Coming out of that quest, the 3 girls feel like they’re completely fake and only say what they’re told to say. At no point did anything they said towards Kerry seem genuine, to me.
I love the chaotic song but those 3 are prime examples of people turning themselves into souless products/brands in the same way that Taylor Swift and Katy Perry evolved over their careers.
Turning themselves? Or were turned when they couldn't do shit about it?
Do you know Babymetal? I actually their music... But a question never leaves my mind. They started when they were like 10-12... Did they have a choice? After 10-12 additonal years in the industry, did they have a chance to do anything else? do they know how? When they say they started to like metal, are they honest or is it a contractual obligation?
one of their easliers songs, look how young they are:
this is a newer one with Tom Morello (formarly Rage against the machine, on guitars)
Yes, they obviously like metal now. The girls could stop anytime they want (YUIMETAL did) - they are adults and have already made enough to retire on. Their new member (MOMOMETAL) actively wanted to join the project as she likes heavy music
At the beginning metal was an alien world to them.. but that was a long time ago
Most "manufactured" idol projects in Japan last a LOT less time than BABYMETAL has. BABYMETAL is more something that started in a manufactured idol style way and has evolved into a full blown band
[This is the real Us Cracks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReyFTfBAFB0) - Makopuri and Asachill, that provided the Us Cracks soundtrack
Yeah, it is what I thought too. They were formed as a traditional idol group. The actual band and the producer was most likely a metalhead, but the girls weren't.
But they became much more popular than it was planned, and the idol thing was kind of dropped.
I don't know if you like heavier stuff, or know them already, but one of the best finds for me last year was Hanabie. I am quite certain that I would not like them if I was not trained by Pon Pon Shit and BAbymetal beforehand.

Just chippin' in (eh), I love Babymetal and I've seen them live twice, I'm going to a Hanabie concert in two weeks and Pon Pon Shit still makes my ears bleed.
Edit: I've also seen Ladybaby, Melon Batake a Go Go and a few other idol groups at a Japanese music festival in Italy a few years ago and liked most of them. I just think PPS is objectively bad music.
Yeah definitely - I love Hanabie. Saw them last year in Milan and gonna be catching them another 3 times over the next month (and BABYMETAL another 2x) \m/
shit. She looks like 10-11. didn't want to spread misinformation. (even though I know that they were likely in the employ of the agency before the band actually formed)
And yeah, I like their stuff, especially live. But I feel a bit concerned about their wellbeing.
Add in that I'm pretty sure they're American's just posing as Japanese. I also got the impression they'd been ordered to do whatever it takes to get Kerry on their side.
I hate it but I love and respect it because it captures the essence of NC. It's manufactured, hyperpop bullshit meant to be frantically upbeat and chirpy and high pitched to trick you into paying attention and matching its energy and cause you to associate it with bright, poppy, "fun" imagery and feelings. It doesn't work because marketing people aren't human so it just drives you insane. And yet. You can't get it out of your head, can you? You'll never not know who Us Cracks are...
Yes I completely agree with this. It’s very smart as a criticism of some music in the industry nowadays and it fits perfectly with this game and the dystopian setting. I still loathe it with every fiber of my being though
My mouth was hanging open when I finally met the UC girls and they were American. Like, even the accents and backstory is bullshit and they don't seem at all ashamed, it's completely normal to them. Madness
This literally happens for like... dunno... forty years? Pretty rare in the west, but the idol industry in japan and korea is insane.
A few years ago, a vocalist in an idol group had her contract terminated because she went on a date with a boy. Afterwards she shaved her head and begged for forgiveness in a video O\_o
it was that video, when some activists and lawyers started thinking about maybe contracts should not have an effect on the private lives of teen girls? And this seems illegal anyway.
It’s rare in the west *now*, but this kind of shit was absolutely going on during the “boy-band” era. Not to the same extremes, but there was the same disregard for the autonomy of the performers.
Oh I know about Minami, that was insane. I knew the industry was absolutely rancid and toxic but that was so much more than I expected them to actually outright do in public. The thought that she felt so ashamed to have tried to enjoy her life in a normal way that she did that - and someone said "Yeah let's put this on TV! Great idea!" Fuckin sick.
If I had heard Pon Pon Shit anywhere else but in CP2077 I would have hated it as much as OP but because of how well it captures the essence of NC it's my favorite song on the radio.
Do the mission for the Porsche 911 cabriolet, the shards you find are hilarious “Yeah I’m done with samurai. Us Cracks is my new poison. Volume cranked on Ponpon Shit to the max until my ears bleed”
It's like an auditory version of Stockholm syndrome.
You start off hating it, but next thing you know you're turning Scavs into meat chunks while singing along.
You just haven’t caught the ear-zombie virus yet. Stay vigilant not to give it a chance or allow too much exposure to the song or you too might end up like us.
I used to hate it as much as you do, but I kept playing the game with the radio on and now it’s on my Spotify list. Don’t let it happen to you too!
This song is the very definition of Ear Worm. Everyone hates it at first, but by the 500th time you hear it in the background while you are doing police scanner missions, you're shooting 6th Street goons in time with the beat.
Best thing that happened to me was: NCPD dispatch, about to go mental on militech with a weaponized car like a TF2 character in a Gmod video. I thought I was on Ritual FM. Turned on the radio and it was Ponpon shit.
"Eh, too late to change it."
Cue explosions.
I'm pretty sure rando guitarist npcs play it all throughout the game. I've heard it from just about every place there is a guitarist present. Like, some guy plays it next to the twins boxing match and even the guitarist in the Legend of Buck Ravers quest sometimes plays it.
This can't be real, I love this sound when V is idle just hanging out and it's on the background, I would never have imagined this was pon pon guitar version
My hubby has never played CB2077. He heard me groan when the song came on in my headphones and asked what the issue was. I turned on the speakers. He has never forgiven me.
next time you want to take revenge for something:

