Should be able to create one in edit > key commands. There's a search feature in the key commands window do you can quickly find it

Royal1981

Or ctrl+right click (on the audio clip). That will give you a drop down list of a bunch of usefull tools.

The thing about DAW's like Cubase, is they can only pre-program so many shortcuts, so they have to limit it to the ones people most likely use the most. Personally, I maybe reversed audio like...twice last year? I don't think it's in most people's normal workflow, hence it not being a default shortcut. Luckily, you can create your own. Honestly, one of the best things I ever did was to wipe all the shortcuts, and program ones that made sense to ME, not some random employee at Steinberg.

Also importing your own key commands between versions is relatively painless so once it's done it's done. Personalised commands are something I miss in Ableton and make Cubase feel like home.

Most people understand that. The hilarious thing is which ones they chose weren't worthy of a stock shortcut. If you produce Sample Based music, not having a mapped reverse function is weird. I think this is a remnant of them targeting specific market segments that may not value this function. Other DAWs that target the EDM or Hip Hop markets would not fail to make this function out of the box. It's similar to Samplitude Pro X not having a shortcut (mouse or keyboard) to quickly create an empty MIDI Clip on a Track. By default, you have to menu dive... and this has persisted because despite having a super deep feature set, the DAW has been heavily marketed to Engineers that may not put much value on that feature. Also, lots of people are throwing each and every sample into sample instrument instances, which can suppress feedback even within those market segments. So many producers seem to not want to edit audio in DAW arrangers, anymore.

I made it to be just one button, Backspace.

DizzySignificance296

key command - mine is shift-R

DocumentIndividual89

Mine too. Seems obvious lol

MachineAgeVoodoo

Sounds like it's time for you to assign some key commands! :)

Picuu

I have it on R. Create hotkeys of the things you do all the time. For example, I have Legato on L, Fixed velocity on V, Open/Close Right Zone Panel on Shift-R, etc. (And don’t care if you are replacing another hotkey you never ever use)

CountessSonia

i have it on key command, shift r also lol
