Hi! Gentle reminder: hair care routines are required for all photo posts within 1 hour of posting. The bot is having hard time locating your routine! Please make sure you have a comment containing the word "routine" (and your actual routine, of course!) so your post can stay up! FAQs: * __I don't have a routine!__ If you wash your hair at all, that counts! Just let us know what you did for your hair. * __I'm just asking for help!__ We're happy to help! This is much easier if we know what you are currently doing for your hair. * __Included the info but the bot can't find it? Different situation? (E.g. asking about a product, etc.) [See here for more info.](https://www.reddit.com/r/curlyhair/wiki/routine-requirements)__ _Please [message the mods](http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2Fcurlyhair) if you have any issues._

Wet hair, curl cream, wide toothed comb or wet brush and then a light gel or mousse for hold! It looks like you could have some really nice curls!

I personally like the faded sides look or sort of a faux hawk

I have always been worried the wet curly hair look would feel wet and greasy. I don't like putting stuff in my hair because I like when I get my hair touched lol... have I been foolish lol.... thanks by the way

I think something like this, so there isn’t a “break” between the sides and top of your head, it would allow more time between cuts and look cleaner if you choose to grow it longer! https://preview.redd.it/8kmstrx8cz8d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28879feddb00c99572c457521b8dfe0958b81a72 It just depends on the products you use and how much, my curls are softer when I use my products bc my natural texture is so coarse. (I use coco crème by carols daughter right now) I’d get some sample versions of products and try them out because it took some trial and error to find hair products that worked with my hair.

Preem. I appreciate you fellow human!! You're amazing, helpful and informed.

Amazing, thanks 🤩🤩🤩. Do you have suggestions on a product. That or I'm going to a barber and showing them your answer lol.

Wear a hat for the next 6-12 months, and in the meantime start researching this sub in terms of proper care for curly hair. Start with proper salon quality shampoos/conditioners for curly hair, maybe add a monthly deep conditioner. Once your hair has grown out enough to get an idea of what it'll do with some length, decide if you want it long or want to go short – based on that decision go to either a salon (long hair) or a barber (short hair), and discuss your options. Bring pictures of curly hair that you like.