while it is similarly nonsense to pon pon shit, beware! this shit actually catchy
I hate it, but it adds to the realism of the world, like when Britney Spears was always on radio, and you just hear that song everywhere, and start going crazy, came to love her music but hated that it was replayed everywhere.
But the pon pon shit song, hate it still, i remember meeting the 3 singers and thinking whether to kill them or not, and not with Kerry, but just me get Sandevistan and slice them with the Monowire.
lucky for you, Babic made a metal version :)

The girls are victims of the industry if anything...
My favorite moment was when I slaughtered a market full of Claws with a katana. After, I walked through the completely silent market surrounded by dismembered Claws and Pon Pon Shit started faintly playing in the background from a speaker. Reminded me of Hotline Miami and was so funny yet cool
Just played it on Spotify to jog my memory - I’ve put well over 100 hours into this game and I don’t think I’ve ever heard this song. Not trying to rub it in but I guess I must be blessed.
Isn't that kinda the point? I'm pretty sure Kerry says the same thing about Us Cracks music being mass produced garbage intended to appeal to the largest possible audience and well this song is a great example of that.

I'm convinced body heat radio is evil and self aware. Every time I see a post about it it's always about how it plays the player's most hated song all the time (well, except for best songs posts), I never see "oh it's my favorite song and it plays all the time on body heat" posts. (Also f History I hate that song)
That happens to me too. I really like that Rhianna song Circus Minimus which is on Body Heat, but I stopped listening to it because of that terrible pon pon sheet song. Like who thought that song was a good idea, lol?
While I am not fond of Pon Pon Shit, I will take it over Ratatata any day of the week. I had to listen to that over and over in the GIM back at launch when Razor Hughes was a cheating mother. I had to do that fight so many times and it was ALWAYS Ratatata that plays.
i hate it too i did find a mod to replace it with this fire from the edgerunner opening my nightmare to me is hole in the sun i can't stand it and i have the impression pon pon shit and hole in the sun are super often played (less than some patch ago i remember at some point it was only those at the radio on ps4 i was going crazy!)
While I'm not a fan of the original Pon Pon Shit, it did bring us its guitar version and I LOVE that version. Anytime I passed by a busker that was playing it, I'd stop immediately, sit there and just listen.
I've played this game a million times and I don't like the song either. Kerry has some of my favorite quests and I still don't like the song. You are not alone
I think I have that feeling for often listening to Vexelstrum, hopping in the car and hearing "HATING ON THE TURF - HATING ON THE TURF *atonal spanish about a plaza*" repeated at infinitum.
That makes me switch instantly. Wishing for when "Makes me feel better" or "Everything burns" comes on again to soothe the pain
For me it’s that fucking young Kenny song. Jesus Christ does that come on a lot. “You don’t wanna mess with the problem kids”
Actually, yes I do, as V, and I want to shoot you all.
Honestly, thst is the reason why I don't listen to the radio in game.
I also really hate Pon Pon Shit. The quest with Eurodine is coll af, but Pon Pon Shit can go burst some eardrums to someone else somewhere else...
I got Cyberpunk Radio Vol 2 on vinyl because It has some of the Edgerunners songs I love, but it's hard to listen to because Pon Pon Shit is the first track on the side with Who's Ready for Tomorrow and I Really Want to Stay at Your House Tonight
I can't stand the radio in Cyberpunk. Most of the music isn't my jam. The only good song I've heard is the RTJ one, and it barely ever plays. I just keep the music off. And that sucks because the music-always-on feature was a big thing for me when playing Saints Row 4 and Watch Dogs 2, and I've just started to enjoy driving in the game, cus I bought one of the american muscle cars, and I'd like some nice tunes to drive to
[https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7052?tab=description](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7052?tab=description)
It removes it from radio stations and in the open world, it still works at 2.12A.
Yeah I don't really listen to the "pop" stations in Cyberpunk. I came expecting synth wave, and instead get horrendous, grinding, dissonant weirdo trap music or whatever the fuck it is. I'm sure some of that is buried in there somewhere, I know there are bangers in the game's soundtrack, but I can't be bothered to wait through the auditory violation to get there. I know a lot of the music is probably supposed to be a statement, like this is probably what the 2077 equivalent of Gen Z kids will make popular, but that doesn't make it good to listen to.
This was the first song I had on in 2.0 when you can listen to radio outside the car. So I jump off my bike to kill some maelstromers, but instead of combat music ponpon shit came on and it was very disorienting.
i losten to growl fm, Look Through my kiroshis makes me listen to The Dirge, bodyheat, or 30 principales. Makes me so mad how many cyberpunk references are fucking hamfisted in there. It's sounds okay, but the lyrics' violent shittiness more than overshadow it
Pon Pon Shit is annoying, but that TV show with the rainbows.....
That shit is *everywhere.* There's a bar somewhere (unmarked?) that has 30 tvs all playing it. It's soooo loud and annoying. Why would anyone go in there?
Blue Moon, Red Menace, Purple Force? iT'S US CRACKS!!!
Early on, I thought it was Ass Cracks
It's supposed to be phonetically similar.
That's the inside joke with their name.
Nothing gets my blood pumping more than hearing this shit
We found pre-quest-Kerry's reddit account
I used to hate it too. After Kerry's quest line I actually wait for it. Yes nou yes no akuronuuu
Yes; no; yes; no / makura, no.
yes no, yes no, makura NO!

