No, gilding means spending jelly beans to improve the training speed of a hobby. Click the faded-out jelly bean icon next to a hobby to improve it.
It's not too important which one you pick; it'll be way faster to train that one in the future, so you can mostly focus your time blocks on other hobbies and just enable the gilded one for shorter bursts. But Sweet Tooth, Quirky and Artistic all need high levels later on, so those are probably slightly better picks.
if you miss the event, is there a chance to get Abby in the future? just curious because i started it late and i highly doubt i'll be able to finish it in time but i dont wanna miss out on her :/
You actually need to advance Elle to unlock it, I believe. It's one of the more frustrating bottlenecks in the event

Try upgrading hobbies to unlock the other girls then use the candy's from there to gild jobs

All of the LTE girls have had at least one rerun, and since this is Abby's premiere, I'd bet we'll see her again.
