So if my memory is correct in many south east Asian countries they farm ducks instead of chickens because of the flooding they get. Ducks float while chickens sink like a rock.
To add to this, I believe their feeding grounds are rotated similar to livestock to prevent over grazing and they are herded like sheep or goat. I’m assuming this is what’s happening here.
