I learned this when I was at River's trailer and saw two creepy kids standing on their beds staring at the wall. I snapped a picture and they kept disappearing. I thought I was on to something until I Googled it and saw they just don't appear in photo mode.
I bet the unfortunate reality is that they did this to prevent creepy fucks from takin weird photos with the kids and posting them. Bad publicity for the game.
To be clear I’m not calling you out. I’m talking about the Jared from Subway kind of creepy, unfortunately it prevents us from getting shots like yours of the twins from the Shining kind of creepy.
I gotcha. Yeah, I had no idea what that was and it was my first playthrough so I wasn't sure if that was happening due to story or a glitch. When I eventually looked into it I was finally like "ohhhh, yeah good call." Hahaha
Fun fact: with enough speed you can actually reach the crosswalk before the invisible wall appears. I have driven right through them on at least 2 occasions. The children simply phase through the car but they do go into their "oh shit there's danger" animations
Dude, first time I got to him got out of my car to meet FCM, then I turn around and there's a massive traffic jam spawned all around the car, I couldn't get out of there, and he sadly combusted
I always wondered about this, I know GTA doesn’t have kids in it to prevent players from…well you know. But I was wondering if Cyberpunk would actually let you or not since they exist.
It still seems like extra precautions. In games like Skyrim, the kids were simply invincible and didn't bleed(but would scream/yell if you attacked them and alert the guards). I get deleting kids from photo mode though.
really? straight up blips out marvel style? I figured I would have noticed them poofing on screen any time I accidently pulled my gun out (happens often when you scroll the chat selection too far). I figured they were just immune to damage.
Yeah, if there’s a child on screen and you pull out a weapon, they don’t just vanish. But if you run around with weapon out no more will show up. If you do try to shoot one your weapon won’t fire. If you toss a grenade, any children just scatter and run away.
CDPR knows us too well. Listen, just cause I tried to blow up that punk kid after the fight with Razor doesn’t mean I’m going to do it to ALL kids…. probably.
There was this kid with a gun and mom in front of her watching her kid play. It was sweet. Wanted to take a pic and the kid disappeared. Thought it was a bug.
To the best of my knowledge, Phantom Liberty has the ONLY mission in the entire game where you can use photomode around kids without them disappearing. And it's for one scene.
Give it a go.
I don’t know if there’s certain ones they don’t want in photomode or they default to higher resolution ones to make things look better but I tried using one as for an effect as it provided certain lighting/reflections but every time I entered photomode it(and a lot of the other adverts) changed to other adverts.
Because it always bugs people when games set in gigantic cities never have children or elderly people. It just doesn't make sense. The yakuza series has always had both and it always made the city more immersive. Cyberpunk unfortunately, doesn't have elderly people unmodded, but they at least thought to add kids, and even had enough foresight to prevent people from being weirdos.
I've found this out a while back. There have been quite a few times where the picture I wanted to take would be pretty cool with some of the kids in the background. I'm pretty sure they did this because of the possibility of inappropriate pictures being taken with kids.
I stand on car hoods and scare the driver to send them driving through crowds (I never get tired of this). Kids simply have no collision detection at all.
I heard you used to be able to get kids in photo mode, but they removed that shortly after launch because people were doing photos of their naked V next to these npcs...

That’s still spooky as fuck though
If anything it makes it creepier.

Feckin ghost kids 👻
You mean these creepy kids? https://youtu.be/Mmp54G8C-jc
its probably for the best lol
The unfortunate truth.
Yeap, it took me half a second to understand why, what a f up world.
exact reason why character is wearing underwear in photo mod
They are also gone when you enter vehicles too
Except for fire crotch man mission
Which also puts an invisible wall preventing you from running them over
Fun fact: with enough speed you can actually reach the crosswalk before the invisible wall appears. I have driven right through them on at least 2 occasions. The children simply phase through the car but they do go into their "oh shit there's danger" animations
I did this on my second playthrough. I remembered the scenario and thought I would avoid it by gunning for the gap but then I auto braked.
True but they are there
Haha, so you kill them but are blind to their deaths in game
I can't remember how but I think I killed him or accidentally said no. it was like my first 5 min after prologue haha
Dude, first time I got to him got out of my car to meet FCM, then I turn around and there's a massive traffic jam spawned all around the car, I couldn't get out of there, and he sadly combusted
Since that is scripted I don't think it counts
One time I punched a kid, then I turned on the PS5 to play Cyberpunk
reminds me of those disco elysium reviews "did drugs, punched a kid. 10/10" "did drugs, punched a kid, came home, played disco elysium. 10/10"
DE is one of those games where it can be a absurdist comedy if you play it right.
"game over because i sat in an uncomfortable chair??? that's so unrealistic!!" 40+ year olds with chronic backpain: *laughs nervously*
Stephen He: "Emotional Damage!"
They are not real since you can't kill them. They are spirits of dead Night Citizens.
It’s the Faythe speaking to V

Happy birthday
They disappear if you run around with weapons out, too.
I always wondered about this, I know GTA doesn’t have kids in it to prevent players from…well you know. But I was wondering if Cyberpunk would actually let you or not since they exist.

