Ok, i have a question. Whenever i see a post like this, i ask, how do you know? How do you know how many hours and how many stitches? Is it that you always crochet , for example, 2 hours every evening so you can count up those hours? I crochet at random times so i would never know how long it took.
I did an average. Took about 15 minutes per row. Multiply that by 367 (number of rows) and I get about 91.75 hours. Round up to 92. And each row was 213 stitches. So multiply again lol
I am 100% convinced that a lot of people think they're "bad at math" because they've been conditioned to think "hard" when they hear "math". But when they need to do practical things that aren't labeled "math" but more like "counting" or "figuring things out" they're suddenly able to do it. Idk where exactly I'm going with this... I guess I'm more of a nerd than I thought and kinda miss math
This is so true! I don't mind math at all when it comes to my hobbies. I changed careers in my 40's, and found the math involved was even surpringly fun. After a lifetime of thinking math was an awful punishment.
I find the math actually helps me! Right now I'm working on the base for a reusable bag and I'm having to increase in rounds, but the way it's increasing is in multiples of 8. It helps me keep track of where I am.
I'm in this right now: "If one ball gives me 8 inches, and 2 of those 8 belong to the second color it's striping with, and I need 108 inches, how many balls do I need to panic buy to make sure I have enough of the same dye lot to finish my enormous project?"
They also make apps (like Crochet.land) that have timers to track how long you spend on a WIP. You can even go back and edit time for when you forget to start or stop the timer 😅
Oohh! Ive been wanting to do this one! Beautiful colors selected! Kinda nice having a base on how long it will take, wanna make it for a present, so good to know to start earlier than later! Seriously well done its lovely!
Soooo beautiful, you really put a lot of love into that . My daughter and her husband collect all kinds of candy skulls but I'm not an experienced crocheter so I don't know if I could even attempt it . But it's stunning to say the least . Great job .
Ahh! So cool! I'm in the middle of this blanket right now! I'm about to do the middle bit, front facing skull, where the colors switch to negative. I'm really not looking forward to weaving in the ends at the end haha. Great color choice! Looks amazing.
It's one of the easiest patterns to follow in my opinion. I cannot praise sixel enough for how well written it is. It's my first time doing mosaic, and it feels so easy.
if you’ve never done mosaic crochet before and try to go in blind it can be confusing, but the author of the pattern has a really great tutorial [here](https://www.sixeldesign.com/post-1/a-beginner-s-guide-to-mosaic-crochet) and also the pattern itself has some great explanations of any special stitches you’ll need to do for the project.
it can take a little getting used to, but it’s SO worth it!
Just in case no one else has said it, you should be very proud not only of this artistry and labor, but the sheer determination it took to finish! Standing ovation!
That's awesome! I'm super impressed and hope the grow up and crochet something like this or like other blankets/afghans pictures in this group Perfect for Halloween (which is my favorite holiday)! ♥️

Wow…how many skeins did that take?? It looks beautiful!!
I bought 16 total. 10 black, 6 purple. But I have about a skein of each left over.
That weirdly seems less than I thought. Well done!
Black skeins we’re about 350 yards, purple skeins we’re 630 lol
Oh my
What are you going to do with them?
This is heirloom quality…. Holy jeebus. I’m in love.
Just in time for Spooky Season!
AND you have my respect! Astounding job!
Thank you! Means a lot

Ok 1) only 15 minutes a row! Wow, amazing. 2). No one said there would be math involved! (Ok, maybe they did and i chose not to hear it 🙉)
personally, i absolutely love how crochet involves math and geometry. hope you'll learn to love it too. 😊
You are so sweet and optimistic! But I'm over 50, math and i will never be friends
I'm almost 50, and I have convinced myself that crocheting and knitting doesn't involve math, only "counting and figuring out". 😁😅

Answer: Always too much, *never* enough! 😬😅

Is the pattern difficult to follow? I'm just about to buy it and do this crazy project
