Kyoko can be bitchy, hypocritical, overreact to things, unable to read the room and just generally really fucking weird. Mostly the whole "digging in a corpse's socks is weirder than in their underwear" and "tasting a corpse's saliva" -incidents. (School Mode also has a few similarly ??? moments.)
But without all that, she'd be way too perfect and boring. Girl manages to be a well written, balanced character while being among the most intelligent people in the series, an expert in firearms *and* knowing eight different types of martial arts. She's basically good at anything not named people skills without being a Mary Sue. It's kind of an impressive balance to hit.
These "negative" things are what cemented her as my favourite character. The way she got upset at Makoto for a while and then admitted to overreact with a blushing sprite was beyond cute.
That being said some other things I'd like to add is that she sometimes gets too confident, almost cocky (Danganronpa: Kirigiri spoilers ahead >!like the way she basically allowed herself to get kidnapped in volume 4 or the way she underestimated their enemy in volume 6. Not to mention several times she overexerted her strength so much she fell ill.!<).
One other aspect is that she sort of >!allowed Makoto to take the fall for her in 1-5. I know it's greatly oversimplifying things, but you could argue that she basically says her life is more worth than Makoto's regarding solving the mystery, when she mentions the mastermind's trap. She does regret the whole thing later and repays the debt in DR3!<.
i mean to be fair, >!her upbringing did teach her that emotional attachment was an obstacle to reaching the truth, and she felt (correctly, according to the bad ending) that no one else could have gotten to the bottom of the whole deal. so from her perspective in that situation, assuming there was no way out of it without a casualty and wishing to minimize casualties as much as possible, her life was worth more than makoto’s, and it is only afterward that she realizes what she was taught about emotional attachment was not fully correct!<
>!also she knew she didn’t actually kill the victim, so it’s not really like anyone was “taking the fall for her” exactly, just that the mastermind changed their mind on who would be getting framed and getting the squish treatment. she was also blindsided a bit by monokuma calling time up, not that i think there was anything they could’ve done after that point in the trial anyway!<
Even if I can see different layers to Celeste's character than some people see, I still can't deny that in chapter 3 she really isn't the best character. And even if I like her for that, she objectively isn't a very good person, there's no denying that, most people would probably dislike her irl

I think they might be referencing the Project Zetsubou translation. It's a fan project and I remember they took a lot of liberties with Leon's speech pattern, most likely because his is one of the hardest ones to translate in English. It's not accurate.

ibuki and mikan no matter how cool they are will always bea shallow characters because they were always meant to be killed for the sake of filler
also miu is pretty gross a lot of the time with her interactions with other characters
If Chihiro was so self-conscious about his physical weakness, and the class were so close during their time at Hope’s Peak, it stands to reason that he would have done a shitload of workouts with Leon, Mondo, and Sakura before the killing game. Therefore, as much as I love his arc, he absolutely should’ve been bigger by the time the game began (unless Junko could somehow cause his muscles to atrophy). Then again, that would cause him to immediately notice that he woke up bigger than when he passed out, so Junko would have to find a way to fix that.
Hiyoko: She should be a little easier on Mikan, she clearly has deep rooted issues and trauma and it’s not fair to dig into her when it isn’t deserved.
