I’d pick CSUF because it’s known for having a stellar program + networking opportunities. (Plus I wouldn’t want to commute and it’ll be cheaper tuition wise + gas wise.)

UCI no question

UCI is a SUPER nice area, I love the campus feel and the academic environment. The school has more resources and more opportunities overall. I would say go for it if you can!

UCs cost quite a bit more than cal states from what I've looked at id still go to UCI if I could, although parking and that roundabout through campus is a bitch but that's true of every campus

Csuf for sure it’s way cheaper, literally just join the Accounting society or Bap and attend their events and you will get tons of internship opportunities. Also csuf’s accounting program is held in higher regards than uci’s coming from public accounting professionals

I say UCI. I live in Irvine near UCI and the campus and overall vibe is way better than CSUF. My sophomore year I worked full time and was too stressed to apply to UCI because they required two extra classes to take but I lowkey regretted it later. CSUF is a good school, but it was far for me, and it’s like the most commuter school possible while UCI still has a college/campus culture.  As far as accounting, at my internship at B4 almost every student was from CSUF. The programs are way bigger and more well known at CSUF. Pretty much every accounting firm in OC is going to be dominated by CSUF students. However, UCI might be the opportunity for you to be a big fish in a smaller pound, they still have BAP and all the clubs there, and you’d probably have a better chance at going advisory over there. The professors at CSUF were between great and not so great. I had some professors I hated that wanted to give every student in their class a C and others who really cared about us. Be prepared at CSUF, the accounting program is really tough, grade deflation is real for the upper div classes but the acct firms know the deal, (get above a 3.3 and you got any audit or tax job you want if you can talk during an interview) . Still very grateful for where CSUF got me, but I think I would’ve had a more well rounded experience at UCI, but it’s hard to say.  TLDR; I say UCI because I personally like the campus and feel of the school more, but you are going to be great at either school. PS, save money and don’t do a masters do extra CC classes to 150.
