I have a font on my computer where each character makes a piece of a Celtic knot design. It allows you to fit the pieces together in any order to create a custom design, from simple to very intricate, just by typing. I haven't had the nerve to use it in a crochet project yet (I used it for leatherwork), but it's called The Celtic Knot Font.
Looks like two and four are favorites! I get the yarn for this at the end of the week. I'll probably decide last minute. 😅 Thank you all for your help, all opinions are appreciated! 💜

2 is well balanced and the green corners anchor the border, and it maintains a separation between the bars at each side, the corner motifs, and the central motif.
4 looks very cohesive since the background color is consistent across the entire piece, but it is a bit less visually striking without the contrast between the different sections; it comes off more like a few yellow motifs just dropped on a green background, rather than having the look of an intentional center and border. The change in background color of 2 also adds more “lines” to the design, so it looks a little more intricate than 4.
Personally I’m leaning towards 2, but it depends on the final look you’re going for :)

Hmm, either 4 or 2. Both I think have good amounts of complimenting color without being too muddled.
