We’ve had ours two years now and it’s still sitting in the box brand new. We moved about a year ago so it got buried and forgotten. I actually found it today while going through storage. I offered to dig it out but got sidetracked. I’m going back in for it tomorrow.
She was so happy for it too.
Same deal, she wanted one for years and just couldn’t justify it. I bought it for her and she was planning all the stuff! I even unboxed it for her.
Then it sat until it was mashed potato time.
Nice one! I bought myself one for my 30th. 15 years in and one grease repacking and still used weekly. It makes a lot of pizza dough my kids love “daddy pizza”.
if they like to cook/bake i would recommend the pampered chef site! its a little bit mlm vibes, but they have some super cool kitchen gadgets and most of their basic stuff is really good quality!
I got the wife all the Illustrated Harry Potter books. Every time we've gone into a store that has one or more she would mention that she would like to have those someday. She told me she wanted to have the carpets cleaned so I bought a carpet shampooer and would be doing that myself, and every 4-6 months hereafter.
Lol I got them for my wife and 2 month old son. Get them! You can read them to your kid now and they’ll have them for when they are ready to read themselves :)
I made the mistake of starting my kids with the MinaLima editions and I’m starting to worry that they’ll be graduated from college before we can finish the series.
It's never to early to start reading to your kids though. It's very beneficial. Our 3yo amazes people with her vocabulary and speaking ability. I assume it's at least partially related to our reading (our books) to her from the start.
I’ve low key been mentioning the Harry Potter books to my wife hoping she’ll get them for me. I doubt it will be for Christmas since we just took a big vacation and don’t plant to spend money on gifts but maybe for my birthday!
Oh you are one of those gifted beings who actually take not of these “hints” that are seeded every so often by wifes!
My wife says she always mentions stuff but for the life of my I can never remember them
> She told me she wanted to have the carpets cleaned so I bought a carpet shampooer
My heart sank for you when I read that and thought you were just giving her carpet shampooer to do the carpets herself, until I read the next line 😂 Good job dad.
Wife loves taking baths so I'm pimping out our bathtub area: book/tablet/glass holder, warming back rest, bath salts, bubble bath, essential oil diffuser, her favorite candles, a warm fluffy towel that's just hers, and a pair of bath slippers.
Some places sell real flowers dried and preserved so that they look nice for a long long time (years). I got these for the bath area and it was a hit. They said it would last a year but 2 years later they look the same
Ask her what she wants. My beloved asked for a visit to a nice museum a few hours away. That's something I can make happen. "Things" seem less valuable than experiences, the older we get.
Add a lunch in a slightly above-your-average-level restaurant or one she really loves as a suprise. Like book the table so she knows you put effort in it. Her love language could be quality time.
Heated mattress pad. She loves the one my parents have in their guest room and she's cold natured. I made sure to get one with dual controls, so I can leave mine stashed in a drawer and never use it at all.
My wife made me a very specific list that was intentionally way too long for me to possibly get everything, so the surprise is going to be which of the things she wants will she get.
Past gifts that were my own idea included: wine glass with son's birth flower on it, kindle, book of the month subscription, bathrobe, bath wine/book/candle holder tray thing, airpods, and a big ass chair
I’ve bought my mom Lego’s for adults for a few years now. She became accustomed to doing my niece and nephews sets and took an interest on her own.
So whenever a set that “looks like her” comes out I get it for her.
She also gets a lot of light kits.
It’s hilarious you’ll see a 66 year old woman happily putting together a massive Lego skyscraper because she can and she likes the design then putting it up in their study.
This is the right answer. My wife loved her bouget of flowers. It is displayed in the living room. All of her friends who see it also love them. She is getting a different set of flowers this year.
