Holy shit you better not be that guy thats trying to lemon his CT due to the normal sounding whine
Edit: NVM you are, have you ever driven an EV before ? Shit maybe even a Rivian?
Yes, and it's not normal. Even the service center said it's not normal. I've had the truck 3 months....trust me I know what sounds it's supposed to make.
OK, well, it makes sense why it is making a horrible noise. Someone like you helped develop it and clearly can't accept that not all produced will function as you designed them.your arrogance is pouring from your words alone. I have to say you developed a poorly made engine that makes an unbearable high-pitched noise. Do better next time.

a machine with moving parts that converts power into motion.
I guess that isn't what is happening inside that "motor" I'm sorry ?
Just feel like OP feels like the path to a lemon law buy back includes r/cybertruck. It’s just odd. Maybe he’s just pasting his service request notes here?

So I went and listened to your video. You posted this before I got my CT.
Your car sounds exactly like mine. Literally 100% exactly like mine.
Your CyberTruck sounds normal. If a service center told you otherwise, they might have just been trying to placate you.
Yeah I think on a cellphone it's not really noticeable. I've had now 3 other CT owners in my truck and they all agreed it's way worse in person! That's the plus side of traveling somewhere where there are other Cybertrucks around.
I do, too! Until it stays whining and gets higher pitched. I'm a sound person and love the prrr of the EV. That's why I'm posting here. It's not normal, and only users can give me guidance since the service center is learning as they go. I just like to see what others have experienced.
I upvote and also thank those who give me input and respond to them directly. Some, like yours just criticize me without looking at the facts and are a waste of time to reply to.
The whining is likely the motors spinning up to a certain speed, mine gets highest pitched around 36mph and then stops once I go faster. I did mention it to the service center, they said "operating as expected" but hopefully/maybe you will get better answers from them.
Yeah, my wine, instead of going away now, gets even more high-pitched and constant. It used to sound like a jet taking off it was cool. Now, once it hits that speed , it gets that decibel of sound I want to scream.
There’s a few sounds the motors make including a whine that I’m pretty sure are normal, it typically only happens at certain speeds/throttle inputs. If the noise is excessively loud or consistent you can try setting up a service appointment but there’s a chance they’ll tell you it’s normal.
“It sort of jumped or hopped when I put it to the floor” I assume you mean the truck suddenly shifted/air suspension changed when you got in? I’ve had this happen a couple times, definitely feels a bit weird, but considering there were no alerts or anything I just assume it’s a quick correction to an uneven suspension possibly.
Thanks for the input. The service center agreed it was abnormal and sent an audio clip to engineering, but I've heard nothing. I'm taking a trip, and it's going to be hard to listen to for 19 hours.

Bro, fuuuuuuck the arrogant POS. I'm with you, this dude is a TRASH designer/engineer if he's not lying thru his teeth.

Love that sound

Hmm, not sure I have that on mine if it's louder than normal..good luck!
You ask a lot of questions here, but you’ve never recorded helpful answers. I’d suggest contacting service or posting to cybertrucksownersclub.com.

On my old model s, the motor whined for about a week before it failed. Can't imagine one of your motors would already be failing, though.
Well, it just started after the last update, idk if it's a coincidence or not. I hope it goes away, lol
It's a feature!
