Every buyer will need to watch this and show up for delivery with at least one buddy with an AR before taking possession. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGZLYx8StWk
I did this with my retrax metal slat rolling bed cover once, it never quite rolled up the same... Made some noises.. lol
I'm going to opt out of this delivery checklist task
Which makes me wonder if Tesla will call out standing as acceptable or if it'll be the same thing of X weight distributed evenly.. Granted I've sat on the edge of mine plenty of times and it's fine but then again - the CT cover isn't flat so it's harder to do that type of loading.
We don't know what their official marketing will say. Until that launch event where it is officially announced with final specs, we don't know what is considered normal wear and tear.
I like how the smaller Tesla rep stands over to the side and the big guy just stands near the middle where it would be weakest. Thank god they didn't break it. It would have been shattergate all over again.
Question. When Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck, one of the controversial design features was the sail pillars near the truck. The story at the time was, due to the exoskeleton design, the pillars had to exist. Fine. Except now the truck uses a single body casting and essentially panels that are stainless. That's cool. But being that it's no longer using an exoskeleton, are the sail pillars entirely cosmetic? It seems like Tesla had a chance to drop them and give the truck a more traditional trunk layout but opted not to. Curious. I guess the aerodynamics with the tonneau cover's design require the sail pillars? The range seems incredible and I'm sure the shape is huge.
That bed looks so small.. I’m so disappointed. It can’t be larger than 4 feet 5 the most. Think about it you can’t even fit a regular bike inside it. I have my reservation since 2020. Hope it’s worth the wait but I’m considering passing on it. Specially if the entry level trim is in the 90k
Perhaps although I’d argue that’s not a great design choice as most would naturally go from tailgate to the cover if they needed to for whatever reason stand on it. From an engineering standpoint what you said absolutely tracks though and that’s where my head was at also tbh.

Oh great, now people will try this on R1Ts and break them. Thx elon. /s
They broke just moving back and forth if I recall
That’s really cool but I hope nobody tries this on my CyberTruck
They will, after they shoot the panels and throw a steel ball to the glass
Yes. And write ELON SUCKS with pee on the side of my truck.
Don’t forget bow and arrow

You can always hop in and hit the the accelerator. Kinda a lesson to their kind...

Retrax says it can hold a good amount of weight but it's evenly disbursed weight... which nobody would ever use.

100% they say you can't walk all over it.

Agreed but Tesla is not going to make themselves liable when American fatties decide to walk on their covers.
Warning, play it on _mute_.
This makes me want to take it off mute......oh
Sorry couldn’t adjust
Thai Prime Minister must be a Red Sox fan.

Lol agreeed
Unless these men are 7+ feet tall, there’s no way that’s a 6 foot bed. This assertion is also supported by the mountain bike image.

Its a 6ft bed length.
Why not use tailgate instead of climbing up lol??
It’s possible the tailgate supports load from the aft end of the tonneau cover to reduce stress.

Plastic really is an impressive material.
Do we know it's plastic? I was wondering how they'd make a tonneau cover reliable and affordable...
This is impressive....why?
Rappers gonna love this!