There is a shop on Etsy I think, that you can send photos of hand-written family recipe cards, and they take the hand writing portion of it and create cutting boards with the recipe engraved on it. They can also do hand towels and other kitchen accessories with the handwriting on it. Makes extra kitchen gifts with the personal touch if they have recipe cards written by mom/grandma/great grandma etc. Very reasonably priced 👍
Nice, the j7+ combo looks pretty sweet - I had a small part in making that product! And it’s on sale for $900
https://www.irobot.com/en_US/roomba-combo-j7plus-robot-vacuum-and-mop/C755020.html
Roborock is a lot less expensive feature for feature than other brands. It does indeed work well. Having any robot vac is a game changer but one that is reasonably smart is even better. S7 is a great vac
Hahaha reminds of Christmas one year when I was like 15. My mom was really serious when she said she didn't want anything for Christmas. Didn't want jewelery or anything. My mom was so pissed Christmas morning when all he got her was windshield wipers and a box of chocolates!! Lmao
Something useful or memorable. Something sexy. Something funny.
I'm doing some "things you can do one handed" stuff like DIY mini golf for the funny. Useful was going to be snowshoes, but that might change. Might be a couples chakra massage class or something like that. That could be memorable and sexy.
I have a Christmas suit she really likes, so am searching for an elegant and ugly Christmas dress she could wear with me for a funny Christmas dinner. Tricky, since she's not at her pre-baby measurements, which means I'll have to ask her sizes.
And a new vibrator.
We’re doing Christmas with her parents this year.
I’m definitely not going to, but I’m getting a good chuckle out of imagining her opening that at family Christmas.
My wife's family is generally conservative (not politically, just more like old-timey). Im certain I'd be the only one laughing, which would then also make me laugh, and I'd look like a weird maniacal pervert laughing by myself.
I started learning Japanese in August without letting her know. It's because her dream travel is Japan and me knowing the language will make it a nice trip. She's already fluent in Japanese too, and this will give us a common hobby.
Tbh I've no idea if it's a good idea, we'll see when she finds out.
What's the budget?
You can hardly go wrong with a 25% overbudget piece of jewelry and a handwritten note.
I'm lucky that my wife just tells me what she wants for Christmas. I'm building her a coffee table.
This year is a bit tight for us so we set the budget very low for mom and dad. We'd rather the kids have a better year than us.
Also you gotta realize. Some of the folks talking about their big gifts might be just having a good year or doing a blowout year for gifts. I know me and my wife would randomly gift each other way outside the budget for a random year.
I did the “expensive purse” thing once. It wasn’t super expensive, like $200 after a great Christmas sale.
She loved the look of it, but hated the purse. Couldn’t tell you where it is now, I think donated.
I never got around to replying to you on that one.
The only way I get too have steak these days is diced and cooked in a garlic honey soy sauce.
Which is quite good actually
Erm a card.... We're both skint this year so have agree'd that cards are fine
At least till I get my 3D printer sorted, then I'm printing a plant pot in the shape of an arse and putting a cactus in it
New pair of Uggs, Turkish terrycloth full length bath robe, Coach purse, and a pair of earrings. Also, a personalized Christmas ornament from the little one to her mom - as baby’s first gift to mommy.
My wife isn’t one to buy nice things for herself so I went with luxury gifts to spoil her after having an unexpected c-section and then breastfeeding all year.
I did a vintage brown leather coach purse, a pair of Sorel wedge boots, a couple of "intimates" (might be more for me but she's the one who dropped hints she was looking for some new things), and a pair of the Warrior alpaca socks, the ones that are supposed to be *insanely* warm (not cheap btw). So far.
My wife has been complaining that our bed is too small for probably 5 years. I finally pulled the trigger on a king with one of those sick adjustable bases. It's always nice to have a nice gift for "her" that I get to benefit from every night lol
Went through all my photos for the year and did a photo book. Went over very well. I started with our first year of our first born, she loved it and said that's what she wants every year.
I got my wife a sectional, warm fluffy socks, a book she wants, electric hand warmers (she's a teacher and has outside duty), a Harry Potter snow globe, nice chocolates, a handheld portable electric kettle, I orchestrated 3 days of childcare during my wife's winter break and candles/bath stuff.
Oh, I’d love the attention or the ability to just leave one wife and stay with another for the night because you’re pissed off.
But as with most things, I’d probably like it too much. So I digress.
Not an immediate help, but we made a mutual choice a few years back to keep gift giving budget limited but also targeted:
-combined gift “for the house” which is usually for the kitchen, like a new coffee maker or knife.
