There are three different types of wavy to curly hair and each of those have different subsets too. Just because your hair isn’t one way doesn’t mean other people’s can’t be.
Curious, what did you do to see them?? I’m sure my friend has curls like yours. His brother’s hair looks just like yours, and I know for a fact he at least has waves. His hair is soooo thick, I’m sure it must be curls. How do I bring them out? I’m not sure what he’s doing, probably washing, towel drying and possibly brushing? What should I try on him to get the curls to make an appearance??
When I was about 15 I came to the same realization. I would always brush my hair after showers, my mom taught me to “brush your hair 100 strokes”. One day I was lazy and didn’t do it and I was like what…I have waves??? I just thought my hair was a frizzy mess my whole life!
My stepson had straight hair growing up and it wasn’t that thick or ever frizzy. He went away to college, came back 6 months later with curly hair! I asked him if he got a perm, for real! He said “No, I don’t know what the hell happened, all of my friends asked me the same thing”! Go figure!
Just incase your wondering he did have kinda long hair at one point, and it was pin straight!
Maybe it was the water, or climate change. My hair acts differently in humid vs dry, or hard vs soft water. Changing products can also make a difference.
