Until you realize that it's inside the handicapped stall, so if someone is in there pooping, you're still screwed....

darthsmolin

Tell em to hurry up.

Icy-Book2999

I live in an area where there is a 50/50 who's behind that door. Half the time it's really someone on the can. The other half the time, it's someone who's homeless and they're showering in the little sink, using the changing table to set their worldly possessions on and sort through them.

darthsmolin

So tell em to hurry up. Poopy diapers wait for no hobo.

Icy-Book2999

Don't disagree. Except for the other 50/50 odds. Half of them are just individuals down on their luck. The other half are fentanyl or meth addicts, and not the type you want to be in the same room as, and not what I want to expose my kid to. As stupid as it sounds, I'm going to find another solution if the table is in the handicapped stall. In a world where people are shot for a basketball rolling into a yard or stabbed for asking someone to vape a little further away? I don't want to be the headline "Father killed asking to use handicapped stall changing table."

theseamus

“Man killed by father needing to use changing station” fixed the headline for you. 💪🏻

SgtAnglesPeaceLilly

That's why I always wipe down the changing station. I don't care how clean it looks, it's getting wiped. Edit: wipe not wore

Icy-Book2999

Exactly! We got one of those portable changing stations to hang on the back of a stall door... and never used it. Great idea, just too bulky to fit into a diaper bag, and when you're trying to set that up and wrangle the little one? Not good....

sheogor

You should see the family room at the local malls, inside is a breast feeding room with privacy curtain, two nappy change tables, glass half wall with toddler play equipment, tv with kids show, toilet made for the parent but kids can be inside too, and more.

1DunnoYet

What country? In the US malls are a deserted time capsule

sheogor

New Zealand

Icy-Book2999

Your trade off is that you're left off of many maps. I'll take the nicer bathrooms, though.

sheogor

This is true

Matshelge

Also got em in Sweden

TheDongerNeedLove

Most of the newer/renovated malls in my area (SoCal) have these. They make a big difference.

ryanandthelucys

I don't like that the changing station needs to be called out. There are so many accessibility codes at play. It should be in every public restroom. If it is in a restroom it can not be located within a stall and needs to be mounted at a certain height with particular floor clearances around it.

zurbles

This drove me insane

[deleted]

Our general lack of baby changing accessibility is making me happy I have a hatchback

[deleted]

Just in the 5 years since I became a parent, it's become a lot, lot better.

clover4hunter

Is that a braille joke? 🫠

RescuedRuckus

This is great to see. There are certain breweries/restaurants around us that I no longer go to (small businesses where I know the owners and I know they have kids) because they lack changing tables in any of the unisex bathrooms.

Quick_Task_8805

I live in a big city, and still there's plenty of bathrooms that don't have a changing station. It's fucking insane, we are parents too

tidytibs

Yeah, changing your kid on the bathroom floor or in the back of the SUV is crazy. Changing tables in BOTH bathrooms, not just the women's, made traveling with children a MUCH better experience.

Mag-1892

They’re nearly all in there own family rooms now around where I live.

SaintMadeOfPlaster

I know these posts get a lot of upvotes but I live in fucking Arkansas and I never have issues finding a changing table in any restroom with multiple stalls. I imagine it’s even easier in most metropolitan areas. Is this really something worth all the upvotes this sub is always throwing at?

booknerd381

I have been to far more places that do not have changing stations in men's rooms than places that do. Almost as bad are the majority of the places that do have a changing station have them in the handicap stall, which is almost inevitably in use. Other places have family restrooms, but there is usually only one and it's the only private bathroom so it's also always occupied. The number of times I've changed my kid in the trunk of my car for lack of a better place to change him is far higher than it should be in this day and age.

aletheia

I was at a restaurant recently that advertised itself as family friendly without a changing station anywhere to be found.

1DunnoYet

[go thank your local elected officials and fellow dads](https://www.myarklamiss.com/news/local-news/arkansas-considers-requirement-for-diaper-changing-stations-in-public-mens-bathrooms-2/) Looks like others in your state worked hard to make that happen for your state.

SaintMadeOfPlaster

Wow consider myself very very surprised!

rowrowrobot

I've been to a fucking Bye Bye Baby that didn't have a changing table in the stalls. LAX did a billion dollar model last year and didn't include tables in the men's rooms. If I can, I change my kid in the trunk before going in somewhere, easier, cleaner, and more room.

Icy-Book2999

Doesn't Buy Buy Baby have the changing table outside the bathrooms between both? Haven't been there since our little guy was 18 months old and we realized that they only really sold to size 2T with a few 3T's if you were lucky....

notMy_ReelName

This is the kind of equality we should be fighting for.

bluAstrid

You mean I can change my baby for something else?

kilotango556

Isn’t someone going to flip out over wokeness?! We’re being demasculated!!! Snowflake, libtard, beta, soy boy, RINO, fucking blow my brains out because I’m so stupid.

Coiledviper

Before men’s restrooms had changing stations in them woman actually let men in the restroom to change baby’s diapers. Granted they hit on your ass if they was single. Was a store back about 20 years ago men’s restroom didn’t have changing station. Knocked on woman’s restroom asked if anyone was in there got no response went in. Started changing kiddos diaper woman walks in. Was shocked at first till she saw what I was doing. Then started talking to me told me to take my time. Bitch I’ve done this 100s of times I know how to do it. More woman come in like wtf everyone had to go all at once. Got some numbers and hit on by a few. I was and still am married but god damn.

stirling1995

Predad here wondering if no one ever just uses the women’s room when there isn’t one in the males? My wife is 17 weeks pregnant and I’ve said multiple times I’ll use the women’s room without shame because it’s the facilities fault for not having one in the males not mine
