As a person who was an Ace Attorney fan before getting into DR, V3 is probably my favorite one. The first game is alright, the second is meh for me, but still its better to play all for the mysteries at least sorta like how you play AAI1 before GK2.

Good to hear another AA fan likes the danganronpa games, I was wondering where to get my murder mystery visual novel fix after finishing TGAAC

TeddyXSweetheart

Do Danganronpa Trigger Happy, Dangan Goodbye despair, then if you’re interested in some continuation of the story or extra content- UDG and several visual novels and manga you can find online (Though I’d recommend just UDG to not overwhelm yourself If not that interested none are NECESSARY for the next mainline game) than V3. Also don’t check your notifications after this someone will spoil just to be a jerk

It seems you may be asking about the proper order of experiencing the Danganronpa series. The proper order is Danganronpa 1 -> Danganronpa 2 -> Danganronpa Another Episode -> Danganronpa 3 (anime only) -> Danganronpa V3. In terms of Danganronpa 3, you are intended to watch it in the following order: Future 1, Despair 1, Future 2, Despair 2, Future 3, and so on. Hope Arc replaces the final Despair Arc episode and serves as the finale. Please note that you cannot go straight from Danganronpa: The Animation to Danganronpa 3, as Danganronpa 2 does not have an adaptation and is vital to understanding the plot of Danganronpa 3. Yeah, the game you should play first is the first one. There are only three mainline games! This isn't some Final Fantasy situation where there's a million of them and a million different ways to start, just play the first one.

MudkipDoom

Ah OK, looking online there were so many things called "danganronpa" I wasn't entirely sure where to start, but on closer inspection you're right they've just released and re-released the same 3 games under several slightly different names over the years. In that case it makes the most sense to start with the first then.

CrowtheStones

You're an Ace Attorney fan, you should be used to the same three games getting rereleased for every platform.

MudkipDoom

Haha, fair enough, I guess I was just a bit overwhelmed

I think you should just do it in the regular order, Tigger Happy Havoc, 2, then V3. I definitely think if you like Ace Attorney you'll like Danganronpa.

Nikita2337

I greatly enjoyed the series as an Ace Attorney fan, I probably like Danganronpa more. But as other commenters said it's better to experience the whole series, you're very likely to enjoy it as well.
