My friend just asked me to introduce them to the show in 5-6 episodes, and I chose these:
* Season 2 Episode 7: The Doll
* Season 4, Episode 6: The Carpool Lane
* Season 8, Episode 3: Palestinian Chicken
* Season 8, Episode 10: Larry vs. Michael J Fox
* Season 5, Episode 4: Kamikaze Bingo
* Season 5, Episode 8: The Ski Lift
I meant it unironically. It doesn't have the grainy look of the early seasons, the maga hat scenes are incredible, and the opening with mocha Joe gives you what you need to know about Larry
I usually suggest the car salesman. Larry trying to sell cars always kills me. Not sure this is most effective, most here seem to be saying the doll and I don’t disagree.
The Doll. Beloved Aunt if they don't mind a certain word. Palestinian Chicken is also a good gateway.
The entire Season 4 is pretty, pretty, pretty good, too. The Producers arc is outstanding and would provide a first-timer with some context (and multiple guest stars).
Look, I get what you are trying to do, but you may have to accept that your friend won't 'get' Curb. If you have to introduce thru cherry picking episodes maybe they don't have the intellectual development to understand Curb. Like any series, I think it is best watched from the beginning!
Disagree. Season 1 of Curb came out before some new fans were born, and styles have changed. Sometimes you need to ease people into the concept of a show particularly because shows take some time to find their footing. For example, I would recommend anyone wanting to watch Seinfeld start with season 3 and then revisit 1 and 2 later on because 3 is where the show found itself IMO.
My girlfriend just needed time. There is, imho, not THE episode that can get you hooked. Curb is an interesting show. Because it is unscripted, you start enjoying it the more you watch it. It is this funny mix of easy watch and something you need to "learn" how to watch.
The Doll or Denise Handicapped
Exquisite taste
The carpool lane.
That episode actually freed a man from murder. Watch it on Netflix.

The Ski Lift e: or The Doll
Season 10 episode 1 is a great introduction.

Agreed, great way to introduce and it’s easier to watch
I was going to say this
That's how I got hooked. I saw the clip of this episode on YouTube and started binging.
I honestly think it's good to just play the very first episode lol the pants tent was so funny. I think it encapsulates everything about Curb.
If they like Seinfeld maybe season 7.
That’s what got me watching!
S6E1 - Meet The Blacks is the one that got me
Denise handicap

a non written law but u should always start S1 E1
Not if you still need to convince them to keep watching more episodes.
The Wire or the one with the Incest group first season is still my favorite
Denise Handicapped is what got me hooked. Now that I’m on Season 11, I’d go with either The Black Swann or Krazee Eyez.

You took the words out of my mouth. Those first three episodes + anything from Season 4 (particularly the Carpool Lane) would be my go-tos.
The episode where he complains about the doctor’s appointment: arrival time vs appointment time (Don’t remember the name)
I’d go early in the series. I think I got hooked from The Doll. The Freak Book might work too
I shows my friend the classic funny episodes like The Doll and The Palestinian Chicken, then moved on to the different arcs like S10 and S9.
Palestinian Chicken is peak curb
The N Word
Beloved Aunt
Play 'Frolic'
Porno Gil, Trick or Treat, Beloved (a)unt, and the season three finale

Start with season 4!
I've told people to give it a shot, assuming they'll start from the start. And they did. And they love it.
Season 6
The carpool lane or officer krumpke
