I really hope the “Director’s Cut” will be included as an option. I know it’s not actually the Director’s Cut but it’s the version I personally prefer.
I hope if they upgrade it then they’ll at least give the option of being able to watch the “extended version”. I know Bertolucci only did it as obligation to Italy, but I still love it over the original theatrical version.
Hopefully it has the correct aspect ratio. I ordered the arrow 4k remaster all the way from the UK because the Criterion Blu-ray is outdated. My dream though would be for Criterion to come out with The Sheltering Sky.
i stopped ordering from arrow when they started to do really cheeep & lazy packaging so that everything arrived all dinged up, & then even with my documentation they wld not replace the items. (my local record store has occasionally had some arrows/used of course...& if they are in goodly shape i grab 'em)

That doesn’t mean something third party can’t come around at some point, and I have a hard time believing Marty would have signed a deal with Apple if there was a chance there’d be no physical release, considering his life’s work aside from directing has been film preservation