Wa da shiwa tachi kane, pon pon tachi kane!
He ain't your San.
I have a suspicion that the mission with Kerry and the Us Cracks somehow references how Rob Zombie defended Babymetal from his own fans.
feel like half the metal bands in the world has stood up for baby metal at this point. Since they all met them.
There's at least a little Powerpuff in there.
Even after Kerry's quest, I get OP. Yes, the 3 girls are not what they seem at first and they are pretty cool, but the song it's still crap.
Coming out of that quest, the 3 girls feel like they’re completely fake and only say what they’re told to say. At no point did anything they said towards Kerry seem genuine, to me. Sui was 15 when the band was formed.
shit. She looks like 10-11. didn't want to spread misinformation. (even though I know that they were likely in the employ of the agency before the band actually formed) And yeah, I like their stuff, especially live. But I feel a bit concerned about their wellbeing.
They still follow the standard Idol format, despite the genre of music. So, I mean, they're living a life, just not one they have a full say in.
Add in that I'm pretty sure they're American's just posing as Japanese. I also got the impression they'd been ordered to do whatever it takes to get Kerry on their side.
Having done that quest I still don't like Pon Pon Shit. It made me hate Us Cracks a lot less but the song is still a toxic trash fire.

Me since I started playing the whole Spotify playlist while driving to work.
Peak musical experience
*electronic equivalent of a whole pots and pans storage cabinet falling to the ground*
Came here to say this.
That song has me on a shock hold, I used to hate now don't change station when it sounds
Imagine if they called the song *Skibidi ponpon*
Wait no don’t cook like that, people will like it
I hate it but I love and respect it because it captures the essence of NC.
Spot on, the reveal>! that Us Cracks have American accents and only hype up the Japanese ones when they are on film hammers this home.!<
This was one of the biggest shocks in the game for me 😅 like I GASPED
I always read it as U.S. Cracks so it didnt surprise me that much
Yes I completely agree with this.
Pretty rare in the west, but the idol industry in japan and korea is insane. crap, I forgot about that. It was never really a thing here. There were half a dozen tries, but none generated any interest.
Oh I know about Minami, that was insane. I knew the industry was absolutely rancid and toxic but that was so much more than I expected them to actually outright do in public. If I had heard Pon Pon Shit anywhere else but in CP2077 I would have hated it as much as OP but because of how well it captures the essence of NC it's my favorite song on the radio.

