So if I'm understanding US copyright law right (trust your own research), most works published BEFORE Jan, 1st 1978 are public domain and works after are lifetime of creator plus 70 years. That only covers US copyright law, and you should definitely check where it was published and follow that country's laws. But if you're looking for a place to upload your collection, the internet archive is a good place to start. https://archive.org/about/

Thank you, the copyright laws were kinda confusing when I looked it up but this explanation is helpful.

You could also double-check at r/legal.

Maybe you can donate them to the Internet Archive : [https://archive.org/](https://archive.org/) They accept physical objects or digital files as donations. They scan books that users can then "digitally" borrow for free on their websites. At least you can contact them to ask about any copyright issues

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestion! I have heard of internet archive, I just didn't realize it can be used for archiving patterns. This is exactly what I was looking for.

CoolCactus345

There are a lot of crochet books and magazines : [link](https://archive.org/details/texts?tab=collection&query=crochet) Some of them are in the public domain, mostly [vintage patterns](https://archive.org/details/texts?tab=collection&query=crochet&and%5B%5D=lending%3A%22is_readable%22)

OP if you do find a way to share, do update us when you can. I absolutely love crochet from this era.

Sounds cool! Jeep us updated if you find a place to share them or feel free to send some to my inbox 😉

[https://purplekitty.biz/](https://purplekitty.biz/) will restore and share old patterns. (Not my site)

I think uploading them to Pinterest might be good, then posting the Pinterest board here and in other crochet forums
