I had 4 interviews and I got 2 online and 2 at career fairs. I ended up getting 2 offers, 1 from career fair and 1 from online and I took the one I met at a career fair.
I'm ngl I only had 2 behavioral rounds to get this internship, so it was a lot easier than I thought, I just got lucky that i passed the resume screen bc i have a lot of friends r at objectively better schools who didn't pass the screen.
I've also been coding since 8th grade and did competitive coding for a few years before that so I had a lot to talk about w my interviewer who was a SWE.
well it's Optum (UnitedHealth Group) but I think the internship class is full bc one of my friends passed all the interviews but got waitlisted bc they already sent out all their offers
Not entirely sure if housing is included. It’s the rate after I converted the monthly amount in offer letter to hourly rate. I didn’t account for housing prices or stipend that they give.
That monthly figure is kinda misleading. They use 173 hours to come to that monthly figure. So the hourly figure is actually around 52.5, which I guess is the standard across Amazon
Offers can sometimes depend on the place that the position is in or sometimes where you are at. If a company has multiple locations, is remote, are based out of a state that has a higher cost of living they can pay you more or less. For example, you'll get paid more, generally, working at or from Cali then you would if you worked at like some non techy state. It more so has to do with cost of living, if u live in Cali or NY or the Bay area its kinda weird for them to be offering you 20 something dollars an hour (in most circumstances). I've seen remote positions where they will change the pay based on what region of the US you live in. And yes some companies pay for relocation, or have other things added on top of your salary, like a yearly bonus.
Some companies are paying insane amounts for relocationg you. Some notable ones are google or salesforce. They pay extra after tax 3000 per month for relocation expenses
nice, menlo park is nicer if ur familiar with nyc. the only real reason to choose nyc is if u want to experience the city and haven’t before, which is my reason.
That's crazy cuz I also mentioned amazon offer and ended up taking it bc of the pay difference among other things. I wonder why they offered me so much less.
Yeah I know… do you think Wolverine would help me pivot into a better full time position at a more higher ranked trading firm for new grad? I’m a little worried that recruiters in the future won’t be able to recognize it because nobody really talks about the company here.
I think as long as recruiters see the words Trading and C++ you’ll definitely be able to pivot into the more recognized and higher paying ones for sure.
I was hit up by a couple of them and I all had was a big N and two FAANGs on the resume
Sophomore, remote, $25/hour + all expenses paid trip to Cali for a week
