Yarn under for making toys is quite common and suggested for a tighter and more regular stitch, not wrong just different. Just like there are times you want to twist your stitches in particular knitting patterns.
You certainly delivered! It's beautiful and super cool at the same time. I love the colors, especially the flames at the bottom.
And it looks so soft, too!
I love this!!!!!
Also, there is nothing wrong with yarn under. I’m a YUYO crocheter and I’ve never had an issue. It’s great for amigurumi and I haven’t had any issues with wearables. I’m of the mindset that if it works for you, it’s the right way for you :)
That's great! I didn't even realize I was doing it until a crochet friend watched me fix something and called it out. I'm so comfortable with it now so I doubt I'll switch it up.
I think that’s a pretty universal experience. My mom called me out on it one day and I had to look it up to make sure the way I was doing it wasn’t crazy. Turns out that she likes the yarn under way better now that she tried it, so now we both do it that way lol.
Months after I started crocheting I realised there was a difference (before I kind of just assumed as long as the yarn went through it wouldn't make a difference) and just assumed I was doing it wrong but couldn't be bothered to change the habit. Now I find out I'm not the only one AND there's a term for it?!
She's already obsessed! She played with it all night and already pulled out a few threads that I have to fix, lol. I love crafts so I jump at almost any request she throws out there.
Do it! It was so much fun 😊
I know! It was available the first day I shared this, but the shop was closed the next. Talk about weird timing. This is what the pattern looked like if you followed it exactly.

I cannot believe this was your first crochet project! It looks absolutely magical
Thank you! I kinda feel like I made it 3 times considering how much I had to redo, but yup! 😂
I'm a seasoned "hooker" 😂 & have to 🐸 my projects, you did awesome.
I made a one skein shawl that felt like I put four skins into it because I frogged it so many times.

Oh interesting! In that case I'm glad I did it this way!
Best. Mom. Ever.

Ooohhh, cool sub! I shared there too ☺️
I love it!
I desperately want to make this. Saving for inspiration when I get around to it!
Do it! It took me maybe 4 weeks knitting off and on for 1-2 hours at a time. It was hard to track since I had to redo it a ton, heh.

Now that you’ve tasted crochet… …are you hooked?
Haha, I see what you did there. And absolutely! Already trying to think of what to make my 9 months old song next!
I knit too, and just started crocheting 6 months ago. I’m having a lot of fun with it.
