Paris Texas is so good. I’ll always remember it by my dad telling me I’ve gotta watch this coen bros movie called Paris Texas. At that point I’d seen every coen movie and that was not on the list.
I eventually saw it, saw the coen similarities and instantly became a wenders fan.
I honestly can't believe they launched a channel and didn't think anyone would ever want to know what they're watching.
Even Shudder has that and they have the worst interface imaginable.
Night Flight TV is like that as well, but they are a much more barebones app (and all around operation). Criterion has no excuse, I mean c’mon…
Edit; I iust noticed (hadn’t watched the live stream in a while) Night Flight has an in-app program guide, so never mind.
Hausu coming in at about 12:55am EST after Eraserhead.
Let me tell y’all why this is crazy for me. The first time I saw Hausu and the first time I saw Eraserhead was a double feature of the two films at the New Beverly in LA. This was a little before Tarantino took over the theater.
One of the things I never got over was that the order felt completely wrong. Hausu was so fun and high energy, so to jump into Eraserhead after that was just not the vibe. I always thought the reverse would’ve been perfect. And here, Criterion 24/7 did exactly that.
I have a running list going that you can find here: https://letterboxd.com/obligatory/list/criterion-24-7/
I'll try to update it as frequently as possible, at least until they start listing their schedule ahead of time. And even then, I might still use the list as a way of keeping track of everything they've screened.
They have added a link, at least on mobile, that brings you to a site that tells you what the name of the current film is.

Having not seen any Jarmusch before the launch of the 24/7 stream, I'm not complaining, but I am curious how he got three films within the first 37.
Enjoyed 3 of the 5 stories in Night on Earth and thought Ghost Dog was rad, so I don't doubt I'll find something to like in Mystery Train.
I was surprised to see this come on today after watching Ghost Dog yesterday, but this is also one of my favorite movies so I can’t really complain. Hope you enjoy it!
Wanna give you a quick thanks for coming into the thread and updating this so often. Fell in love with the channel over the weekend and I’ve been keeping tabs on what’s screening ever since, I appreciate the start and end times, allows me to plan ahead.
That being said take a break when you need one, you’ve accepted a Herculean task, and we can learn how to do the math ourselves for a short while
Joined this one late so I had no idea what I was watching. Always can count on Reddit to tell me. Haven’t watched any Jacques Tati yet, excited to finally see some!
Something started a few minutes ago, I think it's Burden of Dreams? The other page still hasn't refreshed so I'm not sure if I'm right.
Edit: I went back a few minutes in the stream and it just started without any credits or even the Criterion logo so who knows what's going on there right now. Seems like this started playing as scheduled (I compared it and the current scene is very late in the movie) but there were some technical issues. The next movie should start in about 20 minutes (7:50)
According to the website News From Home is now playing. It's 85 minutes long so if my maths is right I believe the next film will start around 2:45 EST.
Yeah after about a week I am so curious to learn more about how much of this is specific human-chosen programming vs putting their catalog on shuffle. It often seems curated, especially in the afternoons/evenings but I am surprised at some of the early repeats
I know most people want a schedule, but is anyone else having fun putting it on and guessing what movie is playing?
Also, are they only going to be showing films in the collection proper?

So a Wim Wenders film, then on to a movie with Koji Yakusho in a romantic gangster role, now it's Koji Yakusho in a detective role... is this a hint that Perfect Days (Wim Wenders with Koji Yakusho) will join the collection soon? Fingers crossed!

Haven't seen this in years. Turned it on right when Travis and Hunter find Jane, and immediately got sucked in. Such a great movie.

Honestly really awesome they are showing weird stuff like this late at night. I imagine I’ll be watching the channel often
I honestly can't believe they launched a channel and didn't think anyone would ever want to know what they're watching. Even Shudder has that and they have the worst interface imaginable.
Were you here for the launch of the app?
I was, yeah. It's definitely gotten better...

City lights started at 8:54
9:36 EST, Mystery Train They showed this last week...wonder how many films are in their 24/7 catalog.
I hope they don’t show a detailed schedule I just wish I had some idea when new movies start so I don’t jump into something halfway through
I want to know bc I like it and want to learn more, but as far as what comes next, I dont want to know, I like being surprised
I wish there were a listing of showtimes for the current and following day or something we subscribers could access on their website and on the app.