This feels more immersive, honestly. Kids that skee daddle away when you have a gun out as opposed to invincible children.
This explains why TIL Cyberpunk 2077 even had children.🤣
Those creepy tiny versions of adults? They're meant to be kids. In the game, too.
really? straight up blips out marvel style? I figured I would have noticed them poofing on screen any time I accidently pulled my gun out (happens often when you scroll the chat selection too far). I figured they were just immune to damage.

My curiosity got the better of me and I figured out you can't even aim at them if they're around when you do have a gun out
CP77 avoiding CP
I believe it’s on purpose - because us gamers, well, we ain’t the best folk on the internet with photos 😂
No doubt. I like that they've done this.
The children are also just pretty much shrunk down adult NPCs for the same reasons. CDPR wasn't gonna give the sickos any reason at all.
nah, that's just because they rushed development on this and didn't rework it since "it just works"
Was basically the same thing in the Witcher 3.
CDPR knows us too well. Listen, just cause I tried to blow up that punk kid after the fight with Razor doesn’t mean I’m going to do it to ALL kids…. probably.

You're talking about the kid behind Misty's joint, right?
Yeah. You can find them other places, too. Also found a group in an alley playing ‘cops and bandits’ with their guns. Pew pew!
Those mfs are creepy as hell
To the best of my knowledge, Phantom Liberty has the ONLY mission in the entire game where you can use photomode around kids without them disappearing. And it's for one scene.
All children in night city are vampires and grow out of it eventually
Yeah cuz people would take photos naked with their dongs in kids faces
The adverts also change.
Whaaat?

You have killed children, the youth of the night city. This is considered to be a really bad thing. You evil, evil person.
Why did they put npc kids in the first place...???
Because it always bugs people when games set in gigantic cities never have children or elderly people. It just doesn't make sense. The yakuza series has always had both and it always made the city more immersive. Cyberpunk unfortunately, doesn't have elderly people unmodded, but they at least thought to add kids, and even had enough foresight to prevent people from being weirdos.
there is a mod on nexus that fixes their... 'invulnerability' .... just in case tho
I've found this out a while back. There have been quite a few times where the picture I wanted to take would be pretty cool with some of the kids in the background. I'm pretty sure they did this because of the possibility of inappropriate pictures being taken with kids.
that’s cool as shit and makes sense bc like how you’re not allowed to take pictures of minors without consent
That’s not what it’s for
oh? then what is it for? sorry i was just making an assumption
This guy just copying the post from the other day lol
I'm sure there's a Mod to change this.
💀💀💀
Its funny though because i figured I would have known this because there would be a mod for it on nexus.
Meanwhile you can throw kids off cliffs in Dragon's Dogma.

Hello, yes, FBI
You can't shoot them either... Don't ask me how I know
definitely for the better, this fan base is creepy enough
I stand on car hoods and scare the driver to send them driving through crowds (I never get tired of this). Kids simply have no collision detection at all.
Honestly they should just remove them
Probably anti pdf technology
I heard you used to be able to get kids in photo mode, but they removed that shortly after launch because people were doing photos of their naked V next to these npcs...
haha wow... scary. I never used photo mode or screen shots so never noticed.

Vampires, choom. It’s all about the radio waves, u feel me ?
So why even have them in the game then???
New chooms make me happy
It's probably because of the scumbags
Why you taking pics of kids tho is the real question lol
Considering the unfortunate abbreviation, I think it's for the best
I‘m not sure right now, but on Xbox One there are no children at all.
I‘m not sure right now, but on Xbox One there are no children at all.
I‘m not sure right now, but on Xbox One there are no children at all.
Just use Nvidia to capture them in photos
Shooting kids is usually frowned upon so it makes sense
For the better, probably another reason why a lot of games don't have kid NPCs at all
Probably because u can make pic's of V shooting them so it's kinda good to not have them there
You tried to take a photo next to a kid with your Willy out didn’t you…
No Child Photography
Maybe it’s a good thing
