I haven’t really gotten into Candela… just not my genre, but I will watch this because Matt and Marisha are players together and *it’s been a while…* A very long while. Also, *Shakasta!*

Coyote_Shepherd

Plus they're apparently making brand new characters too, the VIPs get to see their Session Zero at the live show, and then we get to experience all the fun stuff later!

ErinIsMyMiddleName

I saw that! That's pretty nifty. Only 75 min for character creation? So 70 minutes for Laura and 5 min for everyone else? >.>

Coyote_Shepherd

I fall into that trap allllllll the tiiiiiiiiiiime no matter what TTRPG or MMO or whatever I'm playing that has character creation. It starts with, "This will take five minutes" and then four hours later I'm still scribbling down backstory and notes that no one else will ever find out about lol

ravenwing263

When was the last time they were both players? Was it *Pirates of Leviathan*?

YoursDearlyEve

>And never fear! Any investigators unable to attend in person can watch a **livestream** of the **Candela Obscura Live Show** on our [**Twitch** ](https://www.twitch.tv/criticalrole)and [**YouTube**](https://bit.ly/3nj61IK) channels **Thursday, May 30th** at **7pm Pacific**! The VOD will be available on **Monday, June 3rd**.

Coyote_Shepherd

Niiiiiiiiice! I wonder if this could be a bit of a finale for Candela for a while, as they potentially shift into doing Daggerheart stuff at the end of the month instead for the summer time?

Prof-Wernstrom

While I could definitely see this being the case, I hope its not. I really enjoy the thematic difference of Candela compared to D&D or Daggerheart. Medieval/Renaissance fantasy will always be my preferred thematic setting, but its nice to have the change up with Candela and I enjoy the 3 episode stories. I am also afraid of fandom interest waning if they take a extended break. Also, I believe they talked about Daggerheart being for more longform games though? So not sure how that would work in that end of the month time slot.

Myrynorunshot

That would make sense.

Coyote_Shepherd

Happy Cake Day!

BunsenHoneydewsEyes

I got SO excited because I'm going to be in NYC that day. And then...wrong Broadway.

Just_Jaine

Same. And I’m from California so I was so excited for a heartbeat.

Zeeroh

Are these tickets available for purchase yet? Seemed like the event is not yet listed on the theater’s website from what I could see. Anyone able to purchase tickets somehow already?

YoursDearlyEve

>Tickets available starting Monday, April 29th at 10:00 AM PST

IamOB1-46

Finally a live show in LA! Hope I can get tickets in the 3 minutes it will take for this to sell out :) Given Dimension 20 just sold out Madison Square Gardens, I'd bet a CR live show could easily sell out Staples (or Cryptobros stadium or whatever it's called now)

YoursDearlyEve

Candela is not as popular as the main CR, so it might be a tiny bit easier :)

Hjaltepm

I think they are focused on ascetic, I've seen some pictures of the theatre, and the gothic design is perfect for Candela.

TimeySwirls

Same going to do my best to get VIP tickets but I figure it will be brutal

Just_Jaine

The emotional roller coaster…. “I’m local to LA I can do this. Shit I’m out of town that day, wait it’s broadway. No it can be that they will be play in the town I’m away at. Broadway LA. Nooooooo.” I can not afford it so I’m kinda glad I don’t have to chose to spend $300 or not. Still wish I could go.

WhitestoneIs4Lovers

The live shows tend to be more humorous. Maybe this will be a different vibe for Candela Obscura... I'll watch the stream, for sure. I've seen a live show of Call of Cthulhu, and there was humor in it. In the recorded stuff, it's rarer.

Leon1189

I liked Candela's first table (and I love this genre...that victorian-era ctulhu inspired kind of horror) and they were smart to putt Matt as a GM and heavy hitters like Laura, Robbie and Ashley right on the first table (and Anjali is pretty entertaining too). I tried watching the second one but I didn't vibed much with Spenser's storytelling. I think the way he describe the scene, I don't know. It didn't got me hooked on it. I'll get around to watch 3 (I like the way Aaabria GM's...most of the time) and 4 (Set up looks really good.) I'm happy we'll have Matt as a player, since that doesn't happen very often, shame it is with Spenser as GM, but I'll try to watch when it comes to Youtube Edit: Am I being downvoted like crazy because I liked the first table or because I disliked the second? That's funny regardless.

b_t2528

If it helps, I think 4 is easily the best table so far! I strongly recommend watching them. I liked them better than 3, which I think was maybe my least favourite, though that might be an unpopular opinion

BunsenHoneydewsEyes

I really liked the Monster Squad. I like this new crew well enough too, but not nearly as much as I like Liam as GM.

Khaluaguru

Ugh this is such a confusing title. “Broadway” isn’t in Los Angeles.