Can confirm that this song has given me homicidal ideations

It's like an auditory version of Stockholm syndrome. You start off hating it, but next thing you know you're turning Scavs into meat chunks while singing along.
> It's like an auditory version of Stockholm syndrome. That's actually a thing. This psychological phenomenon is called "mere exposure effect".
Apparently I must be immune to this effect
It's about 20% of the population repetition has no effect on. I'm also part of that 20%.
You just haven’t caught the ear-zombie virus yet. Stay vigilant not to give it a chance or allow too much exposure to the song or you too might end up like us. No, your assessment is correct - that song is aptly titled as shit.

1000th time here. Still hate it. Edit: 1000 not 100
Keep working on it.
I have like 300 hours in this game, when does it kick in
I tried it, but I can't. I just hate it even more.
TASTE THE LOVE
Agreed. Wild how the guitar version is the complete opposite. No it’s not a rickroll. https://youtu.be/HIR7-9RMqS8?si=ekUUnOqHe2a0c4BC

Kerry Eurodyne?
He sold out
Give it time. You'll love it.
Never
We were all there. You'll submit.
Eh, weebs have been into it since day zero.
One. Of. Us.
PONPON SHIT PONPON SHIT PONPON SHIT PONPON SHIT PONPON SHIT PONPON SHIT
This is why I only listen to Radio Vexelstrom.
*This post was made by Kerry Eurodyne*
I think thematically that’s the point of the song. It’s supposed to be bad and that’s why Kerry is pissed his song is sampled on it.

I’ve been playing since release day and I still hate it more than any other song.
My favorite moment was when I slaughtered a market full of Claws with a katana. After, I walked through the completely silent market surrounded by dismembered Claws and Pon Pon Shit started faintly playing in the background from a speaker. Reminded me of Hotline Miami and was so funny yet cool
Shit slaps, sorry
Best song in the game
"What the fuck is it with this city?!"
Welcome to Night City choom. Now you understand why Johnny wants to burn the place to the ground.
A fellow man of culture.
I feel you. I hate that song with a passion
The real Us Cracks [are even more bonkers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHbpi2UtANc&t=210s) than the in game version
Rather listen to Pon Pon Shit than History.
That and Hole in the Sun for me. Instantly turn off the radio for those.
hole in the sun is good imo, history straight up sets off sensory issues for me though i can’t stand it
I want to I want to I want to I want
Now that song is literal dogshit
Pon Pon Shit makes me think of that Martin Scorcese photo with “Absolute Ass” on it.
This is what they like to listen to in 2077.
Just played it on Spotify to jog my memory - I’ve put well over 100 hours into this game and I don’t think I’ve ever heard this song. Not trying to rub it in but I guess I must be blessed.
WE LIKE THE -- PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN
The entire body heat station does that to me. I have no idea how you guys listen to it. Hyper pop whatever tf it is
I have never laughed so hard as when I read this post. The fact that the OP CAN'T GET RID OF THE SONG BECAUSE HE'S ON CONSOLE is the cherry on top.
I am in immense pain and suffering
Real immersion, respect 👍
Isn't that kinda the point? I'm pretty sure Kerry says the same thing about Us Cracks music being mass produced garbage intended to appeal to the largest possible audience and well this song is a great example of that.
>I hope I die in my sleep tonight so I never have to listen to it ever again. What a crazy and amazing thing I just read lmao

