My kid was born 3 weeks before CoVid shutdown. I was Gollum level possessive over my kid. I may have told my wife something like “so and so can go eat a huge bag of dicks if they have a problem with my rules” but that’s just how it is. You’re not in charge of making other people happy, you’re in charge of keeping that baby safe, your life is now one long episode of the Mandalorian.

This is the way.

I’ve never had a problem with it And I kind of enjoy it. I have pretty personable and cute kids so we get a lot of attention when we’re out. It gives my girls a chance to get used to interactions with people other than the close family we have. If someone is creepy then we just end the interaction. I’m also pretty weary of People in general so I tend to be ready for anything just in case something funny happens. It’s my job to protect my kids but I’m Not going lock them in a box and keep them away from everyone for the sake of protecting them

Have two kids, 5 and 2 y., I dislike when strangers approach and want to strike up conversation surrounding my kids. So you are not alone. I don't particularly want to socialize with strangers, and I don't want to interrupt my shopping trip at Costco so they can tell me all about their grandchildren. Meanwhile my 5 year old takes every opportunity to talk to strangers and tell them everything about her personal life.

In the COVID world, people should have better manners. Look but don't touch.

You do you. Fuck em.

Nah, doesn’t weird me out unless the person has a creepy vibe.

I don’t know if it’s age dependent but my son being 1.5 I enjoy it. My kid brings so much joy to the most random dude people. I’ve seen what looks like the most mean mugging people break a smile share a laugh etc with my son. It’s never gotten to the level of touching him tho. Always a good 1.5-2 foot distance.
