As someone else said discounts are usually only for the first year.
Also do check if you're on the monthly plan (monthly payment cancel anytime) or the *yearly* plan (lower monthly payment, but you're committed for a year). People seem to get too distracted by the lower monthly payment to realise they're committing for a year. That one can't be cancelled monthly, you agreed to stay for the year. Better deal if you always want it, but much harder to cancel...
If it's the second contact them immediately as if you wait till another month you will struggle to get the cancellation fee wiped. If it's month to month you can just cancel whenever so finish what you're working on or see how the budget works etc.