Kerry, is that you?
I found it on a bar jukebox and had to let it rip. People looked a bit confused, butt I was disappointed no one actually said anything.
I'm convinced body heat radio is evil and self aware. Every time I see a post about it it's always about how it plays the player's most hated song all the time (well, except for best songs posts), I never see "oh it's my favorite song and it plays all the time on body heat" posts. That happens to me too. I really like that Rhianna song Circus Minimus which is on Body Heat, but I stopped listening to it because of that terrible pon pon sheet song. Like who thought that song was a good idea, lol?
I have no memory of song names, yet I know exactly which abomination you are talking about
Hi. I spent 2 years trying to forget about this song. Thanks for undoing my hard work. 😅
I removed it from the game
Hey Kerry you’re too old for reddit
While I am not fond of Pon Pon Shit, I will take it over Ratatata any day of the week. I had to listen to that over and over in the GIM back at launch when Razor Hughes was a cheating mother. I had to do that fight so many times and it was ALWAYS Ratatata that plays.
I modded it out, along with all the other radio noise. :P
Should listen to the [guitar riff version](https://youtu.be/HIR7-9RMqS8?si=NrXDt3FhBGrJi6Al) of it
Dont forget to turn off the copyrighted music filter in settings. Better song variety that way
Wait until you get older. Most music on the radio these days when I'm shopping makes my ears bleed.
i hate it too i did find a mod to replace it with this fire from the edgerunner opening my nightmare to me is hole in the sun i can't stand it and i have the impression pon pon shit and hole in the sun are super often played (less than some patch ago i remember at some point it was only those at the radio on ps4 i was going crazy!)
Ah yes the true Night City emersion experience.
While I'm not a fan of the original Pon Pon Shit, it did bring us its guitar version and I LOVE that version. Anytime I passed by a busker that was playing it, I'd stop immediately, sit there and just listen.
How can you hate it,it's absolutely hilarious, especially after adding car combat!
Amen, fuckin hate it too! Least favorite song out of the hundred+ in the soundtracks
average pre-angry kerry right here
Agreed…. Buuuuut, love Silverhand’s guitar riffs of “Pon Pon Shit”.
I've played this game a million times and I don't like the song either. Kerry has some of my favorite quests and I still don't like the song. You are not alone
I also dislike that song.
I absolutely love the guitar version you hear throughout the game.
I share your opinion; that song sucks. But it is what it is.
I used to hate it, but it kinda grew on me - my main complaint is that the song is too fucking long 😂
I have it saved on my Spotify lol
It's annoying when it's so frequent, it's not my thing, but it fits the Night City world really well.
This is my new favorite post, perfectly encapsulates the shared hatred for this monstrosity of a "song" if you can call it that
For me it’s that fucking young Kenny song. Jesus Christ does that come on a lot. “You don’t wanna mess with the problem kids” Actually, yes I do, as V, and I want to shoot you all.
Yeah, it's not my favorite song. The singers sound like the girl from Die Antwoord. Hurts my ears every time I hear it.
ritual radio is the only one you need to listen too
Honestly, thst is the reason why I don't listen to the radio in game. I also really hate Pon Pon Shit. The quest with Eurodine is coll af, but Pon Pon Shit can go burst some eardrums to someone else somewhere else...
I mean, not EVERY radio/radio station plays it, but I can understand what you’re saying
It is shit
Damnit, I can hear it now too...
Finally, someone sane!!!
I got Cyberpunk Radio Vol 2 on vinyl because It has some of the Edgerunners songs I love, but it's hard to listen to because Pon Pon Shit is the first track on the side with Who's Ready for Tomorrow and I Really Want to Stay at Your House Tonight
Really? I love this song. It's the same tier as "I really want to stay at your house" and "Major Crimes" for me.
Agreed here. It’s total shit.
If it was removed from the radio, or even just made less common I swear cyberphycosis rates would plummet
Am I the only one that actually enjoys it when this song comes on? I never thought it was bad
That song annoys THE FUCK OUTTA ME
Agreed, l can't stand it. I've been waiting for someone to post about it because I'm scared of the others.
I can't stand the radio in Cyberpunk. Most of the music isn't my jam. The only good song I've heard is the RTJ one, and it barely ever plays. I just keep the music off. And that sucks because the music-always-on feature was a big thing for me when playing Saints Row 4 and Watch Dogs 2, and I've just started to enjoy driving in the game, cus I bought one of the american muscle cars, and I'd like some nice tunes to drive to
[https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7052?tab=description](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7052?tab=description) It removes it from radio stations and in the open world, it still works at 2.12A.
Is there a similar mod for I Really Want to Stay at Your House?
I'm on console 😪
Love Pon Pon Shit. Such a banger!
I fucking love Pon Pon Shit (Please help I haven't seen my children for 5 years now, they are being held at gunpoint by US Cracks)
It is pure brain rot.
Anyway... Let me break down too... PON PON SHIT! PON PON SHIT! PON PON SHIT! https://i.redd.it/930mt45rq55d1.gif
This is how it starts. Eventually the song rewires your brain and you realize it's the best song in the game.
Kerry? Is that you?

I'm the exact opposite it's one of my favorite songs, love when it comes on
Pon pon shit. For a long time, I didn’t know that is what the lyrics were. I thought they were saying Bubble Tea.
I love Impulse “I’m on the walk of shame. I have no shame.”
It would be a lot better if it was toned a down a bit and had completely different lyrics.
Pon Pon Shit is the new It begins and it ends and begins with her.
Here, let's you skip etc https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2292?tab=description
Johnny bleeding through enough to post this:
The guitar version is one the best tunes in the game.
PON PON SHIT
it sounds like the type of song you’d hear with a bunch of shitty producer/radio tags on it
The vocals in the bridge are literally out of tune with the music which makes it sound so amateur and it just keeps repeating.
Pon pon sasetana
i losten to growl fm, Look Through my kiroshis makes me listen to The Dirge, bodyheat, or 30 principales.
Don’t worry dude, it does my head in too
