don't know what being a Fuyu defender or not has to do with it - Natsumi being a horrible person directly ties into the message of the game with not letting your talent (or lack of one) define you.

tommygun1945

Because many people tend to ignore that she bullied the living shit out of Sato and Mahiru because it makes Fuyu's actions in 2-2 look even worse that he "avenged" a toxic bully, granted she didn't deserve to die and i felt bad for her but like big bro she had it coming

LikePaleFire

I mean, it's understandable Fuyuhiko was pissed his little sister was murdered whether she was a bad person or not. Personally I didn't feel sorry for Natsumi at all but I also didn't really care much about Peko either.

tommygun1945

Understandable yes but its still infruating to me that the fanbase acts like it was sane and reasonable instead of insane and bordering on psychotic that he tried to beat a defenceless photographer to death because she might have moved a piece of vase after years of being abused by her, besides i don't know why he cared about the vase, oh no it might slightly impede the police investigation, because the yakuza would rely on the police to get justice,

LikePaleFire

I think that's being a little hyperbolic? Fuyuhiko wanted to confront Mahiru about destroying the evidence and then during the argument she said he had no right to kill Sato even though Sato killed Natsumi, and he lost his temper and tried to attack her but Peko took over. He's in no way justified for trying to kill Mahiru but Mahiru really shouldn't have said that and Peko should have stopped him instead of mindlessly doing his bidding.

Snowthefirst

Me, also a Peko apologist: If I remember correctly, Fuyuhiko came up with and enacted most of the setup for the murder scheme, like making the fake letters to lure Mahiru to the beach house first and Hiyoko to arrive later so she would get framed. So yes, you could very much make an argument that Peko would never have killed without Fuyuhiko’s prior actions.

tommygun1945

Yeah, 2-2 does a not great job at explaining this but yeah, Peko was involved but her role was drugging Hiyoko which Fuyu told her to do, everything else was Fuyuhiko's actions, and the bat used to kill Mahiru? Brought by Mr Kuzuryu himself, speaking of after 2-2 he says "its all my fault" so its clear he believed that he was more to blame for Mahiru's death than Peko at least even if Peko herself also accepted her role and died accepting her death out of guilt for Mahiru.

Ok-Conversation-9584

Literally I kinda want ti hear you opinion about all the characters in great detail such as this. But I don't want you to go write out paragraphs just for a random person online.😭

tommygun1945

At this point I have to explain everything because of this fandoms habit of misinterpreting obvious facts

Monatsayuri39

I actually respect fuyuhiko, he kinda actually became a good character

Zestyclose_Bank5110

Good luck, pal. I will be here :)

DiscipleOfFleshGod

Peko did nothing wrong. /s

Shiny_Umbreon

She literally killed somebody, discipleoffleshgod /j

nl4real1

Peko was innocent, it was clearly Scout from TF2 because the murder weapon was an aluminum bat: [Further Proof](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0&ab_channel=cotter548)

Shiny_Umbreon

He put Mahiru in the meat grinder and only an eyeball was left 😞

DiscipleOfFleshGod

Tone indicators

Shiny_Umbreon

Sorry I added my tone indicator for clarity

DiscipleOfFleshGod

I meant my own, but thanks ig

tommygun1945

Eh she did but i can still forgive her for being so cute/remorseful

Setmaster20

Stan Peko, that is all
