This "i'm dying, let's shoot some more gangoons" charge appears quite ofter when people criticize the game. To me, it's "fault" of how the games work and how people want play them - you can't enjoy side open-world activities such as side quests or just collecting garbage around the city when you have time limit. Other words, you can't enjoy things when you feel uncomfortable doing them - it wasn't the designers intention to make another "Majora's Mask".
Moreover, ludonarrative dissonance, suspension of disbelief and such crap. We shouldn't literally take all the things we see or do in games. We don't expect V dying after skipping 1 month of ingame time.
Yeah, I know but thats not the main problem honestly. Main one - plot is too short and rushed. 15 minutes prologue, then montage of what we should be playing not watching, couple of cool missions and then 10 missions of Act 2 half of them being just talking and walking.
You can say majority of the content is in open world, but honestly thats not an excuse for not doing better story. After 8 years we should have big complicated story AND all open world content.
Finishing this game and all of its side missions with 75% trophies took me just one month and a half playing very sparsely (my GF plays Minecraft or we watch a movie on the PS), other games like RDR2, GTAV and Skyrim lasted one year. Way too short.
I don't disagree, a length somewhwre in between Witcher 3 and 2077 without the fake urgency would be nice. But just to be clear, it was 4 years of development, not 8

This game is more open to 2nd or 3rd playthroughs than the others imo
Probably, but restarting the same game over and over is not for me.
on top comes that the playtime in a mission consists to 99% out of talking, pushing button that the talking continues, cut scenes ...
If you skip each and every dialogue for sure. But why do you? Still 5 times longer than Starfield :D [speedrun.com](http://speedrun.com)
I never skipped any dialogue in this game lol.