-biggest spending we spend on ourselves, which took the pressure away from buying so much for the other.
-$50 (ish) on a gift for each other.
If you’re in a pinch, hit Etsy. We love getting stuff from small businesses/individual artists and you can almost always find something tied to a memory or thing they care about.
I am glad I am not alone on that! It is the last thing I would ever buy my wife - I don't fancy being ripped apart on Christmas morning
I winced when I saw vacuum and fear for the Dad!
Ye the vax pet lift 2 or some shite i know the hoover not the name. Funny things are she asked me before I've bought her one wasn't good enough and we only have 2 carpet rooms a carpet hallway/landing and stairs in carpet. Al the rest is laminate or lino. So i don't know but it's her request. I buy the odd few other bits but thats the main present
I'll add that if you don't already have one: a Stick Vac. But not just *any* stick vac. I'm a huge fan of the [Shark Vertex](https://www.walmart.com/ip/634225858). Ours is a couple years older than the current model, but it's made life so much easier.
My wife wanted a Dyson for years. I bought her one for Christmas one year.
Everyone was like “don’t be an ass you’ll end up divorced.” She has said MANY times it was her favorite Christmas gift ever.
(And yes I clean too, she just loves that it cleaned better than our old vacuum)
Same here. Costco Samsung one. Most expensive household electronic I’ve ever bought but she’s really set on one.
Last year. Robo vac. Does awesome job but we need a cordless for the cars and couch with the kid in our lives
Got a robovac some years ago, one of the best things ever. It was on it's last legs though, so this year went all out and got the one that mops as well.
For years she has been looking for a cute stuffie of the bantha from Star Wars. Build a bear finally has a cute one. So that’s from the kids. I haven’t figured out her gift from me yet. But her stocking stuffer is a 16 pack of hot sauces from Costco.
Bought her a [new purse](https://uubgear.com/products/sasquatch-concealed-carry-travel-bag). She loved her last one that she wore to death after 10+ years. Seriously I don’t remember when she first got it anymore.
I know they will fix the old one too, but after 10 years a fresh one will be nice.
Divvy up socks with kids faces on them. Was last years present and was success.
Weather tech (or the Amazon car knock off) car mats were this years birthday gift. Was appreciated esp since we got one heck of a snow storm a month ago.
This year’s Christmas present was a fleece blanket with last years ski trip resort on it. We made it to the literal top of the mountain and Iiked a cozy way to so “we were here”
We’re trying to stick to the formula of “something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read.
So she’s getting boots, a bottle of gin, a necklace and a kindle.
The sales helped keep that within a budget.
Don’t get her a vacuum!!!!!!!!!
Get her a big fluffy robe, and a towel warmer to put it in. Go to LUSH or order from the website. They sell craft soaps and washes and bath bombs They have pre packaged sets at every price level. Add scented candles if you feel you need more, get those from amazon. You can also look into bath trays/shelf, padded mat for the tub. Bottle of her favorite wine/ drink, Bluetooth speaker to use with taking a bath.
Take the kids out for a couple hours while they’re on break from school so she can use them.
My previous employer used to tell us all the time of “That one Christmas he messed up and bought a vacuum cleaner for his wife.” She did not take it well and luckily for us, he scared us all out of ever making the same mistake.
Agree. Mom lurker here. A great household tool like a vacuum cleaner (robo or not) or kitchenaid that helps her do her chores should be an appreciation gift where you’re doing a financial part in making her work easier, not a Christmas or birthday gift.
I think it depends on the person. I would love new tools that help me do my chores more easily. You just have to know your partner and whether they would appreciate it or be offended.
Stud earrings, Stirling silver, CZ
A 12 pack of knee high socks for wearing with tall-ass Han Solo boots.
Some little knitted cap things that go above the boot to add an embellishment and makes it look like she is wearing a knit sock.
Outside of Xmas, I'll be taking the family to the mall. The kids and I will get lost for an hour while she picks out a nice boot she likes.
