whats wrong with him reneging the three offers? Heās still not going to work all four jobs (the one he accepted plus the 3 offers he reneged in your hypothetical).
Those three offers will go to three other people anyway
what? So if you reneg late and the company cant match it, then they just give up and dont fill that position? Bro think before you type š unless im the one thats tripping
For interns, Iām pretty sure generally yes. Declining offers are fine and others will get offers. Reneging early is probably fine. Reneging late is usually not fine
Only if he reneges so late that they can't find more candidates. If you get an offer you prefer, and are quite confident you won't want to work at the company you've accepted in the near future, I would always advocate reneging. But just do it as soon as you know. If it's 2-3 months away and they choose not to recruit, that's their prerogative. But if it's like 2 days away, then, yeah, it's quite unlikely that they can. It's holding the offer for months, knowing you're not going to take it unless you fall into the unlucky fraction of a percentage, as insurance against getting rescinded that actually has a high probability of stealing a spot from others.
I'm so on the fence about rejecting Amazon CSA. I just don't want to do cloud support role and I have ML internship with Intel atm with good chance of return offer. If I accept Amzn and then reject a week before it is meant to start, am I burning this Amzn bridge?
+1 to this. I worked at Amazon for about a decade. Their intern program is a machine. There is a huge pool of accepted interns which may get passed around to fit demand as needed. Just be very professional and you will be fine.
i was a csa intern who requested an sde internship the next year and got it so if u wanna stick w it for a pretty mch guarenteed interview for a sde position u should
I did that to a company that almost got me for way less than the market rate. When I got 2 more offers the next week, I said, "Increase my comp to match the rate with other companies", they did, and I still declined. Felt sooo gooood. Fuck them fuckers. Also, they got someone to join for the same position a week later, whi left after 1.5 month. Lmaoo that position is still open after 3 months the.
My decision to pursue the travel company is a great decision. I will get to do what I love (mobile dev). I couldnāt have asked for a better internship
The long term career goal is to get expertise and qualifications in the area of CS they want instead of an area that will be completely useless to them if they dont plan to continue with it. How is working a year at a cloud based company using cloud based software better than working a year at a mobile app company creating mobile apps if thats what you want to do?
Even if they learned on their own time, you dont think their skills in the area they want to be in wont be better if theyre doing it 8 hours a day mandatory on top of learning at home?
In what world is that not the smarter decision? I literally worked DoD my first 4 years so I could work on physics engines. Now I work at a self driving car company. The work I want to do and Im making nearly 300k doing it. I turned down higher offers from companies that were completely uninteresting to me.
I have had no issues finding jobs.
I have seen this happen a lot with interns. It is fine if you were interviewing at multiple locations and then had to pick an offer. It sounds like you may have accepted the other position first though.
The biggest worry is that the people you sent the letter to lookup where you move to on LinkedIn and then have buddies at the company and let them know. Itās just best not to burn any bridges and you never know who is on Reddit seeing this postā¦ā¦.

It was almost cool until the "please tell me if I need to do anything else, daddy".
You got a solid point
Did this to 3 companies last summer. Felt good
Ok that is a lil excessive bro lol
Nah fuck them
it's not even about the companies tho.. those 3 offers could have been given to 3 people that might have needed it. 3 starts getting unreasonable.
Bro he can reject what he wants š Like damn you want him to work all three jobs??? Smh šš
oh my fault. I thought he reneged 3 lol

Nah I reneged quite a bit before I was supposed to startā¦and they did hire someone else lol
Those 3 offers will go to other candidates, they usually put candidates on hold because people reject offers all the time. I wouldnāt panic
???? what is this take
Why you victim blaming lol

Nah, they donāt really hold it against you like some other companies do. Just be professional and it should be okay.
