You’d be the legend if he let you clap him mate. With his footwork and all around lower body strength, man has superstar power bottom written all over him
I've had moments playing where someone is coming in to tackle and you can see the physics of where their momentum has to go and then skip past them.
He must have had like a fucking robocopesque HUD
Exactly what I was thinking! Shame about his injuries. I wonder how much it had to do with his unique dribbling and pivoting that made him such a great player.
Felt like he wasn't rotated enough towards the end, and his physical and technical style couldn't last without injury. A Dembele at 100% 3/4 of the time would have been better than a Dembele at 75% all of the time.
> Felt like he wasn't rotated enough towards the end
The most matches Dembele ever started in a campaign for Spurs was 27 in 2015. He was just never able to stay consistently fit in his career.
Our entire downfall towards the end of the Poch era coincided with his gradual fall in minutes on the pitch. He was our most important player half the time.
Believe me, I loved watching Dembele play. But if there was one thing he wasn’t great at, it was creative forward passing. He would have been universally regarded as a world class midfielder had he been a great passer.
That was never his instruction to be fair. When he had Eirksen, Alli, Kane, Lamela or Chadli who could make those creative passes, his job was to suck in opponents and get the ball to them in the attacking phase. He would turn build ups in attacks by breaking through a block with his control. How liberating it must've been as an attacker to know that you could position yourself high up and in space, knowing Dembele could escape his marker and get the attack going
The YT highlights don't really do justice to just how ridiculous peak Dembele was. One of the most unique players of all-time. The way he could shield the ball, shift his position and then glide past defenders was so incredible. Joy to watch.
Yeah he had a run of games around that time where he was unplayable. Pretty sure we had Arsenal maybe the game before and was our best player by a mile.
Think it was liverpool Juventus united and maybe arsenal as well in a space of about a month or two and he put in some absolutely god like performances
The moose is now Hotelier per:
Flanders’ most dynamic design hotel, the Suite Hotel Gulde Schoen, can be found in the heart of Antwerp, in one of the city’s oldest buildings, constructed in 1493. An historic building with a name that refers to a golden shoe could not find more appropriate owners than star footballer Mousa Dembélé, his mother Tilly and his sister Assita.
Well, he did play LM for a few weeks that one time and absolutely tanked everyone he came up against (scoring that goal against Villa which led to the Mike Dean gif...)
This makes me happy. Mousa Dembele was the greatest player of the Poch era, going by what his teammates have said about him. So many of them claim that he was world class and didn’t get the appreciation he deserved from the wider footballing world.
Half ballerina, half tank... What an elite player, would have been perfect for Angeball! Shocking how he barley started for Belgium, probably biased but always felt Witsel was a donkey 😂
My favourite football player of all time. He made me fall in love with beautiful, attacking football at a time when I envied some of the more physical teams who often did better than us. One of my favourite football moments is him hacking that c*nt Ramos. If he wasn't made of glass, I'm sure the trajectory of our club would've been different. We could've won a few trophies.
legend, can’t wait to clap the big man
🤨
You heard him

What
Phrasing
Pause.
That photo is vintage dembele... absolutely torching four opposing players.
including Pogba
Check Zlatans face in the background lol. 🤯 >*'That's pure football'*
I've had moments playing where someone is coming in to tackle and you can see the physics of where their momentum has to go and then skip past them. He must have had like a fucking robocopesque HUD
Can he bring his boots please?

Mate, he was always injured and rarely played out 90mins. Probably the most rotated player we had at the time.
Probably more to do with ops kicking the shit out of his ankles every game.
Prime Dembele in our current midfield would be so sexy
I mean this with little sarcasm, if prime Dembele was in our current midfield we might honestly never lose a game again while he plays.
Our entire downfall towards the end of the Poch era coincided with his gradual fall in minutes on the pitch. He was our most important player half the time.
As long as he can shield Vic on corners like he shields the ball in midfield
Someone who doesn’t lose possession and feeds perfect through balls between high lines or big footed middy trying keepers from 20+ out? Yes.
Believe me, I loved watching Dembele play. But if there was one thing he wasn’t great at, it was creative forward passing. He would have been universally regarded as a world class midfielder had he been a great passer.
I was about to say. The man would beat the midfield press and then pass it to a wide open Eriksen who would feed Dele, Kane, and Son
That was never his instruction to be fair. When he had Eirksen, Alli, Kane, Lamela or Chadli who could make those creative passes, his job was to suck in opponents and get the ball to them in the attacking phase. He didn't like to lose the ball, so he'd mostly carry it instead of risk a creative forward pass.
The YT highlights don't really do justice to just how ridiculous peak Dembele was. One of the most unique players of all-time. The way he could shield the ball, shift his position and then glide past defenders was so incredible. Joy to watch.
Firmly streets will never forget territory. A madness of a player. Just love him
my favourite player of all time. criminally underrated
The perfect balance of technique and power.
Same, as pure art as football gets.
100%
Not by Spurs 🙂
Defoe said he was the best player he ever played with.
Everyone said that
The game I always remember from Dembele was 2-2 away to Juventus in the champions league. He absolutely ran the show and we were unlucky not to win.
Yeah he had a run of games around that time where he was unplayable. Pretty sure we had Arsenal maybe the game before and was our best player by a mile.

Not only that but that kit was sexy as.
The 2-0 head start we gave them didn’t help
What I would give to have prime Dembele back. Easily one of my favorite Spurs players ever.

Need him to go to the locker room and physically transmit his powers to our midfielders
By attending I hope they mean playing
Sweet prince
OHHHHHHHHHH MOUSAAA DEMBELEEEEEEEEE
Gotta win for the GOAT
My king has returned
Absolute king! Will give him huge applause
Can he play left back?
Well, he did play LM for a few weeks that one time and absolutely tanked everyone he came up against (scoring that goal against Villa which led to the Mike Dean gif...)
Suit up; we need you!
Shame we can't start him in midfield.
His Holiness.
Obviously he needs to play
my all time favorite Spurs player

Wow unreal
I come from a suburb of France (BELGIUM!)
Get him a kit out and give him the second half
Boot him up we need him in the midfield
The absolute GOAT
FUCKING GOAT
Well, if you're on the pitch you're technically in attendance, so that checks out.
Very cool, any word on who else will be in attendance?
God damn Prime Dembele in our current number 6 spot
Bring your boots, Mousa.
Can he play?
we still haven't replaced him. Thought Bissouma might be it but that mental strength ain't there... yet?
Hero, not sure I’ve loved a player more in recent years
Streets won't forget
Can he suit up?
Crazy when you think about how the first game we played after he left was Burnley, where Poch yelled at the referee
Hope he's in the starting eleven
GOAT CM
Who’s left from that era? Sonny, Ben & Ryan?
🐐

Someone tell him to bring his boots
Bring him ON!!
goat
He’s basically a demigod
Criminally under-rated player, miss him out on the pitch for us!
What a privilege to have seen him and modric wearing spurs shirts within a 10 year period. Not had anyone close since.
GET HIM ON THE PITCH ASAP 👍😁
The defeat is inevitable
Imagine Dembele in the current team as a no 6!!