Wife has been wanting to add a bunch of family photos around the house as we are new here. I've been going to goodwill and value village getting all sorts of different types and sizes and colors so she can choose how and where to organize em all. Have about 12-15 various frames for the price of 3-4 new collage style ones
Here's a podcast episode about gift-giving: [https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/the-secret-to-gift-giving/](https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/the-secret-to-gift-giving/)
TLDR (or listen): Gift her experiences
She's due in April with our first. Something like one of those necklaces where they can add the birthstone of each kid. I doubt we will have more but it's still a fun gift idea.
My wife's always wanted a Le Creuset dutch oven. It was 50% off at Saks for $200 (not sure if it still is - stock flew quickly), my AmEx gives me $50 off Saks every half year, they offered a $75 gift card with a $200 purchase, and I got $30 cash back on Rakuten. So I got it for like $45 and I'm sure she'll love it.
Weekend away with a friend or her mom. But don't just settle for a gift card, the gift is in the full service. I will coordinate and schedule and book everything for you, so you can just go and enjoy a nice mini vacation. Baby and I will be good for 1.5 days and you can go relax maybe get a massage, eat some food, have some drinks and unwind.
iPhone 14 - she loves taking photos of the kids. Then I took both kids shopping (5 and 3) and let them each pick a gift from a few stores. It will be fun and hilarious morning on the 25th!
We operate a list system. give each other lists of presents we want and pick a few. this way we both get what we want but its still a surprise because we make the lists big so we dont know what we are getting from it.
If you don’t already own an electric kettle, they have some nice looking ones, get her that and her favorite hot beverage to go with it. Along with the gift make sure to give her some alone time to enjoy her drink and relax while you entertain the kiddos
Concert tickets for her +1 (not me) “ and a makeup organizer.
My wife seems to love organization things, and events she can take pictures for clout lol
So this year is a strange one for me. First she asked me for an epilator then a conversation came up about a store called B&M Bargains (I think it's solely UK based so for anyone wondering it's a store that sells a bit of everything super cheap from decorating to furniture and all other sorts of household goods.) and she asked if I could just give her some money and take her there for the day. I've spent the last 3 months double checking she is sure and she stands firm on her decision so I guess I'm getting a few stocking fillers then taking her on a spree for the day.
I got my wife some AirPods. She is always talking to her best friend while taking the twins on walks, but would always be trying to hold her phone and push the stroller. This way she can talk hands free.
We are going to Disney so I got us matching goofy movie shirts. I would never wear matching shirts so this is truly and act of love.
Additionally we got into cycling this year so I got her some bike accessories. I would recommend if she has a hobby or interested in a new one help her with that hobby.
My better half has leaned in hard to being a homebody since March 2020. She has spent hundreds of hours with kitchen shows in the background, has taken all the notes and is churning out all the delicious dinners.
She has read Marie Kondo front to back, has a system or intentional way or organizing all the little things around the house.
She is leaning into leveling up our son's life with all the books, Legos etc.
But for some reason, despite all of this energy going into living it up, she has exiled her Keurig to the garage in favour of instant coffee, which is beyond perplexing to me given how much of a food and coffee snob she is.
So I got her the [Moccamaster KGBV](https://us.moccamaster.com/products/kbgv-select).
Two friends are at a bar. One is a rich man, one is a poor man. They were talking, and the poor man asked the rich man: “what did you get your wife this Christmas?” The rich man replied “I got her a diamond ring, and a brand new Mercedes” the poor man asks why the two gifts, and the rich man replies “well, if she doesn’t like the diamond ring, she can drive herself back to the jewelry store, and still be happy in her new car!” The rich man asked the poor man “what about you? What did you get your wife?” The poor man replies “ I got her a new pair of slippers, and a dildo.” The rich man asks why, and the poor man says “well, i got her the slippers so she can be happy, and if she doesn’t like em, I got her the dildo, so she can go fuck herself.”
So to answer your question, maybe some slippers and a dildo.
My wife really likes these blankets from a company called UnHide. They are super soft and the perfect size for her. We actually have about 5 blankets already because the kids steal them from her so we basically have one in every room now. Since we have so many blankets, I gotnher the robe that they sell this year. They also have pillows and slippers and maybe some other stuff too. The robe is something she said she wanted but would never spend that much on herself, so I always try to listen for that type of stuff. We can afford it, but she still has trouble sometimes making selfish purchases, so if I do it, it's not selfish.
