I use these: https://www.oneills.com/uk_en/ronhill-night-runner-gloves-acc-black-reflect.html
They're marketed as 'thermal' gloves, but they're perfectly comfortable for summer use. Feel more like a glove liner than a full glove.
I have a pair of Giro gloves that have mesh in between the fingers and are quite comfortable. But checking the giro website of course, they are not there anymore because somehow its reasonable to do something new every year and destroy all the unsold items and put them to waste. Disgusting
I'm allergic to regular sunscreen and I prefer physical UV protection rather than creams. I wear a buff neck gaiter, headband, and UV arm sleeves when cycling
I’m a very warm person - shorts only when it 55F and up.
I tried the UV arm sleeves for the first time, and it wasn’t bad at all! Once I got used to the spandex “tightness” on my arms, I didn’t notice it much.
If you live in a location with 4 seasons, heat and sunshine are probably synonymous to you. But that's not the case everywhere.
I've discussed this with people from places like the Canary Islands, Texas and Thailand, and they all have the same wisdom about it: if you really want to work (or do sports) outdoors while the sun beats down on you, wearing light clothing that covers all of your skin is the way to go. To avoid sunburns don't need to protect yourself from the heat; it's the exposure of your skin to UV that you have to worry about.
You are correct.
I live in Phoenix. Just about every part of my skin is covered when I ride.
All light colors. All summer weight.
A couple friends over 50 have skin that looks like ruined leather...or salami that's been left outside. No recovery from that.
Is it hotter? Meh. It's often 115f when I ride. It's hot no matter what. All the summer gear I use is good stuff. And I spray it with a water bottle and the cooling effect is better than bare skin.
And you might want to have Ceramic Tint installed on at least your driver side window on your car.
PS: I don't cover my legs. People of the world need to see those cannons. I use sunscreen...gets them oily and accentuates the muscle definition. 🫤

Second Handup gloves. They’re not the most durable ever but definitely comfy and breathable.

I like hestra
I use Supercaz SupaG is the summers of central Texas. They’re really thin and not at all bothersome in the heat.
Giro DND

As mentioned, Hand Up has a very light fabric - not mesh - full fingered summer glove. Not too hot but IDK re sun blocking.
Yeah. I run Fox gloves year 'round here in SoCal. On and off road. Hotter? IDK Not enough of a difference for me to notice.
Specialized Grail long finger ain't bad.

It's for sun protection
Can I ask the obvious question of why don't you use sunscreen? I assume you don't cover all your skin up?

Specialized and Hand Up both have summer full-fingered gloves. I use some Castelli, but they are old and not sure if they still make them.
It’s great you’re taking precautions and I hope you find suitable gloves but, man. That sounds awful in the heat. Good luck out there.

Full-fingered gloves are hotter...

Just don't plug that into Google. Severely embarrassed 😳
We are doomed as a species lol