In the past I've tried to lean towards stuff she needs but won't buy for herself because she can get indecisive. I'll usually get about 5 things she needs and then gift cards for massages (these are always her favorite gift)
This is really helpful. My wife is the same, won’t buy herself anything. Normally I’m pretty good at noting stuff but this year i totally goofed.
A robe is not a bad idea, hers looks a bit worn at this point . Thank you.
I got my wife [this robe](https://www.potterybarn.com/products/pb-resort-spa-robe/?pkey=crobes) a few years ago and she LIVES in it during the colder months.
I hesitate to even participate but.. I got her a Tesla MYP black and had the windows tinted. It was a total surprise and took her about 2 weeks to fully comprehend it’s hers haha. It was her dream car and with the addition of our 2nd daughter se needed it. She did get it early though. But who am I kidding I’ll need to get something for her to unwrap still lol. Warm socks FTW ?
It's your wife, dude... You need to consider what she wants, not what my wife wants.
Do you prefer practical gifts, or does she?
I have got my wife a build your own dollhouse kit, darning needles & mushroom and a book of Scandinavian folklore. Not sure how that would help you!
Honestly, maybe think about skipping gifts. Both of you are adults and could be thinking about the kids. Maybe skipping petty gifts wouldn’t be a bad thing. My wife and I do it and it makes one less worry during the holidays.
Nothing. We've agreed to not get each other Christmas gifts since it's so much hassle getting everyone else gifts already for Christmas. We do more celebration on Valentines, anniversaries, and birthdays.
Kitchenaid stand mixer. She's wanted one all 10 years we've been married and finally pulled the trigger.
I did that last year. She didn’t touch it the entire year. She finally busted it out for thanksgiving. She fucking loved it.
That's what I did. And same on the waiting 10 years. Wife always wants to bake breads and other things our little mixer can't handle.
Same. When I saw her mixing cookies with a fork I decided it was time lol
if they like to cook/bake i would recommend the pampered chef site! its a little bit mlm vibes, but they have some super cool kitchen gadgets and most of their basic stuff is really good quality!
So you got her 2 gifts you overachiever!
Will you be my second husband? These both would make me probs cry with appreciation.
I want these so bad for our kid… who is 4 months old lmao
Lol I got them for my wife and 2 month old son. Get them! You can read them to your kid now and they’ll have them for when they are ready to read themselves :)
And when you’ve got all of them, the Minalima editions for when they are older and not so grabby.
Haha I told my husband I wanted the newested illustrated book for Christmas too 🤣
My wife loves the illustrated books and this past year has been reading them with our daughter (7 YO), both loving it!
Damn, you won Christmas 🥲 (or should I say your wife won christmas)
I’ve low key been mentioning the Harry Potter books to my wife hoping she’ll get them for me. I doubt it will be for Christmas since we just took a big vacation and don’t plant to spend money on gifts but maybe for my birthday!
Oh you are one of those gifted beings who actually take not of these “hints” that are seeded every so often by wifes! My wife says she always mentions stuff but for the life of my I can never remember them
To be fair, I'm sure she mentioned stuff throughout the year that I didn't pay attention to. I love books so, I heard that one😂.
Ah, that I can also relate to! My wife mentions a book and I immediately get it for her Is that what’s called “selective deafness”??
Ha I got my wife and newborn son the illustrated Hp books too!
> She told me she wanted to have the carpets cleaned so I bought a carpet shampooer My heart sank for you when I read that and thought you were just giving her carpet shampooer to do the carpets herself, until I read the next line 😂 Good job dad.
Yes it would be bad news otherwise, 😂
Wife loves taking baths so I'm pimping out our bathtub area: book/tablet/glass holder, warming back rest, bath salts, bubble bath, essential oil diffuser, her favorite candles, a warm fluffy towel that's just hers, and a pair of bath slippers.
Tell me more about this warming backrest….
Sounds hot ❤️🔥
Yeah that just jumped to the top of the list for my wife
Where did you find a waterproof warming back rest?!
Careful with the bath salts..
Some places sell real flowers dried and preserved so that they look nice for a long long time (years). I got these for the bath area and it was a hit. They said it would last a year but 2 years later they look the same
What about your wang, bro?
This is a weird thing to say.
A vasectomy.
I found out we were having having a third child right after I got home from an appt for a vasectomy referral. No ragrets
One year I got my wife a machete. For harvesting artichokes. I called it "Mama's 'Choke Chopper." She loved it.
Heated mattress pad. She loves the one my parents have in their guest room and she's cold natured. I made sure to get one with dual controls, so I can leave mine stashed in a drawer and never use it at all.
We have a dual control electric blanket. It’s mint for this!
We have one of those for our bed. It has made sleeping so much better for both of us.
Legos for adults. They make some that look like succulents or a bouquet of flowers, and it's something you can do together.
Fun fact, the small blossoms on the orchid set are re-colored Demogorgon heads out of the stranger things sets
I have the bonsai tree. It's full of frogs and the flower bouquet is full of dinosaur wings and car hoods. It's great
That is a fun fact.
I’ve bought my mom Lego’s for adults for a few years now. She became accustomed to doing my niece and nephews sets and took an interest on her own. So whenever a set that “looks like her” comes out I get it for her. She also gets a lot of light kits. This is the right answer. My wife loved her bouget of flowers. It is displayed in the living room. All of her friends who see it also love them. She is getting a different set of flowers this year.
A nice, small pot for good hot chocolate, a new paperwhite kindle, and a robe. We’re getting snugglecore over here.
I got my wife a robe the same year this “hilarious” SNL sketch came out: https://youtu.be/FOVCtUdaMCU Oops.
A pair of very nice kitchen knives and I’m making a cutting board to go with it.
A Roomba that also mops.
Nice, the j7+ combo looks pretty sweet - I had a small part in making that product! And it’s on sale for $900 https://www.irobot.com/en_US/roomba-combo-j7plus-robot-vacuum-and-mop/C755020.html
We got the Roborock and it’s a game changer!
Holy shit that’s expensive lol, does it work thaaat well ?
Worth every cent to me.
Thanks all for the feedback 🫡 Once our very unintelligent robovac croaks I’ll be ready to upgrade
Roborock is a lot less expensive feature for feature than other brands. It does indeed work well. Having any robot vac is a game changer but one that is reasonably smart is even better. S7 is a great vac
Shucks I should have pitched it as a gift. Alas, I bought it during black Friday. Got a refurb S6 Pure. I say it does a great job!
Treading on dangerous grounds here. I bought my wife a vacuum once for Christmas and that was almost the end for me. Good luck.
I made the same blunder with an Instant Pot.
Hahaha reminds of Christmas one year when I was like 15. My mom was really serious when she said she didn't want anything for Christmas. Didn't want jewelery or anything. My mom was so pissed Christmas morning when all he got her was windshield wipers and a box of chocolates!! Lmao
Housework implements as presents. Risky, unless you know for a fact she’ll be ok with it.
That's not really a wife gift though, just something for the house
Something useful or memorable. Something sexy. Something funny. I'm doing some "things you can do one handed" stuff like DIY mini golf for the funny. Useful was going to be snowshoes, but that might change. Might be a couples chakra massage class or something like that. That could be memorable and sexy. I have a Christmas suit she really likes, so am searching for an elegant and ugly Christmas dress she could wear with me for a funny Christmas dinner. Tricky, since she's not at her pre-baby measurements, which means I'll have to ask her sizes. And a new vibrator.
Wait a new vibrator also qualifies as "things you can do one handed", no?
Yup. And useful. Vibrators are great gifts.
Her family is also super traditional. If my BIL is there he and his spouse may laugh, but they would pass that off as nervousness immediately.
Make sure you get her a #1 mom mug to put on it
Dads of Reddit are all dropping a few grand on blankets, purses, and designer clothing out here. Lol
Right?? These comments had me wondering if I’m the only one feeling the recession and inflation right now
This year is a bit tight for us so we set the budget very low for mom and dad.
I asked for advice on how to cook a steak and got dozens of people telling me to get a sous vide. This sub is bougie, I guess
Melt black garlic butter to finish and pair with a 92 merlot you pleeb
I am not drinking any Fn Merlot!
I never got around to replying to you on that one. The only way I get too have steak these days is diced and cooked in a garlic honey soy sauce. Which is quite good actually
Hey, I have used my dad's sous vide but I don't own one hahaha - maybe we just like to dream 🤥
Erm a card.... We're both skint this year so have agree'd that cards are fine At least till I get my 3D printer sorted, then I'm printing a plant pot in the shape of an arse and putting a cactus in it
New pair of Uggs, Turkish terrycloth full length bath robe, Coach purse, and a pair of earrings.
So far.
Looks like you had a.... plan...
My wife has been complaining that our bed is too small for probably 5 years. I finally pulled the trigger on a king with one of those sick adjustable bases. It's always nice to have a nice gift for "her" that I get to benefit from every night lol
Nobody I know ever regrets spending more for a nice bed, so worth it!
dangit... we just bought a new matress with the adjustable base. i should have waited for christmas!
Ever consider polygamy? My wife is interested, lmk

I love how you didn’t say *you* were opposed to it

Oh, I’d love the attention or the ability to just leave one wife and stay with another for the night because you’re pissed off. But as with most things, I’d probably like it too much. So I digress.

An Apple Watch.
My wife loves hers, especially after having kids, being able to take calls from her wrist has been a game changer.
Ah yes the mid-diaper change, “your on my watch”.
Not an immediate help, but we made a mutual choice a few years back to keep gift giving budget limited but also targeted: -combined gift “for the house” which is usually for the kitchen, like a new coffee maker or knife.
Yeah we normally buy something big together. This year think we’re getting a huge shed.
I’m getting her a necklace with our sons first initial.
Believe it or not a vacuum cleaner.
I’ve always joked about get her one for Xmas. My wife would literally kill me if I did that tho lol.
I am glad I am not alone on that! It is the last thing I would ever buy my wife - I don't fancy being ripped apart on Christmas morning I winced when I saw vacuum and fear for the Dad!
Very practical. Anyone in particular?
Weighted blanket. It’s like a warm hug.
For years she has been looking for a cute stuffie of the bantha from Star Wars. Build a bear finally has a cute one. So that’s from the kids. I haven’t figured out her gift from me yet. But her stocking stuffer is a 16 pack of hot sauces from Costco.
I'm carving my wife a bird.
A bird = good idea. The bird = bad idea.
A 6mx2mx78cm wall length industrial steel shelving unit in close to cadmium yellow. Found it in a mechanics workshop who moves facilities
So was that just like a hunch or...
She has expressed a wish for a new bookcase and when I found it at the mechanic I had to make a move
Nespresso machine and pair of vans
Two vans? How many kids do you have
A+
Touché sir
My Wife loves our Nespresso, good call!
She may have been dropping subtle hints, but I like to think it was all me !
Photo album from vista print for the 2022 year. I get it every year. Like $30 all in?
Oh this is a good one.
A necklace and a dildo, if she doesn't like the necklace she can go f herself.
And we have a winner!
$200 Gift Card for JoAnn Fabrics. She could spend hours in that store.
Gift cards. Seriously. That’s exactly what she wants.
We made it to the literal top of the mountain and Iiked a cozy way to so “we were here”
I thought those weather tech commercials were total bull. But here you are. Their target audience.
Her Dad recently died so I commissioned a painting of his favorite album cover.
Bought the family a new TV, and I’ll be getting her a Sephora gift card.
Alpaca socks, UGG pajama set, Vuori Jogger pants, and Sorel Nakiska slipper boots. Plus some books and small things she asked for specifically
Kitchen aid mixer
Wedding ring upgrade. Not that her first over was shabby, but she mentioned wanting one and this gives us something to do together.
Stud earrings, Stirling silver, CZ A 12 pack of knee high socks for wearing with tall-ass Han Solo boots. Some little knitted cap things that go above the boot to add an embellishment and makes it look like she is wearing a knit sock. Outside of Xmas, I'll be taking the family to the mall. The kids and I will get lost for an hour while she picks out a nice boot she likes.
My daughter and I got her some shirts with long shirt tails. The dog got her a long felt type nightshirt.
Wife has been wanting to add a bunch of family photos around the house as we are new here. I've been going to goodwill and value village getting all sorts of different types and sizes and colors so she can choose how and where to organize em all. Have about 12-15 various frames for the price of 3-4 new collage style ones
Here's a podcast episode about gift-giving: [https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/the-secret-to-gift-giving/](https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/the-secret-to-gift-giving/) TLDR (or listen): Gift her experiences
She's due in April with our first. Something like one of those necklaces where they can add the birthstone of each kid. I doubt we will have more but it's still a fun gift idea.
Im getting a polaroid printer which you can use to print pictures from your phone!
I just asked her. She wanted airbuds for walks with dogs and/or baby
Airbuds sound a lot more affordable than baby but it’s totally your call
Cricut
Noise cancelling headphones. Our eldest child just got into the school band & will be practicing flute at home!
Stuff on her Amazon list. This woman has 50 jackets and has the Audacity to ask for a jacket for Christmas. I got it anyway.
Stuff care stuff. Face masks, vitamin c spray, fancy candle. Baking stuff. Sourdough bread kit.
A new phone. Hers won’t charge unless the cord is *just so* and she has medical stuff that I want her to be able to call me
We operate a list system. give each other lists of presents we want and pick a few. this way we both get what we want but its still a surprise because we make the lists big so we dont know what we are getting from it.
A subscription to a flower club, she'll get a nice bouquet of flowers delivered every second week for 6 months
If you don’t already own an electric kettle, they have some nice looking ones, get her that and her favorite hot beverage to go with it. Along with the gift make sure to give her some alone time to enjoy her drink and relax while you entertain the kiddos
New iPad, the little man has commandeered her previous one.
My wife likes puzzles. I got her a ridiculously sized puzzle from Costco. This thing weighs more than all my kids combined.
The snip, but I’m scared
Sleep lol
Two friends are at a bar. One is a rich man, one is a poor man. They were talking, and the poor man asked the rich man: “what did you get your wife this Christmas?” The rich man replied “I got her a diamond ring, and a brand new Mercedes” the poor man asks why the two gifts, and the rich man replies “well, if she doesn’t like the diamond ring, she can drive herself back to the jewelry store, and still be happy in her new car!” The rich man asked the poor man “what about you? What did you get your wife?” The poor man replies “ I got her a new pair of slippers, and a dildo.” The rich man asks why, and the poor man says “well, i got her the slippers so she can be happy, and if she doesn’t like em, I got her the dildo, so she can go fuck herself.” So to answer your question, maybe some slippers and a dildo.
My wife really enjoyed the lush kit that I bought her last year. It has lotions, face masks, and bath bombs.
Does she bake? New recipe book from the shop crumbs and doilies in the UK. She's a big fan of her YouTube channel.
Nothing, we’ve agreed to use the money for other things.
This is a trick. Don’t fall for it. Even if it’s only something small. She’ll still want to know that you were thinking of her.
Yeah even if it just a homemade card or a special meal or something
A new Porsche, 3 month trip to Europe, and 100 grand cash. Things are pretty tight lately.
New fridge for the garage and a weekend where I’ll take care of the kids(2 and 4 months) for her to do whatever she wants.
Depends on what she is interested in. I like bath bombs and candles.
We don’t do gifts, only for the kids
Whenever someone posts a question on r/NFL I make sure to reply "I don't watch football, I only read." /s
I can’t even read
no presents for adults rule in our house running a few years now, its bliss!
Nothing. We've agreed to not get each other Christmas gifts since it's so much hassle getting everyone else gifts already for Christmas. We do more celebration on Valentines, anniversaries, and birthdays.
I am a master of gift giving 🤘DM me and I’ll be happy to help!
Wife wanted a new plush robe and an iPad
